I will die
Paige talked Chloe into everything that she needed to do to become a good actress. She got her an acting coach to teach her how to act and they began the journey together. Paige needed Chloe to be successful as much as Chloe needed her guidance and with that in mind, they decided to help each other fulfill their goals.
Chloe worked hard to learn what it took to become an actress, she didn't change much of herself because she didn't feel comfortable with and remained her true self in terms of dressing and make-up. She visited her mother and father to pass the time and help them out in the restaurant. It made her happy to be with them and feel at home with them because her marriage wasn't going as she had planned.
She and Adam barely had time to talk to each other. With him in the office and avoiding Chloe out of guilt and Chloe's busy schedule they only met at dinner. They would give food together but they didn't speak to each other at all. Adam went as far as to move out of the room when it was becoming hard for him to face her.
Today was the day that she was going to see if all her work paid off or not. She has an audition at three to play the second lead in a romance movie. She woke up early and got ready for the day, wearing a white dress and heels she left the house to go and see Paige go rehearse her lines one more time before she goes for her audition. She was very nervous to act but it was what she had to do, it was Adam's wish and she had to fulfill it for his sake.
She couldn't let her in-laws down by failing as a wife to their son. She might have encountered a minor setback but she was not going to let that weigh her down. She will rise above every challenge that he gives her until he admits defeat and accepts her love. The driver dropped her off at Paige's house and she went inside after taking a deep breath.
"Wow, you are here early!" exclaimed Paige.
"I couldn't sleep much."
"Chloe are you okay? I am just asking because you look sad and that can affect your audition later on," she said sadly.
"Yes, I am fine. Don't worry about me as I won't let my work be affected by my issues," she replied trying to calm Paige down. They both had worked very hard to reach that point that she couldn't disappoint them. She took a seat and had a glass of water to drink to calm her nerves and forget about Adam.
She spent the day rehearsing the role she was auditioning for and taking breaks once in a while to watch the television. She got her thoughts of Adam far away from her mind and concentrated plainly on the task that she had. When the clock hit 2 pm they left Paige's apartment and went in search of a taxi.
Arriving at the building where the auditions were being held they entered the building. Chloe was super nervous about acting for the first time in front of an audience. She was worried about forgetting her lines or making a fool out of herself in front of people. Her palms were sweating out of fear.
Paige took the lead and led them to the audition room. There was a long line outside the room of people waiting for a chance to audition for different roles in the movie. She took a seat after Paige and waited for her turn to arrive. People went into the room one after another, some came out crying while others were confident in their skills and we're sure that they would get the part.
Chloe's turn soon arrived and she got up from her seat and entered the room her nerves shooting up more than before. She took small steps until she found herself standing in front of the judges.
"Chloe Blossoms, nice name. You are here to audition for the part of Lara in the movie Unconditional love. Act for us scene four of the play please," said the man in the middle who looked to be in his late forties. She remembered the words of the scene and the feeling that she needed for the scene but when she opened her mouth words wouldn't come out. She tried to talk but her fear took over and made her voice disappear.
She felt so scared of losing everything and getting left behind by the love of her life when she couldn't act. She got emotional and turned around to leave and bumped into someone on her way out. She looked up to him and saw her favorite actor holding her, giving her support as not to fall. She stared into his eyes and her tears rolled down her cheeks, it was such a good feeling to see her favorite actor in person let alone being held by him.
He reached out his hand and wiped her tears for her but didn't let her go. She froze when his hand touched her skin and did not move.
"Why are you crying my dear Lara?" he asked.
Chloe frowned not understanding why he was calling her Lara. It took her a few seconds to understand that he was performing a line from the scene she was asked to act. She didn't even think about it much and just let the words come out of her mouth.
"How am I supposed to react when I find that you are going to marry someone else. Should I clap for you and celebrate?" she asked him in return.
"You are my best friend and it would make me very happy if you could be happy for me," he said not breaking his eye contact.
"Best friends have feelings too and you know that I love you then how could I see you with someone else. I can't and won't be able to bear losing you. I will die if you go away from me," she said and broke down in tears. As she was acting those last few lines, she imagined having to say those words to Adam when their contract expired. She couldn't imagine living her life without him but it was a possible reality she had to face.
Ty took Chloe out of the room when she continued to cry. He embraced her and comforted her as they walked out, he bowed his head in respect to his boss who stood in the corner watching the auditions. Adam nodded his head to Ty and let him leave with Chloe.
