" Is everyone ok?" Marco asked as the bright light that surrounded them suddenly disappeared.

" What the! No way. How in the hell are you all still alive?"

" The other guild members and the citizens of magnolia remain unharmed. Not a single person was killed." Freed said to laxus

" That's impossible. I cast the fairy law spell perfectly." Laxus said

" Maybe so, but your true feelings have betrayed you. You've inherited more than strength from your grandfather. Deep down you also have the master's heart. Whether you'd admit it or not, you care for your comrades. The fairy law spell only effects those the caster sees as their enemy. Since no one was hurt, we know how you truly feel. You can try to hide your feelings laxus, but your magic will always reveal the truth in your heart." freed said

" No that's ridiculous. The truth is anyone who would dare stand in my is my enemy." Laxus yelled

" This has gone on long enough, you need to go see the master, before he's gone." Freed said

" Let the old man die for all I care. HE'S NOTHING TO ME. HE MAYBE FAMILY, BUT I'M STRONGER!" Laxus yelled as he bulked up again.

" Laxus!"

" Stand down freed. He's made his choice." Marco said as he approached laxus

" Marco, WAIT!" Natsu yelled

" No more Natsu. Laxus has been a member of fairy tail to know better than this, if he wants a fight, he's got one."

" WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!" Laxus yelled

" I'M THE MAN WHO'S GONNA STOP YOU LAXUS!"

" YOU CAN'T BEAT ME!" Laxus yelled attacking marco

" OH YEAH, JUST WATCH ME!" Marco yelled as he and laxus collided with each other

The citizens of magnolia watched as the two wizards burst through what remained of the. the two wizards surrounded by fire and lightning battled each other

" HOW DARE YOU STAND UP TO ME!" Laxus yelled as he punched marco in the face.

" I'M GONNA STOP YOU LAXUS." Marco yelled as he kicked laxus in the face. " I WON'T LET YOU GET YOUR HANDS ON FAIRY TAIL." Marco yelled as the two wizards continued to collide with each other. Each collison causing a shockwave that shook the city below them, " IT'S OUR HOME AND I WON'T LET YOU DESTROY IT!" Marco yelled as he and laxus traded blows, both men punching each other in the face.

" WHY WON'T YOU PEOPLE JUST DIE! LIGHTNING DRAGON DEMOLITION FIST!" Laxus yelled as a giant fist of lightning rushed towards marco.

" PHOENIX DARK FIST!" Marco yelled as a black fist of fire met laxus' attack head on. Creating a massive explosion.

" Those two have used up so much of their magic energy, and yet still they're still outputting so much power." Freed said

" Those guys are real monsters." Gajeel said in shock over the two s-class wizards fighting. " If he had been there when phantom attacked, we would have been crushed without any problems."

" I've.... still got a long way to go." Natsu said as he watched the fight.

" LIGHTNING DRAGON HEAVENWARD HALBERD!" Laxus yelled as a halberd of lightning raged towards marco.

" RED PHOENIX: SEARING MIGRAINE!" Marco yelled as crimson flames raged towards laxus' attack. Creating another explosion of fire and lightning in the sky

" RAGING BOLT!" Laxus yelled as he launched a massive ball of lightning at marco.

" DARK PHOENIX SHADOW BALL!" Marco yelled as his ball of darkness met the ball of lightning, creating a massive pillar of lightning and darkness to blanket the area around them.

" YOU ARROGANT BASTARD! I'LL KILL YOU! LIGHTNING DRAGON!"

" GO AHEAD AND TRY! PHOENIX DARK!

" ROAAAAAAAAR!" The two men yelled as their breath attacks collided, blowing both men across the city.

" I.... Won't lose... to you!" Laxus could barely utter.

" We'll..... see... about that." Marco huffed

The two men stared at each other from miles away. Then at the drop of a leaf, they leaped at each other and prepared one last attack.

" LIGHTNING DRAGON FIRING HAMMER!"

" PHOENIX DARK FIST!"

The men yelled as their respective attacks collided. The friction creating a sphere around them. The two wizards pushed back and forth between each other as the remaining guild members looked on in awe.

" MARCO! BEAT HIM!" Natsu yelled. Cheering on his friend.

" I DON'T UNDERSTAND. WHY?" Laxus asked as his hand was slowly pushed back.

" YOU WANNA KNOW WHY. IT'S BECAUSE SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY YOU LOST YOUR HEART!" Marco roared as his fist finally overpowered Laxus's, and smashed right into the man's chest, sending him flying.

The separation of the two caused the sphere to give way. The city suddenly found itself in a blinding flash of light. When it was all over, the last standing members of fairy tail all made their way to the center of the explosion.

" RAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Marco yelled as he stood over Laxus' body.

" He did it." Gajeel said.

" He actually beat Laxus." Freed said

" Of course, he did. He's always pulled through for us when we needed him." Natsu said with a smile

" RAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Marco yelled in victory.

Later

" Thanks to polyurcicas help, the master is going to be just fine. He will be back in action in no time." Erza said as cheers of joy erupted from the guild hall.

