Currently on the sixth floor after easily clearing the first five, Shye moved even more boldly, especially after sensing Ian's hero crest.

He felt confident in his ability to locate and rescue his friends primarily because heroes could sense each other's crests within a certain range. 

As long as Shye got close enough, he knew he could pinpoint their location with ease. 

It was almost like having a built-in, modern-day GPS leading him straight to his friends.

Naturally, since Shye could already sense his friends, they, too, could sense him.

Ian and Kiin, upon suddenly detecting the presence of another Valenzian Hero behind them, reacted in different ways.
