Alex Lunaria
My gaze fell on Sophia, the woman responsible for what I am today. I folded my arms, trying to contain my annoyance.
The urge to strangle her was overwhelming, but I couldn't act on it.
My eyes, filled with hatred, locked onto her as she embraced the young lady.
"Who would believe she gave birth to such a precious daughter?" I muttered, unable to look away.
Suddenly, the drum rolls signaled the arrival of the full moon. Everyone howled, eyes twitching. I felt nothing; my wolf remained dormant.
The howling grew louder, trying to connect with my body. It felt forced, my nails partially extending before retreating. Tears welled up in my eyes.
I couldn't help but cry. Suddenly, all eyes turned towards the door.
A gray wolf with forest green eyes walked in, his presence radiating dominance. He snarled at the wolves, his power barely contained, then calmed.
As he walked towards the throne, a spike of energy shot through me.
The mark on my left shoulder began to glow. I turned my face away, whispering, "Who could my mate be?"
The gray wolf reached the throne and howled, prompting everyone to respond. My eyes widened in shock.
"Michael..." I whispered, heat spreading through my body.
My mate was near, but who? My gaze fell upon Catherine, her glowing eyes fixed on me. My heart skipped a beat as memories of the past flooded in.
"No, this can't be," I whispered. I couldn't let history repeat itself. There must be a mistake. I was glad to find my mate, but who could it be?
The strong connection confused me. No wolf communicated with me, and I couldn't identify my mate, I despise been an omega.
Michael Alpharia howled in his wolf form before shifting back to human. Guards hurried to cover him with a robe as everyone turned away.
The urge to look at him blurred my vision with tears. I turned back to see him, grown and captivating as ever.
"All hail Michael Alpharia, Alpha of the Ashwood Pack," the guard shouted.
"All hail the Alpha," everyone echoed. It felt awkward to say, as that was my throne. My eyes fixed on him, tears streaming down my face.
"Hello," a voice snapped me out of my trance.
"It's me again, Catherine," she said with a broad smile. I rolled my eyes. Did she think I looked like a man?
"Claim me, won't you?" she giggled, my face filled with confusion.
"Claim me," she repeated. A fake smile spread across my lips.
"Yes, I could feel my mate within, but who was he?" I whispered to myself.
I couldn't claim someone I didn't feel connected to. As she stood in front of me, a memory of the past resurfaced. I nodded.
"This would never happen, I whispered.
"I'm sorry, I can't. You are the gamma of the pack, and I'm just an omega. I don't think that can work," I replied, deepening my voice.
My gaze fell on Nanazeen and the girls, preparing to dance.
The beat started, and I forgot about Catherine standing in front of me.
"Really?" she gritted her teeth. She was as evil as her mother when she did that.
"Do you know you dare not reject an Alpha's child, huh?" she spat. Was she trying to threaten me?
I cursed myself for wearing the guard's clothes.
"I'm sorry..." I muttered, walking away from her. Her presence only annoyed me more. There must have been a mistake somewhere.
I left the palace, taking a deep breath as the cool weather hit me. I sighed, watching the full moon shinning.
Alex!!! I shouted my name, kicking the floor in frustration. I snapped my teeth together; something needed to be done.
I needed to sketch out my plans. Turning back, I saw Sophia's smile, which only fueled my fury.
There were three things I wanted: to reclaim my pack, to heal the wounded love between Michael and me, and to exact my revenge. These were the things I needed to do, I thought, anger boiling within me.
I had to escape Nanazeen's captivity. Things needed to change.
As I whispered to myself, I saw a maiden walking by. An evil thought struck my mind, and I couldn't control my urge to leave captivity.
I walked towards the maiden, her head bowed. Clearing my throat, I asked, "What are you doing here all alone?" My voice was deeper than usual.
She gently lifted her face to look at me. All I saw was a young maiden, filled with fear. "Is something wrong with you?" I asked, feeling a pang of concern at her pale appearance.
"It's him again. He... he forced himself on me," she whispered, collapsing onto my shoulder. I stiffened in confusion.
"Who did?" I whispered, brushing her hair gently. "Don't worry, when I take what is rightfully mine, things will be in place" I said, trying to comfort her.
"But for now, I will need your help, young lady. Forgive me," I sighed, glancing around to ensure no one could see what was about to happen.
I dragged her towards a secluded corner, my heart racing. As I began to remove her clothing, my eyes widened in shock.
"What could have happened to you?" I whispered, seeing the blood. A beast must be in the palace.
I slapped the young lady's face hard. "Wake up!" I yelled, slapping her cheek again. My heart raced with fear. She looked so pale; something needed to be done.
"An antidote," I whispered. I was about to stand up when a hand gripped me. I turned to see the young lady in front of me.
"What happened to you?" I asked, confused.
She began to sob. "It's him again," she said, tears streaming down her face.
"Just tell me, who is it?" I asked, my voice softening. She stiffened, her tears flowing freely. "It's Zach, the alpha's son," she burst out, crying harder.
"Zach, the alpha's son," I whispered, trying to process what was happening. "He did this to you, huh?" I asked, and she nodded her head.
