chapter 1

*Ava's pov*

Beep beep beep "argh!!" I groan waking up to the sound of my alarm clock which is the most annoying sound ever. I'm just gonna lay in a little longer I don't have to leave for school for another 1 hour and it's just 6:30am.

   "Ava,please wake up and get ready for school"  my governess madeline yells from behind the door .urgh she is so annoying.

I decide to get up and get ready for school before my mom comes to wake me up by herself and she is going to give me another lecture on responsibility and how I need to start acting my age blah blah blah. She really needs to chill I'm just sixteen.

My parents want me to take over their company (Manchester hotels) when I turn 20 but they need to understand that I want to feel like a normal teenager, finish high school and maybe get into a decent college but they don't want that.

They want me to be CEO at the age of twenty.

Why can't they choose my older brother Max. Why must it be me. My parents are so soft with my brother they even let him join a band but it took some convincing for them to let me join the cheer squad. Gosh I wish I had a normal life.

I go to my bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth I won't take a shower cause I had one last night. With all that done I leave my bathroom and go do my make-up which is basically mascara and lip gloss. I decide on which outfit to wear. After all the struggling I decide on a white jumper with black jeans and my black vans. I get dressed pick up my bag and head straight to the dinning room for breakfast cuz I'm starving.

"Good morning Mr.Brent" I great the butler

"Good morning kiddo" 

  I take a seat at the empty dinning room and the chef comes to serve me breakfast.

My brother and I are used to eating alone because my parents are always busy.

We only eat together as a family on special occasions

Like thanksgiving or Christmas or birthdays (that's if they even remember our birthdays) or when my father has an important business partner coming over for a meeting.

I grab my phone to text my best friend Sydney

A:hey babe

C: hey koala

That's her nickname for me because I like to sleep; i mean who doesn't

A:your never gonna stop calling me that are you ?

S: never

😏

A: whatever. Just meet me outside the parking lot. okay?

S: yes ma'am 😏

I finish my food quickly and head out the door. I see that the driver Is already waiting for me.

"Good morning Jasper" I say to the driver

" Good morning ma'am" urgh! I hate it when they call me that. But I just shrug it off and make a mental note to address it later.

I'm now at school after spending over 30 minutes in traffic. The amount of traffic here in New York city is shocking.

I see my brother in the school parking lot talking with Sydney . I seriously thought max was still at home snoring his life away.

I walk over to them.

"Hey Sydney" I say hugging her

"Hey " she says.

"Hey sleepy head" max says punching my arm.

" Hey!! that hurt"

Max just laughs walking away "douche bag " I shout then he shows me his middle finger.

"He is so annoying"  I say groaning

"no he is not" Sydney says "right ,because you don't have to spend every single day of your life with him"

" well at least he has his good sides" she says smiling

"Miss Dawson do you have a thing for my brother"

" eww no gross " she says scrunching her nose

I just laugh and take her by the arm as we walk into the school hallway.

We go straight to our lockers.  I open my locker and suddenly my books falls down. great.

I bend down to pick them up and someone comes to help me.

"Thank you" I tell the person while standing up. I stand up and look at the person. Omg it's Liam Richardson the hottest guy in my grade and my supposed crush.

"O h hi Li am " I say bearly able to get the words out.

"Hey Ava ,how are you and how was your weekend"

" it was okay the same as every weekend" I say trying to sound cool.

"Okay"  just okay?? Well better luck next time Ava.

I turn around walking away suddenly he calls my name.

"Ava wait" I quickly turn around.

"Yeah"

"I've been meaning to ask you if we could go get coffee together sometime" Omg!!

"Sure when"

" how about Friday after cheer practice" wait how does he know I have cheer practice on Fridays

"Okay that sounds great. Wait how do you know I have cheer practice on Fridays"

"The basket ball team and the cheer squad share the gym on Fridays remember" that's right how could I forget I have the privilege of watching Mr handsome

right here play basket ball every Friday.

"Silly me I totally forgot" I say like the idiot I am.

"Okay see you around Ava" he says walking away casually.

I go to meet Camari at her locker grinning from ear to ear.

"Why are you smiling so much"

"Liam just asked me out for coffee on friday"

"Wait Liam as in Liam Richardson as in the hottest guy in school Liam"

"Uh huh" I say sounding like an idiot

"Omg!! Girl you are so lucky"

"I know right" suddenly the bell goes off

" urgh I hate that sound"

"You hate everything" Syd says laughing

"What class do you have"

"I've got advance English. What about you?" Sydney  says as we begin to walk to our first class of the day.

"I've got Biology. Hashtag worst subject ever.I can't believe i've got Mrs Jones this year she is the worst teacher ever"

"I know right. I got her last year. Her assignments and projects are hard as fuck" Sydney  tells me as we reach my class.

"Bye koala" Sydney says laughing

"Bye" I tell her sticking my tongue out like a child.

As I enter the class the teacher yells at me

"Miss Manchester you are late"

" But the bell just went off" I tell her trying to sound mean.

"Just take your seat"

Today's gonna be a long day I say to myself sighing.
