a traitor amongst the gods

Back in the temple of the gods Orion, faize, boron, and the two female gods were still present in the meeting room, briefing up on some other god business. Kira and Zack weren't present in the room, as Zack had left the meeting room earlier along with kira.

"I-i can't believe we just destroyed a planet." Boron gently muttered, his face still shocked from the unexpected occurance which happened not long ago.

"I-it's not your fault man." Faize softly said, placing his arm on boron's shoulder. He could tell boron was quite a sensitive god even though he had a hot temper, as they had known each other for a while back now.

The destruction of a planet wasn't a simple task at all, as all the resources and materials found there was lost. Not to mention the living beings occupying the planet.

"How could Zack be so calm with it." Boron muttered with a hint of anger in his tone, his hand crushing a mug he tightly held. The mere thought of seeing Zacks emotionless expression, made his blood boil more in anger.

"Let it go boron there wasn't anything any of us could do."

"Bullshit!" Boron yelled. "There's always another way damn it!"

"D-don't be such a blockhead damn it! it's pointless crying over spilled milk." Faize shouted, which caused boron's aura to burst out from him along with several bangs of thunder.

"Are you seriously going to fight me here." Faize said with wide eyes, slightly shaking his head.

"Well come on then." Several green circles surrounded him as he held his hands out.

"Are you morons seriously going to fight in here." Nexus casually said with her usual calm composure. She was already annoyed being stuck here with this morons, that she couldn't put up with their constant games.

"Stay out of it princess you might get-" faize words were stopped from completion, as blue circle with runes shot fast straight to him.

"Barrier!" He quickly shouted, as one of the green circles blocked him. The moment the blue rune hit the green circle, a loud bang went off sending faize skidding backwards a bit.

"W-hy you!" Faize screamed ready to retaliate and go in for an attack, but was stopped by Orion.

"It isn't worth it." Orion gently said holding faize's arm. He had been watching from the sidelines, how this friendly argument quickly changed to a not sort out mindless batlle between gods.

He couldn't believe how childish they behaved, as he had to constantly avoid troubles between them. He knew nexus and the others were matured a bit to make rational decisions on their own, so he wasn't bothered about them.

Boron and faize on the other hand, were the main troublemakers that gave him a lot of headache.

'Why can't you all be just like Freya.' Orion thought as he glanced at her. He could see her calmly sitting on her chair, as she watched the scene unfold.

"Hey! old man! l-let go of me." Faize grunted, but his body was already enveloped in a bright white light stopping his movements.

"Suck it up and be a man." Freya the god of wind scowled at him sipping her tea. She was irritated how faize and boron argued meaninglessly, when they had greater things to focus on.

"Well she asked for it." Faize muttered, dispersing his green circles.

"Can you release me now old man." Faize scowled at Orion, as he saw the white light slowly fade away. He then took a seat besides boron, who chuckled mischievously.

"And what's so funny?"

"Oh! nothing.. just that you got your ass kicked by a woman." Boron slyly said nudging faize shoulder, as he burst out into laughter unable to control himself.

"S-shut up! She caught me unaware." Faize retorted.

"Yeah keep telling yourself that." Boron smirked.

"Why you-"

"Enough you two!" Orion immediately said, fearing they might result into yet another hopeless battle. The two then slowly backed down, scoffing at each other and turning their gazes sideways.

'Ha~ it feels like am with a bunch of little brats.' Orion heaved inwardly slightly touching his head, he could feel a vein pulsing as his head ached from headache.

"I think boron's right." Nexus suddenly blurted out, causing the other gods to stare at her.

"W-what do you mean am right?" Boron said with one of his brows raised up. He'd never expected that to come out from nexus mouth.

"Think about it~ Zack has always been an uncaring and irrational person but underneath he still has remourse and feelings which he just doesn't show." Nexus grinned softly.

"And your point?" Faize rolled his eyes.

"Ahem! What am saying is he always sees the bigger picture and will do whatever it takes to aid us the gods even if it costs him his own life." She added, still seeing the confused looks on their faces.

"You still don't get it.." she frowned, slightly shaking her head. "What am trying to say is Zack's behavior is not all good but still rational.. but what about kira?" She finally spilled the beans, out leaving them more confused.

"C-can you shed some light more dear?" Orion said intrigued by her words. He knew nexus wouldn't just spill out anything that comes to her mouth, so he felt she had a peculiar reason for this.

"Of course! what am just trying to say is~ kira's behavior has been strange these couple of day ever since he got back from that trip with his disciple."

"I mean.. when has he ever looked beyond other beings life to see the bigger picture?" Her words seemed to make sense, as they had known kira to be a god who cared about living things not destroying them.

"Come on... the greater good? Sacrifices must be made? That all sounds like a load of bullshit if you ask me." Her words definitely sent spirals in there heads, as looks of doubt and confusion grew more to their faces.

