Fight, Flight, or Freeze: The Healer's Story

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a body that wasn't yours? A much, much younger body? I can't say that I had ever given it much thought. That was until one night when a patient entered the ER where I was working at and shot me point blank in the head. You know, if he wanted a second opinion, all he had to do was ask. But that's besides the point... Some how, some way, I work up in a strange hospital with a woman that looked suspiciously like my mother holding my hand and crying. Over joyed to see her, it took me a few minutes to realize that I was no longer the 25 year old, successful doctor at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. Nope, I was a 6 year old girl that for a moment... wanted her mother. When the apocalypse comes, it is everyone for themselves. I have three choices: do I fight for what I want? Will I run away and hide, or will I freeze when the demons of my past come back to haunt me? You might know me as the Healer, but this is my story to tell. ------ Fight, Flight, or Freeze is the second novel in the Rebirth in the Apocalypse series, this time featuring the Healer: Wang Tian Mu and her men. You won't have to read the first one to be able to understand this one, and she is not going to stay a child for the whole thing. Li Dai Lu and her guys will be popping in occasionally, but this is strictly Wang Tian Mu's story! I hope you enjoy! Hold On Until Dawn

I was about to go check on Wu Bai Hee before bed like I always did, but Bin An Sha quickly put a stop to it.

"Leave her. If she wants to start shit, that is fine, but we will no longer be treating her," he said as he steered me back toward the couch. "She has burnt this bridge and needs to learn that there are consequences for her actions. Seriously, a child knows that. It is time for her to understand it, too."

I wrinkled my nose, the only sigh of protest that I made. I really wasn't interested in going there to get yelled at again, so this worked for me.

"Fine," I grumbled. "Are we sleeping in the bedroom again?" I asked, quickly changing the subject.

We had been playing musical beds every night since the zombie attacks started. Cheng Bo Jing had encased most of the windows in metal, but I refused to let him do all of them. After all, I wasn't going to lock Hei outside if he wanted to come in.
