Adel’s POV.
“Miguel—” Nix growled, the timbre of it shaking the windows of the gathering room. Miguel looked at his Alpha; his eyes were dark and guarded before they slid back to the man whose back was to me.
The first thing we saw when we burst into the room was the lifeless form of my aunt. My hands trembled at my side as my knees quaked at the sight of my cousin standing in such close proximity to my mate. Nora stood by the door as I took one step, followed quickly by another small step closer toward Freddy.
I saw his body tense as he sensed a threat in the invaded strangers, accompanied by Miguel.
‘Don’t wait for an invitation pup,’ Anara’s voice rang through my mind.
I hadn’t heard the voice of my wolf since waking up from being sick. I felt like crying at her familiar voice ringing clear in my mind.
‘Anara! I missed you!’
‘We can reunite later, but he’s planning something pup…’
