Chapter 8

In the control room:

"What the hell is going on here! Why aren't there any ANGELS out there? There's a mammoth out there and you fools are just sitting here!" The generals for the ANGELS are referred to as 'Principals'. The Principal of the current choir of ANGELS was yelling furiously at the people in the control room.

"Sir, we are trying to get any ANGELS out there, but they are all undertrained and-"

"So what are we supposed to do, huh? Just stand here while the building gets torn down? How are you qualified for this job?"

"Sir!" Another one said, "An ANGEL is currently out on the field, its- wait- how are they on the field?"

"Stop stalling and tell me who's out there!"

"It's the ARKAngel, sir,"

"How is that possible? They don't have a secondary pilot?"

"I don't understand either, and they have a different name now?"

"What do you mean by another name?"

"They're calling themselves Orion."

"Try to get in there, we need to listen and see what's going on there!"

"I'm in, sir. ARKAngel! Who is your secon-"

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Everyone in the room went silent as they listened to the screams.

"WAAAAA- . . . AAAAAAAAA! WHAT AM I DOING!"

"WHY ARE YOU YELLING YOU'RE DOING FINE!"

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The Principal slowly covered his face with his hands while listening to the two fighting.

On the battlefield:

Melony was currently piloting the ARKAngel, oblivious to the people trying to get them to stop. Meruem was giving her words of encouragement as they tried to get their footing.

"Yeah just like that, easy with the boosters, go a little to the left!"

"Like this? I have no idea what I'm doing!"

"You're doing fine, all you need to do is give me enough power to blast that demon to hell, got it?"

"Yeah, I think so, is it going to hurt if we get hit?"

"Not for you, since I'm connected to Orion, I'll be the only one that feels it."

"Great . . .so you're basically Orion now?"

"I suppose."

They finally made it to the battle zone, right as they saw something fall from the sky and hit the ground. It was a MINEL, its black body wriggled and writhed, fighting with itself, before uncurling into a strange insectoid shape.

"It's bigger than I thought." Melony said nervously.

"It's your first time, so don't worry about it."

". . . That's what sh-"

"Not the time."

"Right, sorry."

The MINEL screeched at them, before running at an incredible speed towards the facility.

"Come on! We got this!" Orion said, running towards the giant.

Orion tried to punch the monster, but Melony didn't input enough power, so their punch was easily blocked. In retaliation, the beast grabbed Orion, and smashed them against the building. Orion groaned against the force and tried to push away from the monster, but without power, he was useless.

"Focus Mel! Gah! This bastard! Mel, I need more power! Get a hold of yourself!"

"I-I don't know what to do! I can't do this!"

"You want me to make up some sob story for you? I'm not going to be cliche and say that you can, if you can't, you can't! Either you grow up and help me out, or get out and let me do this by myself! Arg!"

"By yourself? No way! You're going to get yourself killed!"

"We're both going to get killed if you don't do something!"

"But what if I put too much power and you hurt yourself?"

"None of my other pilots did that, and they're the ones that got killed!"

"Damn you, alright you crazy bastard, blame this on yourself!"

"Who are you talking to? Me, or the monster we'll be sending to hell?"
