Her dream job

It was already noon but the new bride was still sound asleep in her bed. The maid came into the room to wake her up to have breakfast or lunch, she was confused on what to serve her. She shook her gently and she opened her eyes.

Chloe woke up feeling refreshed and happy, she had dreamt about Adam the whole night without end. She stretched her hands and got up from the bed.

"Good afternoon Miss," the maid greeted.

"Good afternoon," she responded before it hit her like ice cold water that it was noon and not morning. She was speechless. 'I can't believe i overslept on my first day as a wife. That was definitely a bad first day impression.' she scolded herself. She looked around the room but couldn't find her so called husband around.

"Sir already left for work," the maid said seeming to read her mind. "Will you have your food now or should I serve it after you freshen up?" she asked.

"Just serve it and I will freshen up quickly and come." she replied.

"Okay Ma'am." she said and left the room locking the door behind her as she left. Chloe rushed to the bathroom and took a cold shower as punishment for waking up late. She vowed to take a cold shower every time she wakes up late, she got out of the shower shivering. She dried herself with a towel and got ready, she wore a white pencil skirt that hugged her body revealing her perfect figure really nicely and accomplished the look a black blouse. She left her hair loose and it dropped on her shoulders giving her a sexy look altogether. She put on her doll shoes and took her bag and rushed down to eat.

She ate the food in a hurry and only had a few bites before she up and felt the house. The driver offered to drop her off but she declined and went on her own. She walked awhile before she found a cab and went home, her mother must be furious by now. She closed her eyes and leaned back on the seat, her mind tried to come up with a story to tell her mother. She couldn't just walk up to and say 'hey mom, so guess what I got married yesterday and now I am living with my husband.' She was not used to lying and preferred having to not tell lies but the truth this time was sensitive and she had no choice but to lie.

The cab arrived at her house and she paid him before going inside. She was nervous about lying to her mom, I mean the woman raised her all her life and it doesn't look good for her to lie to her and she might be able to tell that she is lying and then she will be done for. She reached the door and took out spare keys from her bag and opened the door. She got in and looked around and no one was home. It seems like her parents had gone to the restaurant, she didn't stay long inside the empty house. She left to go see her friend Chelsea to thank her for getting her the job.

She got her phone to call her where she was. The call was answered on the first ring. "Helloo," said a cheerful voice on the other end.

"Hello Chels, where are you?"

"Wow, is this how to talk to your friend, you won't even ask me how am doing. I don't feel like telling you where I am until you start being a good friend to me." she complained and Chloe was sure that she was pouting on the other end of the call. She smiled at how much of a drama queen her friend was.

"I was only asking so I could come see you to check up on you but since you don't wanna tell me then its fine. I will just find something else to do." she said.

"I am a nice person and I take pity on you since you're clearly helpless, I am at Beam cafe." she responded.

"Okay I will be there in five minutes."

She got a cab and rushed to Beam cafe to see her friend. She entered the cafe and looked around for her friend and spotted her at the corner with someone. She made her way to them and sat down opposite the two of them.

"Took you long enough to get here. Anyway Chris this is my best friend Chloe and Chloe this is Chris my boyfriend." she said making Chloe choke on the water she was drinking. She had no idea that her friend had a boyfriend and it came as a surprise for her.

"Nice to meet you," said Chris as he reached out his hand to her for a handshake. She took his hand and greeted him back.

"So Chloe how did the job go, I hope it wasn't difficult." she asked in a worried tone.

"No, the job was perfect and I didn't have any problems at all."

"You know that woman that I got in contact with mentioned that the job was delicate. She needed an actress who wasn't popular so I recommended you the minute she mentioned the pay was good. I didn't know if you still had your acting skills from back in highschool so I was nervous you would not get the job."

"It is fine, you helped me out and it meant a lot to me."

They had there coffee and made some small talk here and there as Chloe and Chris got to know each other. "So Chloe I was thinking, Chris has this really awesome friend who I think would be perfect for you. He is nice and sweet, I'm sure you will like him once you meet him."

"You I am sure I will like him but I am looking to be in a relationship right now." she replied and continued eating her cake. She can't possibly tell her friend that she is a married woman now. And that it is wrong for her to be seeing anyone else. This was also in the contract that for the next three years the two of us will not see anyone else until the contract expires.

"Are you sure,I mean at least meet the guy once and then decide what you want." she said.

"Yeah Chloe, I agree with Chels and it won't hurt you to see him. Just meet him before you decide as he might surprise you." Chris added and she couldn't find a way out of the situation. If this continues then she will end up on a date with this man and it will be in violation of the contract.

"I didn't want to say this infront of your boyfriend since you and I haven't talked about it yet but I am seeing someone." she said looking at her plate.

"What! Who is it? Where did you meet and how did it happen. Spill everything from the beginning and don't leave out any details especially if when you plan to introduce me to him."

"It wa..." she was about to come with a lie to tell her when her phone rang and she had to answer it.

"Hello," she said to unknown person calling her, normally she doesn't answer unknown calls but this called saved her from such a serious situation so she answered to thank him.

"Hello. Am I speaking to mrs. Chloe Blossom?" the caller asked.

"Yes, this is her."

"Good then. I am Helena from Ross entertainment industry and I am calling about the job you applied for. I would like to inform you that you've got the job and if possible could you come to our main branch right now."

"Yes, sure I will be there in fifteen minutes." she replied and bid farewell to her friend and left the cafe. She rushed to the office and made sure she was there on time, she asked the reception where to find Helena and they directed her. She reached Helena's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in," she heard and opened the door and went inside. "Aah, Miss Chloe you sure are on time. It is good that you are punctual as the person you will be working under is very much time oriented." she said and offered her a seat.

"Come on, let's not waste any time or you might get fired on your first day. You are going to be working as a secretary for the boss, he has ten secretaries and one of them has recently been fired so the spot is vacant. As his secretary you will be assigned your duties by his PA but there is one thing you should bare in mind. The boss doesn't like people in his office so don't frequent there if you wanna keep your job. Do you understand?" she asked and Chloe nodded

"Then let's go, I will introduce you to the boss." she said and got up while Chloe followed behind her. She was so excited to get to work in an office that is so big, her dream job was right at her finger tips.
