Max touched her hand when Jade was about to stand up and leave the restaurant. She immediately stopped and finally sat back down.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to heat things up," Max said.

Seeing him pitiful, made Jade's heart feel uneasy. She who had wronged Max so much, still couldn't stop herself from being with Shane.

Her relationship was already very toxic, but she still did it and neither did Max who didn't want to lose Jade.

"I need time without you," Jade said later.

Max looked at her in surprise. "What? Jade... haven't you been without me a lot? Why do you still need time without me?" Max asked who didn't accept the suddenness of Jade's words.

"Because you talk about this so many times. Do you know how much I want to let Shane go too? But I still can't! And you're always so busy with your jealousy that you should even realize that I never really left you for him!"
