Chapter 16: The new horsemen

Mc's pov

It's been six days since my battle with the troll and I was left with only I four anomalies I needed to take care of here in Pergande but they were all B class level and I could barely take on a high C and left twilight mountains. I decided to train up for the rest because I don't know who the difference in strength between anomalies in different categories can be B-class anomalies could be hundreds of times stronger than C-class ones. Morrigan has been helping train my magic and sparring with me though her punching bag will be more of an accurate description. We did run into some trouble along the way but it was mostly just weak bandits.

Currently on back on the road and I was asleep in the car as we were heading our way to a village called Bellhall.

"Wake up junior we're here Bellhall village~." I heard Morrigan's voice in my ear causing me to jump a bit making her laugh.

"That's not funny man." I grumbled nursing my head.

"Sorry sorry I couldn't help myself." She giggled as she stopped by a hill side close to the village. It was a somewhat of a big village but what really got my attention was the giant bell tower in what seemed the village center.

"Well, I can see why it's called Bellhall village." I got out of the car and Morrigan stored back her ride and we walked into the village.

"Yeah, on the 3rd of September there's this little holiday called the dragon prayer day where the people of Pergande thank the dragons for sparing the kingdom through prayer. Normally it's supposed to be a payer before having a big meal in your home but this village takes it a step further by having a large prayer service and village feast." Morrigan explained.

'Huh so it's like the thanks giving holiday from the US.' I thought as we entered the village. "So, what are we doing here?"

"Well kid I need access to a T.V. The new horsemen are about to be elected and its being broadcasted all over T.V. But it won't be for another 3 hours so yeah we got some time to kill."

"Oh yeah I heard the previous ones died through by a strong dark wizard two months ago."

"Yep, today the ceremony will be held at Hercules city in the Royal district. After that we're going to take a train to Dreoon I got business there." Dreoon huh maybe I can visit griffin wing. "Am going to stalk up on some supplies you can explore a bit but meet in that pub in 3 hours here get yourself something to eat in the meantime." She said and I just mocked saluted and went in a random direction.

I walked around the village and I it seemed pretty normal for the most part but I finally found a small tavern of sorts. I entered and the place wasn't that paced so I sat by an empty table and a waiter asked me for my order. After I gave him my order I sat by the table and took out my phone and began playing some subway surfers as I waited.

"I can't believe other horsemen were chosen in only two months."

"Yeah, in three hours every building which has a T.V in this village will be packed."

"Hm am just wondering who the horse man of the Military and legal division will be to finally get this crime under control."

"Forget that am more concerned the horseman of Agricultural the food delivery has been absolute shit for the past two months."

The two men conserves with each other about the four horsemen as I passively heard their conversation but it wasn't just them pretty much everyone in the tavern was talking about it. The waitress finally brought my food and I put my phone away.

"Here you go sweety." She said with a smile. "Oh, and just to give you a heads up don't use stuff like that in these places in these times. Like other places we've been having a little bit of a bandit problem." She than left.

'Oh, shit she must have been talking about my phone.' I thought as I looked around and saw some sketchy dudes glancing at me a little. 'Crap with portable communication lacrima and me basically buying all this food I've pretty much placed the rice dude tag on myself.' I thought as I began eating my food. As I was eating six men circled two were tall four were average built.

"Hey kid that's some huge pile of food you got with you." One of the tall ones said smirking and I guess he was the leader. "Mind if I have some?" He said stretching his hands to my fries and I smacked it away. And so, him and his crew laughed and everyone else looked like they wanted to help but were too scared.

"Oh, looks like we got a tough one here boss!" One of them mockingly said.

"Listen kid I'll let that slide as I noticed you got a good amount of cash on you so you give me that and the little device you have on you and will let you walk out of here." He gave me a threating smirk.

"Fine here." Isaid reaching out in my pockets.

"Good that wasn't so hard now, was it?"

"Nope but wait a sec I got something better for y'all." When I said this their interest peaked and everyone in the bar but they soon gasped as I just pulled out my hands from my pockets flipping the bird. "Fuck off dumbass." I said and the bandits looked pissed.

"Little shit!" He then tried to punch me but I jumped making him miss and literally kicked him out the tavern window.

"BOSS!!" Four of the bandits ran outside to check up on him will the last big one stayed and glared at me.

"You'll pay for that you little fuck!! RO-..." I morphed my arm in to that's of my Ant from giving it ten times and grabbed his mouth interrupting him.

