Episode I

I wake up from my king sized bed and start the usual process like I do every day and every morning.

I apply my facial creame' and turn on the stereo to listen to some music before I get ready for work.

" Morning Elle" I say to my goldfish before dropping her feed into her water which she swallows instantly.

"No hunny, we've talked about this. One in the morning and one at night"

She flaps her fin and I take it as my cue that she understands so I leave to have my bath.

I step out of the shower later and apply my lotion before settling for what to wear.

I am putting on a mustard gown and Black stilettos whilst finishing the look with a pair of earrings and necklace.

I style my hair and say goodbye to Elle before stepping out of the house.

I open the door and the cold air brushes past me as I make my way to my car.

I get in and drive out instantly.

"Alexa call Gabriel" I say and the electronic device beeps before placing a call across to Gabriel.

"Hey babe" I say with a smile immediately he picks up.

"Hey what's up?" He replies almost out of breath

"I'm on my way to work. You sound exhausted, are you okay?" I worriedly ask

"Yeah I'm good" A pause and then 'i just finished with the treadmill so I'm taking a break"

"Okay so when are you going for the interview?" I ask but he sighs.

"Later in the day. My friend is hooking me up with this big businessman and apparently he liked my resume so I'll be meeting him today"

"So happy for you babe"

"Yeah" he replies and then "Kathie can you lend me some money"

"Money for what Gabriel. I sent you some yesterday"

"I know. I know. I just have some urgent things to take care of. I promise I'll pay back as soon as I get the job"

I thought for a while

"Alright I'll send some money later"

"You're the best babe. I love you so much" he chants and I feel my heart flutter.

Gabriel always knows the right words to say and I don't know if it's my heart talking but I love this man so much that I'll do anything for him, no questions asked.

"Awwn thanks babe" I say with a smile "I'll call you back later okay" I say and he hangs up.

I arrive at work a bit late cause of traffic but I guess it's all good when you're the CEO/ owner.

"Morning miss Katherine" my secretary greets and I reply with a bright smile.

"Happy Birthday Mira" I tell her and she grins.

"You didn't forget"

"Oh come on. Let's grab a bite later to celebrate okay"

"Sure" she replies before I open the door to my very own office.

I place my bag on the table and sit down on my chair before turning on the PC.

I have a lot of work to do and me being lazy isn't helping matters at all. I still need to finalize about opening another fashion brand in a different country.

That being said, my cellphone rings, startling me from my short reverie.

"Daddy" I say immediately I pick up.

"Katherine how are you"

"I'm alright father of mine"

"Your mother called. She said you're not picking up her calls, mind if I ask why?" He asks on the other end and I just sink into my chair after releasing a huge breath.

"I'll try to call her"

"Please do. She's worried about you"

"I didn't think she cared that much" I say in a deceptively mocking tone.

"She does. Believe me"

"Whatever you say"

And then.

"How's your child" he asks and I roll my eyes at the sarcasm.

"Gabriel is fine dad" I reply suddenly feeling uninterested.

Dad has never approved my relationship with Gabriel. He thinks I'm way too good for him and that he's only using me for my money but I didn't care less. I stood my ground that I wanted to be with him and dad uses every opportunity he has to rub it in my face.

"Of course he is. He has you in his life. I'm pretty sure he's on your budget so why won't he be fine?"

"Daddy"

"I won't say anything more. Have a nice day at work" he replies and hangs up.

I stare at the phone a little longer as my mind wanders off to what my dad just said.

Gabby and I have been together for a year now. He recently proposed to me not too long ago which I accepted. I admit that I cater for most of his needs and that he relies on me for everything but it's only because he doesn't have a job yet and I want to help him out.

I really hope that they get along very soon cause I wouldn't want the two men in my life to not be on good terms.

I quickly unlock my phone and transfer some money to Gabriel then I set out to respond some emails on my PC.

During lunch with Mira, I call again and again but he doesn't pick up then I decide to leave him a text.

I knock off later without any response to the calls and texts I sent to Gabriel regarding the money so I decided to call again and it leads me straight to voicemail. Now I am very worried but I just brush it off.

I am about to enter my car when I receive a text from Gina, telling about a Mini brail at her place tonight. I text her back that I'll be there.

I needed to check on Gabriel and ask about the job interview so I do just that.

The drive to his place takes me less than thirty minutes since the road is actually free from traffic.

I instantly step out of the car and head inside but Gabby isn't in the living room so I went upstairs to his room and open the door only to receive the greatest shock of my life. My supposed fiance was in bed with no other person than Frida, one of my closest friends.

I open the door and my heart sinks at the sight before me. Gabriel is lying down naked with an equally naked Frida in his arms.

I feel a tug at my chest. My heart tightens. somehow I am finding this room suffocating. For a moment there all I do is stare. The pain I am feeling right now is immeasurable. My heart is literally bleeding.

How on earth did we get to this point. When did we get here?

I banged the door loudly which I knew would stir them awake and started for my car. Gabby came out at this point to stop me. He was only on his briefs so I guess my mind isn't playing any tricks on me then.

"... Kathie" he begins but snaps his mouth shut. I was surprisingly calm in all this and I don't know why? I mean Gabby and I are engaged to be married soon and now this?

I opened the door to get into my car but he stops me

"Katherine wait"

"What for Gabriel? How could you? And with Frida of all people?" I ask, my emotions choking me.

"I swear I didn't want you to find out like this. I love you very much but I also have very strong feelings for Frida"

The devil chooses that exact minute to step out of the house. She couldn't even look me in the eye. You know that saying about the devil wearing six inches heels and makeup? Guess what, it's true and I just found out about it. But only problem here is that the devil is no other person than Frida.

"You have never loved me have you Gabriel? It's always been about the money isn't it? When you told me you had urgent issues to take care of, she was the project right?"

"Don't do this to yourself"

"Excuse me? I feed you Gabriel. I take care of all your bills, I bought you this car, even the shirts you put on were from my paycheck. I rented this apartment for you scumbag and you stand there to defend your promiscuous lifestyle?"

"I really love you Kathie but unlike you, Frida has fully given herself to me"

"So it's about the sex huh? You know what? You can die for all I care but just stay away from me. Both of you."

"Kathie please listen to me" he begs but I pull off the engagement ring and throws it at his face.

"Kathie i..."

I didn't let him finish talking as I got into my car and drove away Instantly Cause I might do something that I'd regret.
