Chapter 46

Cody's P.O.V

After hours of staying in the hotel, we were finally on the road again. We were just there sitting and singing out Ed Shereen' s songs. George of course was driving the Lemo and the rest of us were pretty much at the back drinking champagne, eating fruits, singing and laughing. Emily who was next to me had one of her hands stretched across my shoulder rocking me from side to side and laughing. She was definitely enjoying this birthday of hers. I can' t wait until she sees her birthday gift although Cindy and the others told me that she hates gifts and surprises. Who doesn't love gifts and surprises?. Cindy also told me that the reason why she didn't like gifts and surprises is because of her father' s death. Apparently he had died on her birthday. But she looks so happy today as if her dad's death isn't affecting her. It' s better this way. Plus, what' s the sense in remembering something on a special day when it only brings you misery and pain. " What' s going on in that beautiful head of yours?", Em asked kissing me on the cheek. I turned to her smiling. " You", I said captured by her smile. " What?", she asked laughing and bouncing me by the side. I wish I could just grab her now and kiss her. " Cody!", she shouted still laughing and bouncing me. "Are you enjoying your birthday?", I asked finally shaking the thought of kissing her out of my head. " Heck yah!!!, I have all my friends here with me. What else could I ask for Cody. I' m just looking forward to going home, relaxing, drinking some champagne and chill; cause its my birthdayyyyy!", she shouted raising the glass in her hand. We cheered laughing. Cheers to 19. So Em is looking forward to going home and relaxing. It' s a pity she doesn't know the surprise that awaits her. A phone call came in on Em' s phone. She's been receiving calls since morning. I wonder who that is now. Maybe its one of her family members or friends.   I noticed that Em didn't answer the phone call even when she knew it was ringing. I saw when she hanged up the phone with no hesitation. But before that ,I got a glance of who was calling her. Her DAD. If its one thing I know about this girl; it's that she doesn't save her adopted dad as dad in her phone. Maybe she changed it or something. Or maybe she has another father figure in her life. Maybe." Who was calling?", Leon asked curiously looking at Em. " No one", Em replied looking at Leon. Did she just say no one. Her dad especially. I don' t think that person who was calling is her dad. Anyways its none of my business. " ok", Leon said with a face expression that said he knew Em was lying. We finally came to a stop. " Guys its after 4, what are we doing home so early?", Em asked kind of laughing. We all got out of the lemo not answering her.

Emily' s P.O.V

Ok then. What is up with them. I made my way out of the lemo meeting up into Cody' s chest. I ignored the thought of looking up at him. I glanced a smile across his face. " Ah I think I' m just gonna go get some ice- cream or something. Cody do you wanna come?", I asked finally looking up at him. Any chance that I get to stay away from Matthew I would gladly take it. " Nooo", they shouted. What?. " Guysss, I would do anything to get away from this house. Do you seriously want to go inside and watch a movie right now?. I am not up for that. So boring. So I suggest we go out for some ice- cream. Ok?", I asked. They looked at me laughing. " There's enough ice- cream on the inside, believe me", Leon said walking over to me and laughing. " Yeah Em and we don' t have to watch a movie. We can play some games.",

Amy said walking over to me as well. Somethings definitely up. " Fine, you guys are so boring.", I said walking off before them towards the house. Absolutely boring. I need some jelly shots or something. I checked my phone first before turning the door knob. Why is Cabello texting me?. " Happy birthdayyyyy!!", I heard some persons shouted. Before looking up I closed my eyes and covered my face. No no no. I knew something was up. I so hate surprises. But no I' m gonna have to act like I like it. I can' t believe mom or whoever planned this actually did this. I looked up at everyone with a smile that said I really appreciate this. I turned looking at Cody and the others who were behind me. I shook my head at them. "  You guys knew about this didn't you!", I shouted laughing. " Yeah surprise!", Leon said shouting and hugging me. He- s squeezing the life out of me. " Happy birthday my darling daughter!", I heard mom shouted. I broke the hug between Matthew and I and now I was facing mom. " Thank you so much mom", I said smiling and pulling her into a hug. " I can' t believe you did this for me mom. Thank you so much", I said breaking the hug . " You are most welcome my darling", mom added. I looked around the house and noticed some familiar faces. People from my school that I have never spoken to in my life except that one guy that I met when I just started out. He' s so cool. Like mom invited everyone that knew me. I threw myself in the crowd to try and greet everyone. So many people. Roughly 100 persons. If I knew mom loved having so many people at her house , I would definately throw a party every week. " Happy birthday Em!!", I heard a few persons shouted from across the room. " Thanks guys!", I shouted back. The DJ was playing some Cardi B, Dj Khalid, Beyonce and some other songs as well. I greeted some people from my old school in Canada. I was so happy to see them. I can' t wait to move back. 

As I moved along in the crowd I stopped and danced to some of the songs that were playing. " It' s my birthdayyy, so I do what I want, God damn its my birthday, everybody loves me!", I shouted. " Emily?", a  familiar voice behind me asked. I turned around not believing my eyes. I couldn't believe it. My mom and siblings were here. Oh my Gosh. " You guys came!", I shouted excited and greeting them. They wished me happy birthday and I thanked them. This day cannot get any better. After a while we started talking and Brianna and I were the only ones left behind. I just love talking to her. " Sooo, is that the C?", Brianna asked trying to shout above the music that was loud. I felt like my ear drums were gonna burst. Brianna pointed towards Cody who was just in a corner speaking to a group of girls who from the looks of things were flirting with him. "Stop pointing Brianna", I laughed putting her hand down. " He may be surrounded by a group of girls but one thing is for sure. He has his eyes on you. I dared not to look.
