Chapter 1: Where am I?
MC's POV
I am an orphan. I grew up doing menial work like cleaning and doing chores, although this is a world of cultivation.
If you want to awaken spirit roots, you need to have money and commoners don't have that much money so I knew my life was a normal one, but I did not care I am already happy, I am 13 years old and I get 50 silver taels and 300 copper taels a month as a salary so I thought can live a life with spending it slowly.
But here I am in a dark cave, I don't know where I am, how I am here, I don't know how long I was here but I was here long enough for my lips to dry due to being thirsty and slowly time passed but nothing happened.
After an unknown amount of time, I saw a light ray and it went out as fast as it came, I moves to that place and met with a wall, as I was searching with my hand, my hand touched a bowl but inside it was dry rice and vegetables since I was hungry, I couldn't stop myself from eating it.
Even though the taste was bland, it could still satisfy my stomach, from that day, no food came again, and I started to go blank from doing nothing so I started exercising like doing push-ups and running around the cave and its food came back again.
After the day food came again, a ray of light came again but it was not food but some other thing as I touched it went away.
Author's POV
In the dark cave, the boy touched one of the snakes which was sent inside the cave, but it slithered away, and it was seeing the boy with wariness and slowly it came near him, and wentnear his leg and making the boy scared and making him fall, as the boy was in panic mode the snake use this opportunity.
It came near him and without hesitation bit, his neck, and poison entered his body from the neck bite and the boy got angry, frustrated, and scared due to the snake, without any thought, he followed his survival instincts and bit the snake, but snake tried to slip away but he caught it with his hands.
The snake bit his wrist but he didn't care much about it and just put the snake's heat inside his mouth, with his sharp teeth he bit the snake head of the snake's body, chewed it and swallowed it, and the other snake seeing this got scared of him and went to the corner of the cave.
As the boy realized what he did, he started vomiting and after feeling the vomiting feeling gone, he stood up and went to the other side of the cave and sat down, he used his hand to touch his neck and felt the snakebite, he is scared that he will die because of it.
He got angry that he will die due to the snake, due to his anger he went to the place where he killed the snake and took the snake's corpse started chewing and eating it.
Due to the fear of dying and his anger toward the snake, he couldn't think anything, he is just acting according to his inner thoughts that he isn't aware of.
He ate the snake like a hungry beast if you see closely his eyes were giving off a red glow, and although it was little, it was there, after eating it he couldn't control his body from fainting and fell on the floor but his eyes were full determination to live, survive and get out of the place.
Although he can't control his eyes from closing, he bit his tongue till the blood started to come, after some time the other day the food came again, and the boy crawled to that place and slowly, after eating and taking some rest, he started exercising and surprisingly he wasn't tired from all the exercises he did and he fisted his hands and punched the wall although his hand was paining, he knew that he got strong.
He opened his mouth and said, "H-How did my physique get better all of a sudden?" due to not speaking for a long time his voice was hoarse, but the boy was more curious about how he got strong.
He then thought, ' Is it due to the poison of the snake? I see no other reasons for me to get strong all of a sudden, I heard people say that some cultivators gained immunity to poisons after being infected by it, am I also experiencing it?' Well, now his eyes glowed red as a thought crossed his mind.
Due to being in dark for so long his eyes got accustomed to the darkness, so he could vaguely see the interior of the cave, he saw the other three snakes coiled up and sleeping in the corner of the cave.
His mind was going crazy due to what he was going to do, as for what he was about to do, his next actions showed it. He went near the snake soundlessly and caught one of the snake's heads with his hand holding its head, the other snakes got alerted and ran away.
But the boy accomplished what he came for, the snake was struggling to get out of his grip but failed to do nonetheless, the boy got the snake's head near his wrist veins and let it bite it, the snake bit his wrist and poison entered his veins and mixed with the blood flow, he let go of the snake and it ran away and he fell to the ground and slept.
After that day, he woke up and he was fine his life went with a routine of letting the snakes bite him, exercising and sleeping. The food approximately comes once a month and he saves the vegetable for eating when he was hungry.
His constant life was disturbed as he received an unwanted guest inside the cave, it had blue eyes which were shining in the darkness, it was staring at the boy who was sitting down in the cave, it waited for a minute to let the boy attack first and wanted to take advantage, but the boy didn't attack.