"How could you make such bold allegations against kira we all know you don't like him so why should we believe you." Faize questioned, already annoyed by nexus unprofound claims. he whole heartedly doubted everything thing she said now, blaming it in jealousy.

"You shouldn't.. look I don't care if you do or don't all am saying is he's not been himself lately." Nexus crossed her arms on her chest staring at the curtains.

"It's impossible! kira's more forward minded and good than any of us here." Faize boldly said. "He's just confused and shocked as we all are I mean we just destroyed one of our freaking planets."

"He's alright." Faize muttered underneath his breath. He couldn't possibly imagine kira having a hand in any of this. They weren't that close, but they still talked about casual stuff. Hell the latter had even given him a few pointers on how to utilize his skills, by occasionally sparing with him in duel friendly matches.

"I think she's right." Orion softly spoke, which caused everyone to gasp except for nexus who just grinned widely.

"O-rion you can't possibly be serious about what she said.. I mean you of all people should know kira better than any of us." Faize stood up, but was sat back down by Orion who gently tapped his shoulders. Orion then casually sat down on the table, facing all the gods present as his face was grim. Looking at him, they all knew what was happening as he was bearing a grim news.

"A few days ago I got a very important information concerning one of us. The informant was discrete so I couldn't track her down but I do however know she was a female." Orion paused, rubbing his white beard gently.

"What did she say?" Freya asked with worry in her eyes. This whole thing was just getting more and more interesting for her, as she dived in more to the matter.

"Well.." Orion continued. "She told me something I never wanted to hear..."

"The gods have long taken power only for themselves oppressing the weak ones and trampling on them like mere ants."

"But not again.. the gods will fall and a new order will rise all thanks to one of you." Orion bitterly spoke, as the room fell silent. Everyone was trying to grasp their head on what he just said, as it all didn't seem to make sense to them.

'A traitor amongst the gods? Impossible!' Never in a quad zillion years, would the common thought ever cross any of their minds. It was too much of an allegation to hold, as none of the gods would ever take likely to that rubbish.

"C-come on guys that information is surely false.. kira can't possibly have a connection with the death of that God. i-it's just too much to bear." Faize held his head tightly. It felt as if he was losing his mind, as everything seemed to be happening so fast as of late.

"They're just messing with us." He softly muttered.

"We're not blaming anyone here faize we're just stating the obvious." Orion calmly spoke.

"B-but what about Zack and her!" Faize pointed to nexus, who just sat there not minding him in the slightest.

"Look we're not pointing any fingers here ok.. that information say's there's a mole amongst us. It could be any of us for fuck sake." Boron stated, causing each if them to stare at one another weirdly.

"Come on people don't you see what they're trying to do.. they're trying to make us turn against each other. And it's damn well working." Freya shouted, smacking some senses into their head.

"I mean we're gods aren't we? meant to be strong and resilient not cracking under any pressure!" Freya yelled speaking with confidence. She had managed to get everyone's mind to clear up a bit from their foggy chains, as she could begin to sense the hostility growing between them.

"Look I know everyone's scared even though we don't show it. But we're not meant to pick on ourselves this moment. instead we have to come together and figure a way out through all this." Freya took the bull by the horns, as she spoke like a true leader.

"She has a point." Nexus softly said. Even though she had a cold and bad attitude towards people, she was still reasonable as her loyalty was with the gods.

"Yeah who cares about some stupid allegations." Boron chuckled nervously.

"I think it's best if we forget about this for now.." Orion added. "But we'll surely keep an eye on all the gods including ourselves just in case." Orion stated to which they nodded in response. They had managed to put behind their differences, as they put their head together to achieve a solution.

Orion being the god of knowledge was proud of Freya, as he hadn't expected her to speak like that with so much knowledge.

He was thankful and lucky she had managed to calm the situation down, as this was what he'd feared from the onset when he received the mysterious info.

Orion as a god having lived far more older than the rest of the gods, found it strange how he hadn't recognized that female's voice. He had a gut instinct that the female was from the dark realm, or a messanger of the dark realm at least.

'I fear a greater evil has awakened.' He inwardly thought. Worshipers were meant to pray to their gods for help, when in trouble. but Orion right now wished he had someone to pray to, as the gods really needed prayers.

"And remember whatever we say here remains here." Orion said staring at each of them, especially faize.

"Of course." Faize muttered slightly.

"Good! now let's all drink and celebrate." Orion weirdly spoke, grabbing a piece of bread from the table and shoving it into his mouth. Nexus and Freya followed his lead, as they carefully ate the other delicious items on the table.

"Y-you don't believe it's kira right?" Faize gently tugged on boron's cloth.

"I don't know.. look I know you trust him as much as we do but people can change." Boron softly said, biting a piece of cake by the tray in front. Faize hand slowly left borons cloth as he stared forward, his mind drifting off to who the traitor was amongst the gods.
