Dungeon dive 3

The goblins have a slightly high Agility, which makes them quite annoying for the first one or two attacks.

But once you get used to their speed, they are just an experience farm.

"Kale! Let's finish these four ourselves." I shouted looking at him.

Kale nodded and rushed forward with his sword.

"{ Gale Thunder Sword : Lightening Cutter }"

Kale moved with speed of Lightening, and two heads of goblin lifted up in the air.

He finished his task without a sweat.

' I cannot be behind Kale, can I?' I started circulating my essence and used my elemental skill.

"{ Metal Spike }"

Two spikes made up of a sharp metal emerged from the Earth and pierced the chest of the remaining two goblins. They were dead before closing the gap between us.

"The first wave is over. Now after every 20 minutes the number of goblins coming for us will increase!!" Natalie said with an excited tone. She was clearly itching for a battle.

" For the second wave, lets have an all party battle! "

" Yes."

"A. . . aaaah, Finally!!"

"OK"

And soon the twenty minutes were over.

This time there were 8 goblins. Seven of them were normal goblins while the last one was a Goblin Warrior.

"Kale, Natalie and Jim!! Form the triangle formation and deal with those Seven goblins. I will face the leader. Let's go!" I gave the command and went ahead to face my opponent.

The others followed the trail and the battle began.

While Rey and his party are clearing the first level of Goblin's Den, the party of Elliott has also begun to move.

Right now there are exactly five mages ready to take the Stone age Dungeon. They were the renowned five stars.

Elliott's POV____

Today is the promised day for the dungeon dive. We are just waiting for Garrett to come back with the permit to enter the dungeon.

Yesterday was the first time Garrett talked to me, after our duel happened. He apologized for his previous behavior and then asked me to let him join us in this dive. When I tried to ask the girls, they all said in unison,' Whatever you decide will be our choice '. Hence, in the end I couldn't say no to him.

" I am going to make a quick check on Garrett, you guys stay here! " I said.

"Please be quick Elliott. We are already behind our schedule. That idiot never does anything on time." Amisha replied with a troubled expression to which Somia and Juhie nodded.

I left the group and arrived in front of the guild office. Garrett was still having a talk with the staff member. I decided to stay outside of the office. And slowly my mind was taken over by my own worries.

"Huhh. . . haaaah" I took a deep breath and made up my mind.

'So this will be my second dungeon dive after that day. I am not the weak Elliott of the past anymore. This time I won't let it happen again.'

I looked at all my friends as they were having a fun chat before the entering the dungeon. Actually there shouldn't be any thing to worry at all in an E-Rank dungeon with our line-up and experience, but the quest I received yesterday directed otherwise.

1. Enter the dungeon Stone Age and clear the second round without any injuries to your party.

2. Enter the hidden third level and survive against ?????

3. Exit the dungeon without any casualties within 48 hours.

The system always gave the quest as a warning for the future danger and a way to overcome those dangers with fitting rewards.

Two months before the Grace Academy's entrance exam, I was chosen as the host for the system. System is an almighty existence which gives it's host the power to rule the world.

The status window that any mage can see in our world is just a part of the system's abilities. My system can provide me quests, which after completing can give me plenty of rewards. Other mages needs the skill page obtained in the dungeon to gain a skill, but I can get it in form of the rewards or from the 'Shop Function'. The shop does not only contains skills but also techniques, artifacts, weapons and armors. The next is the system storage, there is nothing to explain here. It is a storage space only and only accessible to me.

I've come a long way since I got chosen by the system. But the system always told me that my selection of becoming the host was not random. It was fate, that was the only answer I got from the system.

"It's been quite a while since the system had gone to sleep. I don't know when will it wake up, . . Maybe after the update happens." I mumbled out my thoughts aloud.

"What update? who will wake up? You are weird."

I was startled at the sudden voice from behind. As I looked back, Garrett was the one speaking.

Cutting me out from my daze, he said

"Here! I got the permit. Lets go towards the entrance." After saying that he started sprinting towards the others.

"Now I remembered! He's extremely afraid of Amisha. To be honest, So am I sometimes. Oi, wait for me. . . " I followed after Garrett with all my might.

When we arrived, Garrett handed over everyone's Id's and soon we arrived in front of the rift. The rift situated on the shore of Bessie Lake. We all looked at one another one final time and jumped into the rift.

A familiar sensation swept all our my body and my eyes were closed reflexively. When my eyelids were open, the first thing that came to my view was an ancient temple made up of stone.

[ Host has entered the dungeon "Stone Age". The quest will be starting now.]

[Time limit has been added. Time remaining :- 47:59:59. . .58. . . .57]

"The dungeon Stone Age's first level, Boulder Temple. It is a maze type level which will require us to find a core hidden within the temple. Once the core is found, we have to place it in the center hall of the temple." Somia explained the information she had on her hand from her guild.

"Isn't it easy! We just find the core and place it in the center. What's so difficult?" Garrett asked with slight confusion.

" Idiot." Juhie who didn't speak until now, spoke on the behalf of the entire group.

"Wha. . . . . Why am I the idiot? What's so difficult about a maze?" Garrett tried to speak up for himself, but was shunned down by a glare from Amisha.

"Let's not waste our time here, we should enter straight away!" I said. The time was ticking up for me.

The temple was closed with huge stone gates. Only after combining the strength of Juhie, Garrett and myself were we able to open the gates. At the entrance, there were four paths leading to different locations.

"Guys, at this point we have no choice but to separate. According to the information I have, the core will show up in any one of the four routes. The other three will lead us to a monster room. Each routes will have traps in it and we have to avoid those no matter what. The only problem is that we all have to enter all four routes at the same time. Which means we have to divide the team in four groups." Somia stopped to take a breath and continued further-

"The monster is going to be a 'Stone Golem' of lower E-Rank. The monster room will all consist of one such golem, and we have to kill the golem to get out of the room. It has absurdly strong physical defense. But magic is the weakness of golems. We just have to crush their cores to beat them dead.

Lets discuss the teams now!"

The moment when Somia said her last sentence, everyone turned towards me in anticipation of an answer. I sighed and said-

"I think Somia is the weakest in combat among all of us, so she should be pair with one of us four. The rest three can go solo."

"I'll take her with me!" Garrett said with a serious face.

"No! Anyone but him." A stern rejection came from Somia.

I sighed once again.

"Somia, come with me. . . " Amisha asked energetically.

"I'm on, lets go with this."

Since the teams have been agreed, we started picking up the routes. I picked the right-most route. When I started walking through the route, I was met by huge paintings of some creature with some inscriptions written on it.

The only thing I could read in those texts were the words-

"M-A-R-D-O-R-N-G"

After walking through the ancient scriptures and texts, a room was visible at the end of the corridor.

"It's a monster room."
