I rolled to the ground lifting my bronze sword in defence. The Minotaur charged me head on, I steered left of it at the last second, being left in the frenzy of dust that surrounded me. I turned around watching the Minotaurs golden eyes glow in pure rage. I stood up and raised my sword heavily breathing. The Minotaur started to charge and I knew straight away what to do. The minotaur was about one metre away before I jumped in the air and swung my sword down, SLASH! The minotaurs head poofed out of existence and its body dropped to the ground, oozing gold blood slowly onto the dusty arena floor. All around me I heard cheers surrounding me, I looked around and happily gleamed with pride as I waved to everyone.

My name is Owen, and you are probably wondering in what world Minotaurs exist, well they do in mine. I have been living my whole life in this world with other people like me, we are called demigods, half mortal, half god. It's pretty cool.

I walked into my cabin and saw my friends standing in there "SURPRISE!" they all yelled loudly.

"Hey! What are you doing here guys?" I asked as I hugged my best friends Amy, Luke, and Chloe.

"You have birthdays remember?" Amy said as she patted me on the back.

"Oh, what day is it?" I asked trying to remember the date.

"Your birthday you idiot!" Luke said as he took me over to the gifts they had got me. I looked at the amazing gifts they had gotten me.

"Open them silly!" Chloe yelled impatiently. I did as she asked and opened up one of the wrapped packages.

"A new shield!" I yelled excitedly as I raised the shield in pose.

"You still have one more left!" Amy yelled as she picked up the next one and plopped it in my hands.

I opened the package and my eyes lit up. My fingers ran across the shiny celestial bronze fused with silver blade. I knew they must've paid a lot of money to find one of these swords. "Oh... My go-" I said as I hugged all my friends a second time.

"We are glad you like it!" Chloe said smiling brightly.

"Strike a pose Owen!" Luke said as he pulled his camera out. I blushed and struck an Neil Armstrong pose. (In our earth he was the first to kill a monster in space). Luke clicked the button and the room flashed bright white.

Out in the middle of 'school' I saw the janitor cleaning the chariot track for the next lineup of chariot horses that were so fast they nearly matched the speed of Lamborghinis. Chariot races where more of a novelty since the modern age. But nevertheless we still had to learn in case a monster or enemy challenged us (low possibility). I walked pass the trophy case room and there I was, three awards that I had won in other tournaments less like the one I participated in this morning.
