Marriage contract

It was a bright and beautiful day, the sun was rising from the east making everything look beautiful. The flowers were blooming and the birds were singing in the background on top of a tree near the bedroom window of a sleeping beauty who just wanted to enjoy her sleep. She twist around the bed trying to tune down the noise the birds made but it didn't help.

She placed the pillow on top of her ear but she could still hear the bird's beautiful song, but to her who didn't want any disturbance from her sleep it sounded more like noise pollution. She angrily got out of bed and walked to the window, she opened it and screamed to the birds to shut up. On a normal day she would have enjoyed their song but today was not one of those days.

She was tired and exhausted from having to work double shifts the whole week to raise money for her brother. She has been working her butt off to help him raise money to help pay for the loans that he has. Her brother had taken a big sum of money from the neighborhood street gang to pay for all the necessary equipment he needed for school. Now he is having difficulties paying it back because he can't manage that many jobs in between his classes. The two of them have had each other to rely on ever since they were young.

Both their parents are very much alive but they are very simple people. They run a small restaurant in the city that doesn't make that much money. They can't afford to support them much since most of the money they make at the restaurant goes to her mother's medical expenses. Both Chloe and her brother Carlos have made it through their studies by getting scholarships. That is the reason why Carlos had to get loan to help himself, he could not bring himself to burden his parents with his problems.

Chloe went into the bathroom and did her morning routine and got ready for the day. She needs to go out for another job that she had signed up for today. The job will take the rest of her Saturday off but she doesn't mind it as long as she can get her brother out of the loan problem. Street gangs can be very dangerous when they don't get back their money on time and she had watched a lot movies to know what will happen to her brother if she doesn't help him. She couldn't bare to see her brother in any kind of problem.

She rushed downstairs to have breakfast and found a plate of pancakes and strawberry milk on the table with a note from her mother. The note was just a reminder that she should not leave the house before she had eaten every morsel of food in her plate. She smiled at her mother's choice of words and sat down to eat. Her mother was the best cook she knew and it was amazing how she always manage to get her to eat so much.

Chloe was not a pecky eater but she wouldn't eat just anything unless she knew who it was that cooked the food. She had watched this show where she had seen the cook spitting on a customer's food before serving it. He did that to so many dishes just because he was having a bad day and ever since then Chloe has stayed clear of restaurants as much as possible. Except for her mother's restaurant of course, she loved that place with all her heart.

She ate the food wholeheartedly and took her time to enjoy the flavor in her mouth. She finished eating and did the dishes before picking her bag and phone and heading out of the house. She took a cab on the road and closed her eyes to get some more sleep before she arrived at work. God knows that it has been long since she got some good rest but she can't complain because it is all for her brother. She can do anything for him, she was sleeping peacefully and dreaming about sleeping in a comfortable king sized bed with fluffy pillows.

It is amusing how her tired mind can only dream about sleep. The cab driver woke her up when they arrived at the address she provided, she got up and payed the cab fare before getting off. She was surprised to be standing in front of a seven star hotel that was way out of her league, she felt out of place just standing outside the hotel let alone if she enters inside.

Her friend Chelsea had told her that there was a job offer at that address that will only require her to work for the weekend and it is only for a few hours. But she doubted if she had come to right place or not, she took out her phone from her bag and dialed her friends number to confirm the address.

"Ummm hello Chels, I need your help. I think I wrote down the wrong address for the job thingy, mind telling me again." I asked in the sweetest voice I could master.

"Wow, you sound so cute when you are confused but sure thing. The address is *** hunter street, did you get it?"

"But isn't that like some rich people restaurant or something."

"It is but you need the job don't you and the pay is really nice so suck it up and go for it. It is in by the hotel pool and remember the hotel has five pools so don't get lost. I have to go my boss is coming, good luck!" she shouted on the phone and hung up.

