Marlowe looked skeptical that Emma could really make a difference in nature and animal conservation budget, but he appreciated her enthusiasm. So, he showed his rare smile and said, "Good luck!"
"Why, thank you!" Emma could feel the change in his attitude and she smiled back. "I will make sure the animals get what they deserve."
She poked her head inside and tried to see around. Marlowe could guess that she was looking for his animals.
"Lyla almost recovered completely, the others are roaming around the forest. Alex Chu went out to play," he explained without she asked him the question.
"Ah, I see." Emma nodded happily. "I just need to know they are okay."
"Why wouldn't they be okay?" Marlowe shrugged. "I am taking good care of them."
"I know. Well, then.. I have to go. My friends will come tomorrow and talk to you about the project. See you tomorrow." Emma decided it was time to go. There were still so many things she needed to do.
