Handling Drunkards

"I can't believe I'm finally taking you to work, and you even brought sir founder's great granddaughter!" Hanzel exclaimed as he excitedly looked back and forth at Sicarius and Venus.

The year had reached its end, and today the founder had decided that Sicarius and Venus should have a day off. Sicarius had no problem with it, as he had the chance to finally go to his father's workplace at the police barracks. Venus tagged along because according to the Founder she had not been outside the tower at all since her birth. So the Founder was very adamant on it, his last words to Sicarius were;

"You take care of her very well boy, or I will end you!" The old man said with wide eyes, "Now go! Leave!"

And so Sicarius had no choice but to babysit today.

"Where are we going, uncle Hanzel?" Venus asked, watching the city streets in awe as the car drove by.

"We're going to the police barracks, so I can show this boy of mine how cool I am too." Hanzel smirks, "Maybe he'll decide to come with me to work everyday instead of training."

Venus took a second to process this, then she understood what might happen if Sicarius liked the police barracks was nothing she would ever want.

"I think police barracks suck!" Venus suddenly says, visibly appearing hostile at the idea of a police barracks now.

Hanzel smiled sheepishly, "Come on, what's with the sudden hate? Police are cool."

"No!" Venus quickly yells,

Hanzel could only chuckle while Sicarius remained silent, not caring for the two of them. He simply watched the citizens of the City of Angels stroll nonchalantly through the streets.

To kill every living being on the Earth he had to destroy the planet, or kill them all in large scale wars. Both required immense power, but only one could be done for now.

Large scale wars. This war between the humans and the Sins was perfect for him, however, there had to be a certain order to it. The Sins couldn't be wiped out without the help of the priests, and only the humans had such beings, therefore he had to wipe out the Sins with the humans. Only after that can he proceed to massacre the rest of the population.

For now he had to observe human military firearms, and this was the perfect opportunity.

"We should have just went to some place else!" Venus again, whined.

"If you don't want to go, we could always just leave you by the road." Sicarius said,

This was an opportunity that he could not lose, as he needed to learn how to use them and most importantly learn how to fight against the humans as early as possible.

"Shut up, you meanie!" Venus huffed,

"Now now, kiddos." Hanzel said, "Let's calm down."

Venus stuck out her tongue at Sicarius, continuously attempting to annoy him, until she spots a dog outside from Sicarius's window. She quickly shoves Sicarius aside, not caring for personal space.

Venus widened her eyes as if she saw gold, "Oooohhh, that's so cute! Carius! What is that!"

Sicarius's planning came to a halt as he was tasked with the responsibility of answering the little girls questions about every little thing that sparked her interest.

He was only free from Venus when they finally arrived at the police barracks.

A large structure enclosed by concrete walls. Inside a field took on half the space, the remaining space was for the large structures. He could hear the sound of a firearm, but he couldn't discern where it came from.

Sicarius thought that since they were at war all able men would be sent to the frontlines, however this wasn't the case at all.

"Why are there so many people!" Venus complained,

Sicarius could barely see the field with all the young men surrounding their vehicle.

"We greet the commander!" The resonous greetings of the officers hounded Sicarius's ears.

Hanzel had this smug look on his face as he parked the car by a lot designated for vehicles. It wasn't difficult to see that Hanzel had told these officers to do this only for today, as the greetings weren't even done in unison.

He had that expectant look on his face that his son will express awe and yet Sicarius simply stared blanky, as if waiting for him to move on.

"Come along children!" Hanzel announced filled with bravado, it seems that he had more to show Sicarius.

The police barracks wasn't quite what he expected. There was no sign of any strong being above status 1, it was no wonder that his father was the commander.

Inside the main structure of the barracks, the officers were managing files and handling complaints from the citizens. There was a prison cell inside, and there was only one man within, a drunkard who was puking all over the floor.

"Ew!" Venus mumbled,

Sicarius couldn't help but think that all the manpower here was a waste. What threat did they even have to battle here? Is there even really use for this many officers if they were only meant to deal with mundane complaints and drunkards?

