Chapter 74

          Max's POV

Upon arriving at the apartment, I was exhausted and just wanted to take a cold shower and go to sleep. However, upon entering the house, I noticed that the lights were turned off and it appeared to be empty. I searched for the light switch with my hand, and when I finally found it, I switched on the lights. To my surprise, I saw Priscilla sitting on the couch with messy hair, tears streaming down her face, and her body trembling.

I quickly placed my briefcase on the floor and rushed over to her. I didn't know what had happened to her but seeing her in such a state broke my heart. "Priscilla, what happened?" I asked, but she didn't even acknowledge me. She remained sitting there, motionless, with tears still flowing and her hair disheveled as if she had been pulling it out. I couldn't understand what was going on, so without saying anything, I pulled her into my arms and held her close. I knew that this was all she needed at that moment.