'What is wrong with that girl, she tells me that the hotel has five pools and not to get lost but she won't tell me which pool it is. How am I supposed to find the right pool, I can't just ask around people will think I am some wanna be and they might look down on me when they find out I am here to look for work.' were the thought that run through her mind as she stood there watching the hotel hoping the ground will open up and swallow her before she humiliates herself.

She crossed her fingers and prayed for good luck but her nervousness never went away. She even thought of her brother to try and distract her mind but it was all pointless as she still anxious. She started counting sheeps in her mind as she took one step after the other. Her palms were sweaty but she kept going, she entered the hotel and felt accomplished once inside. It reminded her of highschool when she went to the rich kids school and had the chance to eat at such places during trips.

She wondered around the restaurant for thirty minutes before she found a pool. The pool was empty and when she stepped into the lorn a man in a black suit appeared in front of her and blocked her path. He stopped her from proceeding further unless she can provide some sort of identification and tell him why she was there. Chloe reached out into her bag and removed her ID card and showed it to him and informed him that she was there for an interview.

The man got on phone and called someone to inform them that there was a girl there and she claimed to have come for some job interview. The person on the other end of the call allowed him to let the girl in and it was then that he moved aside and Chloe entered the pool. She walked carefully as not to trip due to how nervous she was. Her mind kept yelling ' what job did Chelsea get me to come sign up for!' but her mind had no answer to her question.

The more she walked the more nervous she felt, her feet had become wubbly and they threatened to drop her but she kept on. She arrived by the pool side and froze and the magnificent sight she walked in on. A gorgeous looking man with muscles in all the right places and amazingly sculpted six packs walked out of the pool with only his shorts on. He looked so hot with the water dripping from his body and it sent Chloe's mind racing in all the wrong directions.

She was so caught up in her lust that she didn't realize that the man was talking to her. He called out to her but she didn't respond and kept on gazing at him with her mouth wide open.

"If you don't stop eating me with your eyes I will literally eat you up right here," she heard him whisper in her ear and her insides melted. His breath was so hot hitting her ear as he spoke sending shivers down her spine. He moved away from her and she shook her head to get her mind to function properly. She followed him to the chair and sat down to prevent herself from falling. "I think I just met my kryptonite." she whispered to herself.

"Since you are here it means that my secretary already explained everything to you but just to be clear we will go over everything one more time. You are here to work as my wife and that will require alot from you, I will explain everything myself so you understand." he said.

"Of course Sir I am al..." she stopped when she realized what he just said, the word 'wife' kept on repeating itself in her mind. "Wife?" she asked hoping she had heard him wrong.

"Yes, from now on you will be known as mrs. Adam Ross. I know that it is a big responsibility but that is why I asked my secretary to get an actress who isn't well known for the job. That way no one will suspect that you are just acting, I want you to read this marriage contract by tonight and bring it back to me tomorrow with your signature on it and let me know if there is anything you would like to add to the contract. We will get our marriage certificate tomorrow after you sign the papers. My secretary mentioned that you are in desperate need of money so I have written you a check of a half a million it is in the file. I will see you tomorrow." he said and left.

Chloe was having a heart attack and a brain mulfunction. She couldn't believe her luck, a half a million was no joke. She only needed to raise fifty thousand dollars but got a million dollars instead. She also couldn't get the name of that man out of her head as it was just the same as her highschool crush. "Adam Ross," she said and smiled.

She didn't get up to leave just yet she needed to read the contract and make sure that she really wasn't hallucinating. She read the contract word to word and made sure that she didn't miss a thing. She hated most of the condition that Adam set for her but she was not in a position to complain. It was clearly stated that it will last for three years and that was plenty of time to get him to fall for her and throw that contract away. For now she just needed to play her cards right and she might win the jackpot.

Getting this contract won't just help her to get the man she loves but also help her family out of their financial problems. Her mother will stop working and employ people to work for her instead and her brother won't lack for anything during his studies. She didn't wait another second and signed it, she kept it safely in her bag before she left to go back home.