They passed through the main structure and arrived at the exit towards the back of the police barracks. A field in which Sicarius could clearly hear where the firearms going off were coming from.

"Wait, before we go out there," Hanzel proceeded to put ear mufflers on both the children, "Now behold, the training field!"

The dramatization of Hanzel was quite on point. It was a sight to behold the training field. Multiple men, scattered on the field performing various forms of maneuvers. Sicarius could see men in hand to hand combat spars, he could see men performing exercises, but most of all what attracted his attention were men firing firearms made of metal and light.

With how all these men trained and appeared, Sicarius could finally understand why he couldn't sense any strong beings. Most of the men here were status 0, only a select few were status one, however they were all the same weaklings to Sicarius.

"Pretty awesome, right?" Hanzel crossed his arms and stood proud,

Venus's mouth was agape, but she was impressed by anything. Sicarius however still stared blankly, yet this time Hanzel could notice that his eyes were focused on the men training with firearms.

"You want to see the guns, little fella?" Hanzel asked,

Sicarius nodded, to which Hanzel pumped his fist in victory. Finally! This kid is interested in something about my work!

He had a smile the whole time as they strolled over to the center of the field where the firearm training was taking place.

The cacophony of firearms was muffled as they approached. The firearms were made of metal and light was shooting bullets of light that pierced through the air leaving traces of its flight.

The targets they had were in the figure of a human, and yet stained with black. The imitation of a human corrupted by the Sins.

"These are our guns. Pretty cool right?" That was all Hanzel was willing to say to both 6 year old children. Luckily, Sicarius had studied, although, he studied the outdated gun models from a century ago there was barely any difference.

The only prominent new features of these guns were the glow embedded into them. The divine power of the priest. The priests were truly the saviors of this world. Without them, the humans had to face the threat of the Sins and Sicarius.

Sicarius was in deep thought, standing still staring at the firearms, while Venus was imitating the shooting form of the officers.

Hanzel could only think that his son was bored, and so he called on for a weapon of a higher caliber.

"Price! Take an RPPG from the armory!"

The officers roared out cheers. It seemed that the weapon demonstrations of a RPPG was quite a sight to behold. Sicarius didn't care for that.

The moment he heard armory his ears perked up in interest.

"I would like to go to the bathroom, father." Sicarius requested,

"Sure, son!" Hanzel replied, "Soap, take him to the restroom."

"I would like to go on my own father."

Hanzel chuckled, "If that's what you want son! Just come back fast or you'll miss the RPPG!"

Sicarius nodded, and promptly paced away back inside, following the man named Price from a safe distance.

They went back through the main building, into the place where the complaining citizens and the prison cells were. The puking drunkard wasn't in his cell anymore, instead, there were officers with horrid expressions trying to clean up the mess.

Sicarius followed as Price headed through a metal door, down the stairs and into an isolated facility. Despite the facility being underground, it was lit just as bright as it was above, the only shadows that could be seen were the shadows cast by their bodies.

Two guards wearing combat vest and held rifles were stationed by the armory doors. Sicarius could perceive pressure of a status 1 emanate from their bodies.

Sicarius peeked from a far corner, watching as Price nodded at the two guards and put his face along a scanner. Cameras were stationed all over the hallway, from the other side Sicarius saw the doors open.

He couldn't come close at all.

It was a blessing however as before Price entered the armory, his shadow seemed to rise. Before the three officers could react, the shadow formed bladed arms and cut through their bodies in seconds.

Blood spurted all over the floor, and the shadow took a familiar physical form. The drunkard from the cell. Given that he killed two status 1's easily Sicarius knew that this being was an equivalent of a status 2 or higher. He was no match at the moment. He had to retreat, however he felt a presence behind him.

Quickly he turned ready to kill the person who was approaching fast. He held the figure by the neck.

"Carius! That hurts!"

It was Venus.

Sicarius hushed her and turned to peek at the corner and met the gaze of stone cold killer, but only for a short moment as the lights quickly shut off after a second.

"Intrusion detected, initiating lockdown."