"Let's take this outside." I said and throw him outside as well. "Animal soul: Cat!" I transformed in to my cat form. I gained cat ears, nose, whiskers, claws on hands and feet, and finally a cat tail. "Keep my meal safe for me." I told the waitress and went outside after them.

When I got outside I the two men had gotten up and where glaring at me and so were the other four.

"You've done it now brat do you just messed with the rumble crew more Importantly the boulder brothers." The leader snared at me.

"Never heard of ya." I said nonchalantly.

"Show respect to boss you little shi…" One of the groupies began yelling but I moved fast and punched him square to the face sending him flying surprising the.

"Damn you!! Boulder rush!" One leader casted a large boulder at me which I dodged but ended up damaging a building it hit. "You dodged that but can y…" I than clawed his face causing him to scream in pain.

"Pebble Storm." The other one flung bullets of pebbles at me with I was easily blocking with my sharp claws but some were damaging windows of buildings. "Fuck this kid seems strong we shouldn't hold back!!" He warned the leader how was recovered from the scrath attack.

"Yeh lets unleash our full po…" Before he could finish, I speed blitzed him giving him a strong punch to the neck making cough and before his brother I guess could react I gave him a powerful kick to the chin and I heard a crack.  

I finished the leader off by giving him a strong punch to the nose sending him to the ground while the other one I jumped into the air and kneed the back of his neck finishing him off.

"Hey you the one with the bag you got money in there." I asked the one with the bag and he nodded in fear and I guess the remaining four weren't mages or they were weaker on the two. "Good give it here now and all of you fuck of!" I yelled making the four of them run away. "Not even loyal to there on homies. Here this should cover the damages for all the damages." I than went back to my meal even though I was cold now.

After I was done, I left and some people were whispering about me. Guess word travels fast but at least they weren't acting scared or anything like that. I went over to the village center looking just to take a look at the bell tower with a dragon scaly. It even had a picture of a man and woman alone golden dragon appearing on it.

"Yeah cool." I said and then noticed a man on his forties or so with black and hints of grey hair walking over beside me.

"Thank you, young man our village takes pride in its work." He said looking at the statue. "You seemed interested to know more about it."

"Um yeah I heard this place takes the dragon prayer extra seriously than most places here in Pergande why is that?" I asked him though I was a little on guard because you know he was a stranger.

"Well from what I know there was a great war called the dragon king festival which took place some 400 years ago and back than Pergande was actually know as Per and was part of four other kingdoms which were destroyed by the dragons but Per was spared due to the efforts of a king and four heroes thus the remained lands of the three kingdoms which were destroyed decided to come together to with Per to form the Pergande kingdom.

Our village back different name than but I don't really know was part of the three kingdoms which were destroyed but our village was saved by a dragon formed a friendship with a strong bond with a couple but I don't know the specific detail in who this friendship came to be but all I know is because of it the dragon protected the village to its death with the help of the couple who become fine warriors. Thus, the village-built statues in their honor as well as a local prayer as a thank and finally a community feast." He finished explaining the story and it was pretty obvious there was more to it.

"Tell me young man I heard that you took care of some thugs by the tavern a few minutes ago"

"Yeah, why are you asking you the chief or something?"

"Good guess I am the village chief and I wanted to formally thank you for driving them out of town and responsible enough to pay for damages." He thanked me. "But I ask are you part of a guild?" He asked and I shook my head.

"Naw am here with my er-guardian? Just stopped by to watch the electing of the four horsemen."

"Oh, then you should get ready than its one hour till the ceremony starts." It's been two hours 20 minutes already. I said goodbye to the chief and went off to the pub Morrigan said I should meet her.

I did have like an hour to get ready so maybe I'll mess around for a bit. I went on a nearby tree and transformed into a full-blown cat with black fur and green eyes and jumped up a tree just to relax a bit. I began to remember

Flashback

"Hey Morrigan can I ask you something?" I asked her as we were currently in some random field and we were sitting on the hood of her car.

"Yeah, sure junior what is it?"

"What's the difference between Take-over magic and Transformation magic?" She put put her hand o her chin and nodded to herself.

"Well, you can say Take-over magic is an advanced form of Transformation magic. Let me give you a brief example." She than transformed into me!

"W-Wait what the freak you can use Transformation magic too!?" I was `flabbergasted because now I know she has body magic, requip magic, and now transformation magic. "What more can you do?"

"That's a secret~." She said cheekily and winked which was weird seeing I, my body. "But anyway, back to it right here is a use of transformation magic I merely just mimicked you physical features and basic attributes but if I were to use take over magic I gain access to your magical abilities and I can say they will merge and add on to mine." She explained.

