Influential connections

Third person's P. O. V

"Jane you have been removed from the waiting list for the advertisement," the same organizer who kicked out Chloe announced this in front of a room full of models and makeup artists.

"What do you mean you removed Jane? What is her fault?" Dave asked walking towards the organizer.

"We checked the CCTV footage and we found out that it was Jane who attacked Chloe first and she fell on the ground purposely. Chloe didn't do anything it was all Jane's acting. And we must say your mistress has a great acting skill to convince us all to believe her. But we won't tolerate such viciousness," he paused for a few moments before continuing, "Also she has been banned from our company she cannot participate in any of our future projects because of giving false information," he finished.

"What do you mean by false information?" Dave asked knitting his brows. Jane is the top model of his company if she gets banned that means his company will be banned as well. And he can't lose such a big client and bear the losses. He glared at Jane with scorching red eyes before turning back to the organizer for an explanation.

"Jane stated in her information form that she isn't pregnant but in the video footage, we saw her claiming that she is pregnant. We cannot accept a misleading model in our company," the organizer walked away after finishing his statement. Dave gave Jane an angry look before running behind the organizer.

"Hey, Steve, wait up dude," Dave stopped the organizer in the hallway of the studio.

"What happened, man? We had a deal, then why are you removing Jane?" he asked the organizer.

"Man, I didn't know that your ex has connections with some powerful man. They threatened the owner of the company to remove Jane. Or else he will destroy our company. So we can't risk our company for you, I am sorry," Steve explained before leaving a shocked Dave standing there.

"That b*tch! How could she get influential connections suddenly? Had she contacted her father after all these years?" Dave said in a low voice that was audible only to him.

"Dave, what happened? Have you managed to convince the organizers?" Jane asked Dave when he returned to the dressing room. 

"Shut up you stupid woman. Why did you need to lie? Not only you got humiliated and banned yourself, you successfully managed to destroy the reputation of me and my company. Don't you dare to show me your face," Dave yelled at Jane making her flinch in fear. Tears started growing in her eyes but didn't care at all. He left the crying Jane and walked away alone.

"Please don't leave me, Dave," Jane pleaded but he didn't stop. When he was out of sight, Jane wiped off her tears and stomped her hills on the tiled floor.

"I won't let you go easily, Dave," she whispered with a evil smirk.

"Chloe, you b*tch, I will definitely make you pay for this," she said before roaming her eyes around the dressing room. Few models, makeup artists and hair dressers were still there enjoying the show. Jane glared at them one last time before leaving the studio.

Chloe's P. O. V

"Have heard the news?" Laura shouted from the living room before running to the kitchen.

"What news are you talking about?" I asked her showing no interest in her breaking news.

"Jane was kicked out from the same show for defaming you. Moreover she was banned from doing any project with the company in the future; so was Dave's company," she said with her voice beaming with happiness. 

I was baking some bread but stopped as soon as I heard the news from her. Dave is in this business for the last five years since he inherited the company from his father. His company has many big connections. Then how come his company got banned for such a small matter? On top of that, Jane was his top model, the face of his company; there was no way that he would let anyone ban her.

"Then how did it happen?" I asked myself but didn't realize that I was saying it loud and Laura heard me.

"What do you mean by how did it happen? The organizers rechecked the CCTV footage and found Jane guilty," Laura replied as if it was as she was thinking.

"No one can ban a model for lying Laura. There must be some big reason behind it," I expressed my thoughts to her.

"Or, there must have been some big person behind it," she winked at me. 

"What did you mean?" I asked her frowning.

"The rumors say that you have some big connections with some big-shot businessmen and you used your connections to get back at Jane and Dave for kicking you out of the auditions," Laura said and started laughing continuously. She took that for some joke. Only if she knew my true identity!

But I haven't contacted my father for the past few years. Then who helped me? Or was it just rumors?

"Where are you lost? Didn't you find it funny?" Laura asked me again and continued to laugh like a mad woman.

"What is so funny here?" I asked her placing my hands on my waist and making an angry face. But my angry face made her laugh even louder. 

"Only a fool will believe that you have some big connections. You are just a model with no family members. How could you get some connections?" Laura explained with a shrug.

"What if I have some connections with big people?" I asked her dancing my eyebrows while smiling sheepishly. She thought for a moment before replying to me.

"Oh, shit!" Laura cursed covering her mouth with her hands.

"Why are you cursing suddenly?" I asked her mockingly.

"I totally forgot about your husband. You said he has an assistant who completed all the formalities," she said with glistening eyes.

"Yes, he has. So what?" I was confused and getting angry at her.

"Soooo, it only means he is a rich man, and that makes him an influential person. Maybe he took revenge for his wife?" Laura said dreamily.

Did he really do all this to get revenge for me?
