Su Ye ignored Su Qingwan and pulled Lin Tang toward the field.
Su Qingwan watched Su Ye's departing figure, sighed, and whispered an explanation to Gu Yan.
"I don't know how my sister turned out like this. Even with her marriage nearly set, she's still flirting around..."
She seemed unable to finish the latter part of her statement, her glance sliding sneakily toward Gu Yan.
Gu Yan was staring at Su Ye's retreating figure.
Because she was going to play golf, Su Ye wore an exceedingly ordinary thin sweater.
With her hair in a high ponytail and wearing canvas sneakers, her fair and slender legs were displayed, making her look like a college girl who hadn't yet left campus.
She was beautiful, but seductive.
Gu Yan withdrew his gaze, responding indifferently, "Indeed, it's not proper."
Su Qingwan inwardly breathed a sigh of relief.
She hooked her arm through Gu Yan's, her smile sweet, "Let's go inside."
...
It was the first time Su Ye met Shen Qifeng.
The man was even more handsome and refined than in the photos, wearing silver-rimmed glasses, holding a golf club, his demeanor cool.
Many who were eager to strike up a conversation were deterred by his "stay away" aura.
"Is he not a top-class catch?"
Lin Tang whispered in her ear, and Su Ye couldn't help but nod.
Being young and accomplished was one thing.
Shen Qifeng was also known to live a clean and choosy private life.
Su Ye admired him somewhat, and sighed regrettably.
If this were Gu Yan, she wouldn't have to worry about how to make a connection.
As Su Ye was thinking, suddenly a golf ball rolled to her feet.
She paused, then looking up, met Shen Qifeng's narrow black eyes from not too far away.
She bent over to pick up the ball and walked towards Shen Qifeng, handing it to him.
"My apologies."
Shen Qifeng took the ball, thanked her unhurriedly, his glancing sliding past Su Ye.
Pausing for a few seconds, his voice, deep yet somewhat aloof, said,
"A hole in one."
Su Ye watched for a while, then smiled in praise, "Doctor Shen plays a good game."
"Not as good as Miss Su," he replied, looking up at her.
Su Ye was somewhat surprised that Shen Qifeng actually recognized her.
His eyes seemingly rare with a hint of mirth, he wiped his club, and said in a measured tone, "Eight years ago, I saw Miss Su play, and every shot was a hit."
Su Ye paused, "That was a long time ago, I'm surprised Doctor Shen remembers."
Eight years ago, indeed, she was highly enthusiastic about everything and had a natural talent; golf was one of the things she was good at.
"Want to give it a try?" Shen Qifeng asked offhand.
Su Ye lifted her right hand's little finger, smiling, "Sorry, something happened to my pinkie eight years ago, I can't play anymore."
Shen Qifeng's eyes briefly lifted, passing over her slightly bent knuckle, speaking with what seemed like genuine regret, "That's really a pity."
"If Doctor Shen really finds it regrettable, why not help me correct it," Su Ye suggested, lifting strands of hair from behind her ear, her smile dazzling, "I have great faith in Doctor Shen's medical skills."
Her smile was sly; her eyes enticing, her red lips vivid against the clear and breezy sky, stunningly bright.
Shen Qifeng's thin lips rarely curved upwards, his phoenix eyes behind the glasses were cool but implied something profound.
"So, you came to me for the finger correction?"
Su Ye pinched the golf club, batting her eyelashes.
"Mr. Shen plays a good game as well, why would I only be after Mr. Shen's medical expertise."
Shen Qifeng pushed his silver-framed glasses up, looked at her for a while, and then suddenly smiled coldly.
"Su Ye, actually, I've met you more than once."
Su Ye froze.
How could she not remember?
She wanted to say something more, but her phone's ringtone sounded urgently.
Shen Qifeng answered the call, responding with a few indifferent "mm-hmms".
Soon after he hung up the phone, he looked at Su Ye again, complex emotions flashing deep within his eyes.
Before Su Ye could see clearly, he stepped away.
Shen Qifeng seemed to have some business at the hospital; he grabbed his coat and walked out, saying indifferently, "I'll consider the surgery. As for anything else, think it through clearly."
Not far away.
Several strokes to the hole.
Gu Yan's peripheral vision swept towards Su Ye's direction.
She was leaning over, speaking to a man with a smile, her brow and eyes expressive and charming.
From Gu Yan's angle, the two of them were practically pressed against each other.
They seemed quite compatible, even the usually cold and distant Shen Qifeng seemed to be smiling unusually.
Gu Yan lifted his club and precisely made another shot.
Quickly, he casually put away his club.
The gaze at the bottom of his eyes became slightly cold.
"I'm going to the restroom."
Leaving those words behind, Gu Yan turned and left, and Su Qingwan was stunned.
Shen Qifeng turned out to be somewhat beyond Su Ye's expectations.
Coming out of the restroom, she recalled for a long time and still couldn't remember having any previous encounters with Shen Qifeng.
She shook the water droplets off her hands, her mind elsewhere.
She had only walked a few steps when suddenly, a pair of slender hands grabbed her wrist rather roughly, pulling her into the pitch-black VIP room.
She was pressed against the wall, her shoulder scraping against it, causing her to involuntarily let out a muffled groan of pain.
Click—
With the sound of the light turning on, she collided with the dark, serene eyes of Gu Yan.
Su Ye cursed out loud in anger, "Gu Yan, are you sick or something?"
A fleeting coldness in Gu Yan's eyes disappeared as he coolly gripped her chin with his fingertips, forcing her to look up.
"Blocked me?"
As someone who had been friends with benefits for so long, Su Ye of course knew how petty the man before her could be.
But she also truly did not wish to be entangled with him any longer.
She lowered her gaze, hiding the emotions in her eyes, and said indifferently, "I'm tired of it. Wouldn't it be better if we parted on good terms?"
His fingertips grazed her soft skin, his eyes cold and dangerous, yet he wore a smile that wasn't quite a smile.
"When you climbed into my bed in the first place, why didn't you talk about parting on good terms?"
Su Ye suddenly looked up.
A moment later, she smiled lazily, her beauty radiant.
"Young Master Gu, what are you saying... Don't I have the right to mend my ways and turn back from a wrong path?"
"Turn back from a wrong path?"
Gu Yan's eyes narrowed dangerously; he closed in on Su Ye, caressing her face while saying nonchalantly, "Is Shen Qifeng your right path? Would the Shen Family allow Shen Qifeng to marry an illegitimate daughter whose notoriety is known throughout the city?"
Su Ye let his fingers dig into her flesh, she laughed coldly, her anger making her even more beautiful.
"That's none of Young Master Gu's business. You should spend more of that concern on your darling..."
Before she could finish, her lips were suddenly seized in a bite.
Angry and wanting to break free, Gu Yan held her wrists tightly, fiercely biting her lips, grinding persistently.
Gu Yan's eyes glinted with ruthlessness, as if he wanted to devour her entirely.
Just at the golf course, when she had smiled at Shen Qifeng, he had wanted to do this.
