PT. Chapter one

Sahra!!, matildaa!!. Where are you!! Queen portia screamed she had lost her crew when she went to free her bowel. George!!, kendrik!! she called out again but there was no response. Only rustling of leaves.

It was the second year she was attending their annual hunting ceremony and it was compulsory for the Queen to attend.

The Queen sat down on the floor in despair, this was the third year of her being married to king Charles and she hadn't still given him a child or infact gotten pregnant.

A bitter laugh escaped her lips. Probably he would get a new wife, Probably one fairer, one that can willed a sword better, or one that will bear him a son or perhaps a child, she thought

Portia didn't want to get married to the king. She was in love with her father's Councillor,She could sill remember how much she cried and begged her father when he told her she was to marry king Charles.

Though she was heartbroken not getting to marry her love, she was able to make room for him in her heart,The king was totally smitten with her when they got married that she couldn't help but fall for him.

But things started changing after a year and they was still no news of the king siring a child, At first they were hopeful, but the second year had run out still there was no news of her getting pregnant.

The king had stopped visiting her Chambers, she would sleep alone every night.

Every day she would go to his study to see him, but he would send the guard to turn her away, This morning was the first she had set her eyes on him for two months straight, and she ends up lost in the woods

No I have to find a way back, portia said pulling her self up.

It was already getting dark and she knew it would become more unsafe for her if doesn't find her way.

She had been walking for what had felt like years still there was no hope for her. The woods has become colder or perhaps it was the part of the forest she had found herself.

Creak! She turned to see what was there instead what she saw had given her the fright of her life. A shadow was walking towards her.

She sprinted deeper into the woods hoping to loose whatever was following her, but she stopped abruptly when she saw it right in the front of her.

It was dark, it didn't have a face, had two horns on its head, and a tail peeping out from behind it's butt.

She took slow steps backwards but the creature would take a step towards her every time she took one, she fell to the ground still trying to get away from it, but whatever that was had it's own plans, It crouched down to her level, used one of his clawed hands to touch her face.

I most say you really are a pretty thing, the creature growled, i wonder what your soul would taste like,

The creature said licking it's lips with it weirdly long tongue.

Potia was scared shirtless, she knew this was the end for her.

Just as it was about to sink its fang into her a loud cry sounded in the forest and the creature disappeared.

She was so grateful to whatever was that sound that had saved her, only that the cry continued,

She was scared of whatever was that was crying but she attracted to what it was, she followed the cry until she got to the source, she was shocked to see a baby, no more that some hours old, she seemed to have been abandoned.

She was wailing swinging both her little limbs, she appeared hungry, and there was a kind of birth mark on her ankle, but it looked more like a tattoo.

She picked the little one up and wrapped her in her shawl, you are safe now dear she said rocking the baby in her arms, at least she hoped

She started to find her way out of the forest after some hours, the sat down by a tree, and hugged the baby to her chest.

She fell asleep hugging the baby to her chest.

She woke up to leaves rustling, she baby in her arms had been disturbed by the sound and started wailing

She rocked the baby hoping to calm her but her wail became louder, it was dawn already, she wished there was something to feed the little one with, but there was nothing

Just hang in there little one she said, trying to calm the baby, but her wailing became louder

Who is there a voice called out, she recognised the voice immediately to be her personal guard

I'm over here kendrik, she screamed hoping he had heard her

Queen portia!! the voice called out again.

I'm here she screamed again this time the person seem to have heard her

The baby's wail had reduced she was hungry and tired she had nothing to eat.

Queen portia's guards found her cradling an unknown baby in her arms. They were confused but none of them had the authority to question her,they however led her to the palace.

The king was pacing in his Chambers, he wasn't himself when it was confirmed that the Queen had gone missing in their ceremonial hunt.

He had been regretting how he treated her for the past few months. He didn't sleep a wink throughout the night.

Your majesty !! your majesty!! a cry sounded from outside the Kings Chambers. The Queen have been found, she is in her Chambers as we speak your highness.

The king chamber doors burts open as he heard that. He walked as fast as he could, almost run to her Chambers.

He pushed the doors open as he got there not waiting for the guards.

The Queen was sitting on her bed when he burst in she stood up only to be engulfed into the Kings embrace.

A cry detached them from their passionate embrace.

The king had confusion etched on his face as he watched the Queen pick up a baby.

She cradled the baby in her arms, hoping to get her to fall asleep, she had gotten one of her maids to feed her immediately she got into the palace.

Well dear I'm still waiting for an explanation, he said, Since the Queen hadn't said anything since she picked the baby up.

Shh she is falling asleep the Queen said placing her finger on his lips

He waited patiently till she had fallen asleep.

She gently laid the baby on the bed, and pulled her husband to the other side of the bed so they don't disturb the sleeping baby.

She began to narrate what had happened to her in the woods and how the baby had saved her.

Charles please before you decide anything, portia said placing the Kings hands in hers, i want you to know that I love this baby. From the moment I held her in my arms she became mine, please let's keep her

I really want to understand you love, i really want to, but you are not thinking clear now, the king said removing his hands from hers.

Charles please wait, she said holding his hand, please look at me

He looked at her teary face

You know since I married you I haven't asked you for anything, she said but now she said going on her knee please let's keep her.

Charles couldn't understand how his wife could feel so much for a child, she met barely for barely a day

From the moment I held her small body in my arms Charles she became mine.... she paused all I could think of all night waste get her to safety, praying she would survive the night..., a gasp escaped her lips, I was never one to believe in miracles but she could be our miracle Charles please I beg of you, she said sobbing

Seeing how much his wife wanted this baby he agreed.

He walked to where his wife had laid the baby and held her in his arms, Have you decided on a name yet he asked her, rocking the baby in his arm

Portia let out a grateful sob as she stood from where she had been kneeling, she nodes her head, and she touches the babies head, florish but we would call her flo

Well that is lovely name Charles agreed, welcome to your new home flo he said kissing her on the forehead.
