Chapter 16: part 2

The area was surrounded by glowing pillars of precious stones. The floors were tiled and it reflected the beauty of the pillars aswell as the chunks of rocks that were almost all over. The room which contained these things was huge. In the centre of it was Ceal, who stood there completely flabbergasted. 

      'What happened?' 

      As important as that question was he was still being stared down by a pair of purple eyes that had a feint glow. Ceal drew his katana rapidly from his sheath and proceeded to slash the strange humanoid creature but it disappeared at once. Only to reappear behind him and blow him away using some kind of force. Ceal went flying into one of the pillars. The tall dark creature kept staring at Ceal quietly as he forced himself out of the large pillar.

      Suddenly it was distributed by Alsi who came in from above, attempting to double slash the creature with his dual swords. But then again it vanished, leaving Alsi to let his swords collide with the floor. Alsi started to look around for the creature only to get hit by a huge piece of rock that also drove him to a pillar. After its attack the creature, once more, just kept staring at Alsi. The creature then abruptly swayed left to reveal a staff that continued to assault it. Serena kept on swinging and spinning her staff graciously to try and land a hit on the creature which evaded all the attacks five to eight times before it vanished once more.

       It suddenly showed up near the ceiling that was supported by the beautiful pillars and it began to emit a red aura. The rocks which were all on the ground started to rise as the creature beckoned them towards it. Alsi, Ceal and Serena prepared themselves for what was to come next. The rocks all started to orbit around the creature. Soon enough everyone found themselves dodging oncoming fire as the creature started to bombard them with the dozens of rocks that orbited it. 

      Alsi, Ceal and Serena were all trying to get a hit on the creature. Each went their own way as they dodged the rocks repeatedly. Alsi proceeded to dash forward, whilst Ceal used the stones as platform. Serena took cover behind a pillar and started to go through her backpack. There went Alsi, maneuvering left and right, jumping up and somersaulting as if he were in a subway surfer game. 

     He ran around the creature to escape its line of sight. At the same time Ceal was slashing the huge rocks in half as he evaded some and utilized others to climb higher. Alsi started to jump from pillar to pillar like a cat whilst at the same time using them as cover. They all had their own strategy, aiming to destroy this creature. 

      Once Ceal managed to get to the same level of height as the creature he forced his foot on an oncoming stone and went above it. The creature tried to defend by throwing huge rocks in his direction but Ceal wasn't going to have that anymore. He stretched out his free hand and a blue spark-like aura started to emerge from his body. 

      "Kine control: PULSE!!!" He called out.

      *BA-DUMP!*

       The sound resounded throughout the place. The speeding chunks of rock were pushed back to their sender by the force generated from the attack. The creature kept on staring in Ceal's direction as the force got closer and closer. Just as it was about to hit, the creature vanished leaving Alsi vulnerable to the attack that had just being launched. Shock widened the eyes of both Ceal and Alsi. Alsi got thrown back to the ground brutally.

      While all this was taking place Serena came out of hiding with a pair of white gloves that matched her outfit. The glove had metallic plates on it and on each glove was a green jewel fixed to it. She held on to her staff faithfully only to find the creature missing from its original position. She was only greeted by the sight of Alsi groaning on the floor and Ceal looking around in confusion. 

     She then saw Ceal look straight at her with a discretional expression. Serena immediately spinned her staff as she turned around and thrust it at an oncoming rock. As the rock broke into pieces the dark humanoid creature was now visible. She started to spin her staff around continuously. Destroying any threat that dared to hit her. This proceeded into a dance as she kept on spinning her staff at amazing speeds.

      The green jewels on her gloves started to glow and a breeze started to circulate around the large room. It started to get stronger and stronger. Alsi and Ceal held on to the nearest pillars they could find when Serena called out…

      "Kine Control: PATH OF THE WIND!"

      The air started to flow violently through the whole room. All the rocks that were used to bombard them started to follow the current of the air as Serena continued to dance on with her staff.  The creature was finally giving in to the strength of the current so it dropped the rocks and started to teleport. However, it appeared that wherever it teleported within the room, it faced the violent wind.

       Serena finally believed she had the upper hand. The only thing that was left was to make a hit. But then suddenly, there it was… a spark crawler, giving her the same weird look that Alsi fell victim to,and she saw it in slow motion…

      *BOOM!*

      Serena was blown away by the detonation and the  violent wind suddenly stopped. She tumbled across the floor and her staff was displaced a few meters away from her. The rocks were thrown all the way to the edges of the room.

      "Serena!" Ceal yelled as he and Alsi rushed towards her.

      "I'm fine.." she said as she got up. The creature resumed its stone throwing and Serena dived for her staff as she took cover. Ceal and Alsi who were almost close to her also took cover. The rocks rained down relentlessly. Until they suddenly stopped and there was a deafening silence after the halt. They all waited a few moments to be sure that they could come out…

      'Okay, now's the chance!' 

      They all thought. Unfortunately they were greeted by skeletons spawning everywhere. Their expressions were riddled with shock and dismay. 

      "You've got to be kidding me!!!" Alsi whined.

      "As expected from the dungeon boss himself." Said Serena as she  caught up to Alsi and Ceal. 

      "This is going to suck." Said Ceal.

      "Huh…if only you stayed out of my way, my sneak attack would have worked and I would've killed it by now. But nooo, you just had to use your useless abilities and throw me off!"

      "Can't you shut your stupid mouth for one second!? Hm? Just one!? Because I am freaking tired of taking your shit every single day!."

      "Guys!"

      They stopped arguing when Serena yelled.

      " There are skeletons spawning infront of us, there is no time for you to fight like some married couple!"

      "What! This guy!?" They exclaimed in unison.

      " My point is we have to beat this thing other wise we're going to fail ou ery first mission! How will you guys manage to face dad once he learns we failed to clear this dungeon?"

      They both kept quiet. It was an indirect way of acknowledging the fact that she was right, especially for Alsi.The skeletons started to attack, the dark creature just floated above them, keeping his opponents under surveillance. 

      "They're coming! If we don't assist eachother this time we'll just end up messing up this mission!" Said Serena as she took her stance.

      "Alright then. But what are we gonna do about that thing and its teleportation?" Said Ceal as he readied his katana.

      " I'll deal with that problem, but I need back up…Serena?" Alsi prepared his short swords.

      "Don't worry about it. I'll deal with that problem." She replied to Alsi. The skeletons got closer. Alsi and his teammates didn't wait for them. Ceal was the first to make a move by using his left hand to fire of the same wave of force that he did previously. The skeletons were scattered in all directions, making a path for Alsi and Serena to get to their target. Of course they still had to take dow a few skeletons here and there but their objective was clear and nothing was stopping them from getting there. 

       When Alsi was near to the creature floating above them he didn't bother getting close enough to hit it. He instead coated his swords in flames and threw fire at it in repeated arcs. However he missed as the creature telepolorted once again. It ended up near a pillar to the east. Alsi threw another arc of fire at it and it again teleported. Alsi then looked at Serena…

      "Keep throwing long ranged attacks at it wherever it teleports." He said.

      "Sure thing" She said as she fought off a skeleton with her staff. Green sparks started to flow all aroi d her and she prepared to fire. Back to back they stood, taking 180 degrees of vision to each of themselves. Alsi couldn't help but chuckle at his discovery.

      "I know your secret, you bastard…you'll have nowhere to run to soon…"