"Oh I was wondering because for a while now I was able to transform into actual animals of my Animal soul but when it comes to my beast soul or let me say Wyvern I turn into a somewhat hybrid and every time I want to transform into its actual forms I can't."

"Well kid first like I said Takeover is an advanced form of Transformation magic so you were using it subconsciously. For the reason you can full transform into animals and not your beasts is because things are harder to transform into than others you need a lot of time and training." She than transformed back and I just nodded.

End of Flashback

"Look daddy that poor kitty is stuck in a tree we have to help it!" A little boy said to his dad and the dad walked over to the tree I was in.

"Come on kitty jump I promise we won't hurt you." He said softly opening his arms. I just chuckled at this and easily climbed down the tree much to the father-son duo's surprise.

"Well thanks for the offer but as you can see, I was alright." When I spoke the two screamed and jumped in surprise and I laughed a little and walked off to the pub to meet up with Morrigan.                                        

At the pub

I entered the pub in my normal state and when I say it was packed it was packed and thankfully it had TVs multiple places on the top counter. Most if not all the seats were taken and people were discussing who the next who will be elected. I than spotted Morrigan by a table and I so I walked over to her and sat by her which she just smiled and patted my head and we turned our attention to the one of the TVs.

The event started and I was quiet the spectacle to be seen. It was almost like was like when a country is about to elect ether next president and it was held a large lake in an amazing looking city which I think is Hercules. And the announcer began speaking and everyone in the pub was silent he then gave the floor to the kind and queen whose names I names where Sebestian Lawe and Willow Lawe.

The king was a tall elegant looking man who seemed to be in his late forties or so with black hair, red eyes, and a pale complexion. He was wearing the typical fancy king clothes with a cape and crown.

The queen was a little shorter than the king seemly in her late thirties or early forties with long brown hair, brown eyes and fair skinned. She wore a very fleshly dress like from those web novels or manhwas. After the king gave his speech full of charisma, it was than time to bring in the new horsemen.

"For the horseman of the military division I give you white horse Calvin Armstrong!" With that a handsome man in his early thirties appeared on screen. He had a stoic expression white hair and blue eyes and had some grey and blue armor on. I noticed Morrigan was glaring hard at the man instead of cheering like everyone else in the pub

"For the horsemen of the Legal division I give you red horse Mei Heartnet!" A beautiful woman in her late twenties appeared on screen. She had red hair, purple eyes, and a black dress though unlike the previous horseman she had a proud and playful smirk on her face.

"Hm so they made her a horseman huh well makes sense." Morrigan whispered while the rest of the pub was divided in mixed reactions. For the women they looked at her like in awe, admiration and um lust. While for the men they looked at her in lust, others respect and other annoyance.

"For the horsemen of the agricultural division I give you black horse Steven Greywood!" A man in his late thirties appeared. He had blonde hair, grey eyes and wore a robe with a robe with a plant like design on it. The pub cheered again but Morrigan didn't have an opinion on this one like the other two.

"And final the pale horse the horse man of health I give you all John Ore!" A man how seemed to be in his late forties going to fifties appeared. He had black hair, black eyes, and a bread, wearing a white robe holding a golden stuff of sorts. "My people of Pergande kingdom I give you our new horsemen!" The king said the huge celebration on TV he gave another began and people in the pub drinking and partying like crazy.

Next day

At the train station

"So why are we taking the train again?" I asked Morrigan we waited by the station. We could have come yesterday but we missed the train due to us not keeping time yesterday after the election of the new horseman.

"Like I told you my car is low on Ethernano and I don't feel like recharging it." She said lazily and the train arrived and all passengers including us boarded than we found our seats.

"Hey Morrigan four horse men are they like wizard saint levels of strong?" I asked.

"I really don't the wizard saints are overrated as fuck in my opinion but I can't deny they are still pretty strong but to answer your question than probably even though the wizard saint title is supposed to represent Ishgar it seemed mor biased to the Fiore country." After she answered got into a comfortable silence as the train move.

"Since we're going to Dreoon is it cool if I stop by to a guild called griffin wing to see some guys will you do whatever it is you're going to do?" I asked her

"Sure, do whatever you want just make sure you stay just alive." She shrugged her shoulders and I smiled at her than took out my phone and started playing subway surfers. "Okay what do you find interesting about that you're just swiping your fingers." She asked and I just rolled my eyes and offered the phone to her.

"Just say you want to play too jeez."
