Eleanor 'Ellie' Bishop x Girlfriend!Chef!Reader

Ellie breathed in the smell of spices that enveloped her home. She hummed and dumped her gear haphazardly on the couch, her coat slipped to the floor, but she ignored it in favour for the woody tang of juniper berries. Rounding the corner into her kitchen, she saw you crushing what was almost definitely juniper berries. "Hey." Ellie sighed as she breathed in the new smells that danced around her, enticing her. You grinned up at your girlfriend, "Hey." Ellie closed her eyes and breathed in deeply, with a heavy sigh she asked, "What are you making?"

"Lion of venison with a sloe gin and blackberry glaze, roasted cauliflower with turmeric and cumin, grilled carrots with lemon and dill, mashed potatoes with chives. With a Julia Child's chocolate and almond cake for dessert." Ellie's face lit up like it always did when ever you cooked. Being a professional chef meant you were often indulging Ellie's love of food. You often tested new recipes on her as she was always honest and knew about food. Ellie was practically vibrating with happiness when you finished your list of foods. She grinned even wider, "Anything I can to help?"

"Can you check on the cauliflower? I have to put this in for half an hour and finish the carrots, then I have to mash the potatoes and cut the chives." Ellie checked the cauliflower and pushed the door shut when you placed the venison lion in the oven. She began to mash the potatoes while you chopped the chives, Ellie plucked the butter out of the fridge and you added it to the potatoes, you fluffed up the potatoes and added the chives. Ellie began to clean up the kitchen and squealed when she saw the chocolate coffee mix in the fridge waiting to be poured over the cake whose batter was waiting in its mixing bowl. Ellie pulled the cauliflower and the carrots, you pulled out the venison. You let it rest for a few minutes while you plated the cauliflower and carrots. You began to cut the venison while Ellie began to set the table. You plated the meat and carried the plates over to the table. You then moved back to the kitchen to place the batter in its tin and placing it in the oven to cook while you ate. You set the timer while moving back to the dining room and saw that Ellie had poured the wine as well as lighting some candles. "What do you think about making this a romantic dinner?" She asked with a soft smile. You smiled back, placing the timer on the dresser, you walked over to her. Taking the wine, you clinked glasses, and took a sip before starting your meal. When the timer beeped you had both finished your meal, you pulled the cake out of the oven allowing it to cool before adding the chocolate coffee butter. Ellie cleaned up, she moved closer to you. You turned and smiled at her. She moved closer to you, she leaned in and pressed her lips against yours. You could taste the tang of juniper, the sting of cumin, and the Pinot Noir, the flavours that remained on her lips. You smiled into the kiss, the sweet taste of the wine lingering on your tongue. Ellie pulled away, "Dinner was amazing, but it tastes even better on your lips." You smiled at her, "Wait till you taste this cake, then." Ellie beamed at you.
