Doctor Rut selects Lux and a few others to witness secretive experiments, plunging Lux, a brilliant student with dreams of a promising future, into a nightmare. She couldn't waste any more time unless Darin might have to go through some extreme pain.

Lilia came out of hiding, standing near the doorway. Several bullets slammed into the wall next to her.

More gunshots echoed throughout the room.

She glanced around. Some of the robbers had entered an office, while most of them remained outside.

The man stood in front of Darin. "You wasted one minute." He shot a bullet into Darin's leg.

Lilia gasped, turning away.

"Get out of our way!" the man yelled. "Drop your gun, or I will shoot him again."

Lilia pointed the gun at the man. "If you shoot him again, I will shoot you dead."

"I don't care what you do," he said. "But you're going to die either way." You should know by now that there aren't enough of you to take on all of us."
