Fate/Demi-Servant

What happens when there's another person besides Mash who becomes a Demi-Servant? And that contractor is from Gilgamesh of all Heroic Spirits? You get this! There will be SMITE references for Gilgamesh/MC, considering I will be using an original NP since Enuma Elish will be later down the story. [Before we begin, this story is an experiment! My knowledge of Fate is limited. However, as I write this story, I'm reading Light Novels and FGO Manga and playing FGO. So don't expect this story to be anything special. After reading a lot of Fate fanfics, I had this idea, but I was ultimately disappointed by the lack of Demi-Servant MCs.] [Like most other Fate Fanfics, Harem is included, but probably no smut unless I feel it's appropriate!] I hope that this will get people to try this rare trope out!

Before The Storm

Gudako remained by Mars's side as he recovered from his grave wounds, but thanks to their new friend, or Servant, Caster, who they found out was none other than Irelands Child Of Light, Cu Chulainn. Right now, the group waited patiently for Mars to awaken, which should be in about an hour, so this gave the Chaldeans a time of reprieve to gather their thoughts and go over game plans, which undoubtedly had Mars in mind.

Caster remained observant. He watched from afar the whole time, trying to figure out who these new people were. His surprise was certainly brimming like a stove top when he felt an eerily familiar presence, which brought up some distasteful memories, considering he wasn't summoned as a Lancer. He wouldn't stand much of a chance from this anomalous being he felt appear suddenly.

When he saw Mars fight off against that corrupted purple-haired Servant, he could tell the guy was new to this whole servant thing, but what impressed him was using the opponent's emotions and style to his advantage. Of course, it was risky, but all plans had risks, some worse than others, but the benefits would certainly bear fruit in the end.

The next thing Caster was amazed by was the training session he witnessed. It was nothing short of impressive to witness firsthand. Granted, he wished he had a part in it, but he remained a bystander, taking in the vivid display of growth between the two new Servants. This must've been how his teacher felt whenever she would watch him accomplish something and pass a threshold in training.

When Caster saw Mars challenge his rival, Archer, Caster felt the need to intervene. He knew Mars was strong, given whose power he was using, but against a more experienced Archer, he had no way of defeating such a foe, but…his words were put back into his vocal cords. It was a quick battle. Despite both opponents being Archer Servants, the battle lasted only five minutes. In that brief time, Caster realized that Mars was the real deal. He couldn't possibly hate a guy for such a showing.

"Caster?"

"Hm?"

"You seem lost in thought. What's wrong?"

Caster blinked at the lavender-haired Servant, it was a few seconds worth of staring, which caused Mash to feel like she's done something wrong, but fortunately, Caster seemed to notice his unnerving stare and shook his head.

"I'm just glossing over what I've seen from your group. I'm impressed by far, little lady, you may not have shown off your skills, but you're pretty strong, too, if Goldilocks trusts you," Caster answered, beaming with a sense of mirth.

"Goldilocks?"

"Yeah…he anyone who seen those golden lights before would never forget whose the trigger," Caster said vaguely, getting Gudako, Mash, and Olga's immediate attention.

"I wasn't aware Servants remember much…"

Caster's smile went sheepish, bringing up a hand to scratch his glistening blue hair. "We don't…but when something of significant impact happens, we tend to remember those even after returning to the Throne Of Heroes."

Olga Marie, for one, put on her thinking cap with a hand on her chin as she sat in a chair. She wasn't aware of this. She never heard of this happening. Of course, why would she? She wasn't Master material or anything like that, but still, she should know something as intriguing and mysterious as this.

"So, you know whose servant he contracted with?" Gudako asked, her voice a bit strained, the singularities environment was beginning to affect her, but she needed to remain strong, so she tried her best to learn anything from her temporary Servant.

"I do…" Caster sighed as his red eyes glanced at the sleeping form of Mars. "The King Of Heroes. There's no mistake about it. The guy practically exudes that overweening aura causing me to be nauseous."

"King Of Heroes? Uh…"

"EH! THAT KING OF HEROES?" A voice frantically erupted.

"Roman! Why are you shouting? You're going to shatter our eardrums!"

"Oh…sorry. Sorry, but I've never thought Gilgamesh of Servants would even think about lending his power to anyone else but himself. His story is widely known…as is its overbearing arrogance and ego,"

After settling down, Doctor Roman began to inform the uninformed Gudako about Gilgamesh's legend and origins. To say she was flabbergasted would be correct, but many times over. From the short time she knew of Mars, he seemed the opposite of the infamous King Of Uruk. Mars was lazy and undriven but still went out of his way to be as helpful as possible, getting a few Chaldean staff to appreciate his slothful presence.

Gudako also learned Roman and Mars were practically great friends who found kinship in one another. Gudako wished she knew more about Mars, but she didn't overstep her boundaries. When Mars was ready to talk about his past, she'll be listening.

"It's surprising that Gilgamesh was the secret third Servant Chaldea summoned…I feel he has the power to refuse being summoned," Mash spoke, unsure what to think about the knowledge she had just acquired.

Roman became silent after that but sighed, which lingered in the silence between the group as they processed everything. "You only have Saber and Berserker left to deal with, correct?"

"That's right. Berserker is off doing whatever, so he won't be a bother in our goal. Saber…now that's the troublesome part," Caster's voice became bitter at the end, and a mote of hopelessness crept in, surprising for the famous legend.

"Do you know the identity of Saber? Surely you crossed paths with them at least once?"

Caster nodded slowly. His eyes glimmered as he remembered how brutal Saber was. They were a terrifying force…a storm that couldn't be stopped and would continue to surge until everything touched was destroyed.

"Artoria Pendragon….King Arthur herself. With the Holy Sword Excalibur…she's one of the strongest Heroic Spirits you'll ever face."

AN: A chapter that focuses mainly on everyone else, Singularity F, is ending very soon, so I hope you all enjoy what I got coming for the fight. I may make a few filler chapters between singularities to give our characters time to interact with one another and grow a bond instead of hopping right into the next singularity.

I also finished the game version of the Orleans Singularity, and I didn't expect to feel so many emotions at the ending with Jeanne Alter, etc. It was so well done. It's easily a 9/10 for me.

With that said, the next chapter will be uploaded later tonight!

I hope you all enjoyed it!
