Chapter 1 Scream

- ahhh, my head is in pain. What was I doing last night?

Shards of memories began to reappear:

Shard 1: silver knife was glimpsing the moon and the smell of blood hit the nose

Shard 2: abnormal smile of the girl with hollow sight

Shard 3: heavy breathlessness, silence

Shard 4: Scream

Despite having great headache, Edwin automatically check the time on the phone which showed 11:00 PM

- How is it even possible, I thought that I have at least slept for 8 hours? Ahh, I see know

He actually slept for 18 hours, 35 missed calls and more than unread 100 messages suddenly appeared on the screen when he turned off the air plane mode.

Working as a police man, he always ensures that he is sleeping well, planning his day ahead and does regular exercises. In his 3 years of service, it was first time when he was oblivious, detached and trembling.

Initially he thought that it would be better to call back his boss and other colleagues, but then he decided to take for himself one hour to have clear mind. After preparing himself he decided to call his boss first:

- Where have you been?! (Boss is shouting)

- I am not sure as I believe that I have received damage to the head and my memory is vague.

- Are you kidding me? Or do you take drugs? I do believe that we need to check you. Run to to the office right now!

- Sure!

Boss hanged the phone and Edwin started to wear his police suit in rush and suddenly he realised that his boss is not type of person who will operate at night as his routine is to work until 7:30PM.

- Maybe today a serious case that he is working on.

Living just a few miles away, he was running toward the office. In his vague mind he was thinking only about reaching the destination, not considering any transport options.

Upon arriving to the local police station at the midnight, Edwin was staggered that only main hall and the director's room lights were on, while from the others there was a clear reflection of the moonlight. After having a breath break, he came in.

The door was open as usual, however there were no one who is on duty.

-Probably he is somewhere in toilet, when our government will allocate more budget?

In such disappointment he continues to climb up the ladders, but suddenly, when he was moving to the second floor accelerating himself by pulling the handrail, the shadow of the rope form appeared on the left side of the ladder. Suddenly Edwin turned back and saw through the window between the floors that nothing is there except for the advertisement in the far building: "Try the flee - escape for free" from the local quest makers.
