"Too weak!"
Rhodes casually rotated his shoulders, barely feeling any impact from the attack. It hadn't caused him even the slightest discomfort.
For such a weak opponent, he didn't even need to activate the power of the Discipline of Kindness. It would be a waste of energy to even bother.
The withering of the Tree of Life had left the entire Forest of Serenity in ruin. The ground was parched, leaves had turned brown, and the once-green grass was now yellow. Every tree, every creature in this forest seemed on the verge of death.
"Human, in the name of the Abyss Devil, I acknowledge your strength," came a deep voice. "With the power we both hold, should we battle here, we will only bring mutual destruction. It's better if we end this now."
The Hell Bull Demon, towering and fearsome, lowered its voice with a hint of fear as it eyed Rhodes. "I forgive your offense. I will leave this world and return to the Abyss."
Rhodes cocked an eyebrow, surprised at the demon's tone. This was an Abyssal creature, a being born of violence and bloodlust. For such a beast to show humility before a human spoke volumes about Rhodes' power. The demon could sense something greater than even the Demon Lords of the Abyss emanating from him—a power akin to that of the gods.
"You think we'd both suffer?" Rhodes chuckled, stretching his muscles. The next moment, the earth trembled.
In an instant, he vanished, reappearing right in front of the Bull Demon before it could even react.
Rhodes towered over the demon, his oppressive presence making the beast shrink under his gaze. Those cold, merciless eyes reflected a disdain for life, a complete disregard for the natural order.
The Hell Bull Demon trembled. As an abyssal being, fear was a foreign emotion. But standing in front of Rhodes, the demon felt the very essence of death looming closer with each passing second.
"Are you worthy? Trash!"
A grin spread across Rhodes' face as the light from his ax glimmered like the sun. With a violent swing, the ax descended.
"Damn it!" the demon roared, trying to block the strike, but the force was too overwhelming. Flames erupted, engulfing the Hell Bull Demon in a fiery explosion.
Rhodes didn't even blink, his expression unchanged. At this moment, beneath the blazing noon sun, not even the gods mattered to him. He wasn't negotiating with anyone. Not with a devil, not with anyone.
Why would he? There was no need to bargain with someone beneath him.
The searing heat radiating from Rhodes distorted the very air around him, the intense flames making the space twist and break apart. His golden eyes gleamed like molten magma, and just by looking into them, it felt like the entire world was ablaze.

One after another, powerful magical effects burst forth, compounding Rhodes' strength to terrifying new heights. His body, flooded with immeasurable power, seemed ready to tear itself apart. But even before his flesh could break, it healed instantly, his immortal body mending any damage within moments.
With a final, devastating swing of his ax, the Bull Demon was smashed into the ground, leaving a massive crater.
"The Sun Without Mercy!"
Rhodes summoned a burning sun in his hand, throwing it straight into the earth where the Bull Demon had fallen. Flames erupted from the ground, turning the earth into molten glass from the unbearable heat.
Rhodes watched the motionless demon, finally allowing himself to relax as his peak form subsided.
"If it hasn't moved by now, it's definitely dead," he murmured.
Looking at the scorched, lifeless forest around him, Rhodes felt a pang of frustration. "It left me with a mess."
He slowly made his way to the sapling of the Tree of Life. Its life essence drained, it seemed withered, close to death, the last of its vitality slipping away.
Once the Tree of Life died, the entire forest would perish with it. After all, the forest only existed because of the tree.
Suddenly, a soft voice came from behind him.
"I'm sorry for the pain I've caused, but it's all ending now," the forest banshee said, appearing quietly. Her gaze was fixed on the dying Tree of Life, her expression calm and resigned.
As the tree's life faded, so too would hers. She had been born with the tree, and she would die with it. Like a mayfly resting on an ancient tree, her fate was intertwined with it.
"Once I die, the curse will fade," she said.
Rhodes frowned.
"That's not what I want to hear."
He had gone through all of this trouble, fought all of these battles—for a curse. And now, she tells him the curse will simply disappear? Was everything he did for nothing?
"Brother Rhodes is pleased that you're being sensible, but Brother Rhodes is unhappy that the curse will just vanish."
The banshee blinked in confusion. Didn't this human enter the forest specifically to break the curse? Why did he seem so dissatisfied with its disappearance?
"Even if you want to stop it, it's already too late," she whispered. "The mother tree will die soon."
Rhodes shook his head. "Nothing's absolute."
He stepped toward the sapling, cutting a wound on his wrist. As his blood dripped down onto the withered roots of the Tree of Life, a spark ignited.
Whoosh!
A bright flame erupted on the tree. At the same time, a surge of life force rushed through it. The tree, which had been on the brink of death, suddenly stood tall, as if revived by some miracle.
The sapling shot upward, breaking through the soil, growing hundreds of meters in mere moments. Its bark turned a brilliant gold, and its branches spread wide, adorned with golden-red leaves.
In no time, the tiny sapling had transformed into a colossal tree, nearly a thousand meters tall, its trunk radiating golden light.
The Tree of Life, now fully grown, had reached its maturity in an instant, exuding an aura of overwhelming vitality. The surrounding forest, once withered, began to flourish, the trees growing taller and stronger, and even the beasts in the forest seemed to grow more powerful.
Drops of pure life essence condensed on the leaves of the Tree of Life, slowly dripping into a lake that formed at its base. The lake shimmered with chaotic, elemental energy—life, nature, sun, brilliance, heat—all combining into one.
And in the center of that lake, a massive embryo began to take shape.
The tree's roots lifted the embryo, cradling it in the air.
Rhodes stared at the translucent form, feeling an inexplicable connection to it.
"Am I going to be a father?" he muttered, the thought crossing his mind for the first time.
