The truth

Ashton pulled Adam from the room and led him to the outhouse. He made him sit down as they surrounded him with their seats.

"What is going on?" Adam asked them. "She was surely lying," he said not believing for one second that he was the man she was in love with.

"It didn't seem like it," Jace said. He was very good at reading people and he was sure that Chloe wasn't lying about her feelings for him. That and the fact that he stood so close to her he could her heartbeat rise when she spoke about Adam.

"She wasn't telling the truth. She tore the letter, I saw it myself," he said.

"Did you see her yourself? Did she tear the letter before your eyes?" Ash asked getting a feeling of what the problem could be.

"No, but..."

"But you can't be sure she is lying or not. It is possible she did it and was lying but it is also possible that she never saw your letters and wasn't the one who tore them," he explained to him.

"I am sure," he told confidently.
