Fight, Flight, or Freeze: The Healer's Story

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a body that wasn't yours? A much, much younger body? I can't say that I had ever given it much thought. That was until one night when a patient entered the ER where I was working at and shot me point blank in the head. You know, if he wanted a second opinion, all he had to do was ask. But that's besides the point... Some how, some way, I work up in a strange hospital with a woman that looked suspiciously like my mother holding my hand and crying. Over joyed to see her, it took me a few minutes to realize that I was no longer the 25 year old, successful doctor at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. Nope, I was a 6 year old girl that for a moment... wanted her mother. When the apocalypse comes, it is everyone for themselves. I have three choices: do I fight for what I want? Will I run away and hide, or will I freeze when the demons of my past come back to haunt me? You might know me as the Healer, but this is my story to tell. ------ Fight, Flight, or Freeze is the second novel in the Rebirth in the Apocalypse series, this time featuring the Healer: Wang Tian Mu and her men. You won't have to read the first one to be able to understand this one, and she is not going to stay a child for the whole thing. Li Dai Lu and her guys will be popping in occasionally, but this is strictly Wang Tian Mu's story! I hope you enjoy! So Simple Minded

I looked down at the boy, pleading for the lives of his comrades. Letting out a long sigh, I reached down, took his hand, and healed him. I never knew if I pitied those who were so selfless or envied them for being that way.

I opened my mouth a few times, trying to find the words that I wanted to say, but eventually, I decided not to say anything at all.

"You're a healer?" gasped one of the guards as he watched in horror as the bruises on his coworker vanished in front of his eyes.

"No," replied Bin An Sha, the cold smile on his face. "I'm a healer. She's the Healer… otherwise known as the Angel of City A."

Brushing past everyone, Bai Long Qiang scooped me up into his arms and let out a contented sigh. "Finally," he murmured as he grazed his nose along my temple. "I missed this."

Wrapping my arms around him, I agreed.
