Stepping off the plane had never felt as scary as it did in that moment.

As excited as she was to be home and getting back to her life, Kristina knew there was still a lot she had to sort out with Gary because the past few months had created an awkwardness that had never been there between them.

Of course she only knew this because now she remembered everything about him and their relationship. From what she now recalled about her fiancé and the way he had treated her, she was sure that he wouldn’t be mad and that he’d just want to pick up where they left off. She missed him so much after a few weeks away; she could only imagine how much pain Gary had been in and what he’d gone through over the past year.
