At the end of my two-month grace period, waking up had me feeling nervous but ready for whatever I might face. Judging by the look on the bitches face when she opened my cell, I was in for a surprise.
But I had made no small amount of headway during my training, and I was excited to use the techniques I created.
Inside the ring, I started to stretch, ' Mom always said yoga is the key to a long life. Maybe in this life, I can see my forties. '
Just as I finished warming up, one of the cages opened. My skin crawled as a pair of large red eyes stared at me from the darkness of the cell.'
That singular pair of eyes duplicated, and soon enough, four pairs of red eyes all blinked at me.
A second later, a net shot towards me from the cage. It was pretty slow, so avoiding it was no problem.
The arachnid hissed, and it scampered out into the sunlight to face me head-on, a black hairy spider the size of an SUV crawled onto the walls of the arena, clicking its mandibles.
" I hate bugs. "
Pointing my hand at the spider, I closed one eye, inhaled, and aimed, " Bone Art: Bōngan! " My arm swelled as my new muscles constricted, shooting out a shard of bone with bullet-like speed.
The spider had no idea what hit it, as the shard nailed it right between its too many eyes. I was about to begin my victory speech when the spider's corpse started to bubble.
I watched in horror as a horde of terrier-sized spiders clawed their way out of their mother's back.
Their hairy bodies looked like a carpet that writhed with life, " I'm not even scared of spiders, but this is a little too much. "
Crouching, I focused all my energy on my legs, ' Enhance bone structure, reinforce muscle density. '
My skin exploded as new muscles and veins covered my legs. The sandals on my feet also snapped as my feet transformed into three clawed talons.

Sinking into a runner's starting position, I waited until the spiders had almost surrounded me. Kicking off the ground, I left behind a crater as I trampled every spiderling in my path.
After running the arena's length, I made another run by using my talons to scratch, crush, and, more importantly, kill every single spider.
But to my horror, every time I killed a spider, it would burst into ten smaller spiderlings the size of hamsters.
Three minutes had passed since my transformation, and I cursed as my legs deflated like a balloon.
"Damn it. I still can't use this form for more than three minutes. I have just enough energy for one more major change. I better make this count."
Running over to the arena's back wall, I braced myself before pointing my hand once again at the great horde of spiderlings.
"I might lose an arm here, so this is going to suck."
Bone protrusions pushed through the skin on my forearm, and they acted like pumps as they started to vacuum in the air. I groaned as my arm was destroyed from the inside as the air pressure inflated my forearm.
When my arm looked like it swallowed a watermelon, I grinned as I looked at the mass of hairy bodies for the very last time.

The air pressure in my arm burst out through my hand as a gale-force wind. If not for the wall behind me, the attack would have sent me flying.
The sight brought tears to my eyes as the spiders splattered all over the far wall of the arena, "Take that, you eight-legged bastards."
While it was incredibly satisfying to see my enemies blown away, I had to pay a steep price. My arm exploded. It looked like a bomb had gone off inside my body. Sliding to the ground, I sighed, 'The worst part of this is I'm so hungry, and the bitch won't feed me for at least two days.'
"I'm just going lay here for a few minutes if you don't mind."
Closing my eyes, I separated myself from the pain of the physical world.
"Wake up, you worm. Take him to his cell, and don't feed him for at least three days."
I groaned as the guards were none too gentle with handling me. Once I was finally alone, I stopped feigning unconsciousness.
'I guess I can't do anything for three days. I guess I can work on my Haki. It should save my energy as well.'
Closing my eyes, I clasped my hand together,' Maybe I can get past the two-meter mark. If I can, I could start working on my sword form.'
My meditation acted like a time skip mechanic, and before I knew it, the smell of food reached my nose. Opening my eyes, I drooled at the tray of food outside my cage. Reaching through the designated slot, I wolfed down the meal.
The meal didn't even have time to settle in my stomach as I immediately started to grow back my lost arm, leaving me no energy to move, so back to practicing Haki.
I conserved my energy for a week in a meditative trance, practicing my Observation Haki. I had increased the range of my Haki to 2.5 meters.
By that point, I was hoping to reach the 3-meter mark, but no such luck, and I also had enough energy stored to start using my devil fruit again.
'My more powerful forms and techniques are too strong for my body. I should train my body to handle the most extreme conditions. I could even try to create new limbs to prevent destroying my main ones.'
The idea was a good one, but I wasn't skilled enough to create entire limbs in seconds, so I had to table my pipe dreams of blasting people away with bone shards.