" Thank goodness, I gotta admit I was getting a little worried." Lucy said

" Ah come on, it will take more than that to make gramps kick the bucket." Gray said

" Well, he isn't as young as he used to be so any added stress to his heart could significantly impact his health. So, let's be on our best behavior ok." erza said

" AYE SIR!" The guild yelled

" I don't think it's such a good idea to do the fantasia parade after everything that's happened." Lucy said

" But the master wants us to do it. Besides It's the perfect way to cheer everyone up after all that mess." Mira said

" Yeah lucy. Besides I've been thinking about what I'm going to do all this time." marco said as he appeared behind mira

" I Can't wait to see what you all have in store for the parade." Juvia said in excitement.

" Yeah." Gray said

" You're gonna be in it with us little lady." Cana said

" You're a member, right?" Macao and wakaba both said

" Yeah, I am but I'm so new I didn't think I'd be in the parade." Juvia said making circles with her finger on the pillar.

' I was expecting a little more excitement from her." Wakaba said

" She looks upset." Macao said

" Isn't she the cutest." Cana joked

" Does that mean I'm going to be in the parade too?" Lucy asked

" Well yeah, we need all the people we can get. Especially since we can't use those two." Gray said pointing to natsu and gajeel who were both bandaged up.

" Screw you and you're parade." Gajeel said

" Mm mmm Mmmm mm (I'm still going to be in it)." Natsu said with no one being able to understand a word he said

" Do you have any idea what he just said?" Lucy asked

" Knowing him probably something stupid." Marco laughed

" Come on, how are you going to be a part of the action? You're out!" Gajeel said

" Mhmm mmmmm mmmm(you're jealous of me, aren't you?)." Natsu mumbled

" That has nothing to do with it bro. What the heck is your problem?" Gajeel asked

" I wonder how Gajeel understands him?" Lucy asked

" Probably because he's as stupid as natsu." Marco said

" That was harsh. You got a serious mean streak in you Marco." Lucy said getting a laugh from mira and elfman.

The guild hall was full of joy and laughter, until it settled down after a figure arrived in the hall. It was laxus who had returned.

" Laxus?" macao said

" What do you want?" Wakaba asked

" Where's the old man? Laxus asked

" We ain't telling!" Jet said

" Yeah, you think you can just waltz in here and ask to see the master?' Droy asked getting the others in the guild to boo and tell laxus to leave

" THAT'S ENOUGH!" Marco yelled instantly silencing everyone in the guild.

Marco left Miras side and approached Laxus.

" Marco?" Laxus asked

Marco walked up to laxus and much to the surprise of everyone else in the guild. Marco hugged him. Laxus stood there in shock for a few moments before returning the hug. Marco pulled a hair from the man's head as he broke the hug.

" The master is in the infirmary right now."

" Thank you, Marco." Laxus said as he walked towards the infirmary.

Natsu went to cut him off but was stopped by marco.

" Another time natsu." Marco said as he held the boy down

" Shows over guys. Let's get ready for the fantasia parade." Erza said getting cheers from everyone in the guild, but Marco

" Marco, What's wrong?" Mira asked as she walked over to her man.

" It saddens me." Marco said

" What does?"

" We both know what Laxus' punishment is going to be." Marco said as mira joined him. She too now had a pained expression. " Laxus has been a member of this guild far longer than either of us. He knew his actions would have consequences if he lost. That doesn't mean he didn't feel bad about what he had done. I could feel him fighting his own heart. The pain and the shame of his actions. It saddens me to see such a strong man like him blinded by his own foolishness, that he couldn't see he was going to lose everything he loved." Marco said solemnly. " I need to go take care of something mira, I'll be back in time to prepare for the festival." Marco said as he kissed the woman and left the guild hall.

After a few hours Marco had finished what he needed to do and went out to find Laxus. After searching close to the guild, he found Laxus and the thunder legion in the park

" Yo Laxus." Marco called out

" What is it marco?"

" Tell me, do you remember what I said to you before?" Marco asked

" Yeah."

" Do you know what I meant when I said those words?"

" I do now. But It's too late." Laxus said

" It's never too late Laxus. Though you may not be a part of this guild. You will always be one of us." Marco said as he tore off a piece of paper before handing it to laxus.

" What is this? It's blank." Laxus said

" It's the paper of life. So long as you hold that paper, I'll know if you're still alive, and when you're in trouble we'll be there to help you." Marco said holding out his arm.

" Thank you." Laxus said as he grabbed Marcos's forearm in a strong shake, before walking away.

" And you three." Marco said glaring at the thunder legion. " Never pull a stunt like that again." Marco said before taking his leave as well.

Later that night

It was nightfall, which meant it was time for the parade to begin. The streets of magnolia were filled with people on all sides cheering as the fairy tail guild Marched through the streets with their parade floats, each float showing off an amazing display of their magic and dancing skills.

Bisca, Lucy, and levy all flag danced on a beautiful pink and white heart shaped float, drawing the attention and woos from all the men and women in the crowd. They were followed by a much simpler float; with elfman roaring as loud as he could in his full body take over form. In the middle of the float was a beautiful pink flower that Marco and Mira had emerged from. The two waved towards the crowd before they both transformed. Marco into his phoenix form, which brought many cheers of excitement from the crowd, and mira into a giant snake, which nearly crushed elfman.

Behind them was the magical float of Juvia and Gray. The two had created a magic castle out of water and ice. A combination that showed off their skills and the beauty of their magic.

Following them was erza. Who danced in coordination with her swords before changing armor and continuing the dance. Her beautiful body ensnaring the hearts of all the men.

Behind her Marched natsu, who simply used his fire to spell out fairy tail.

up above them Marco continued to wow the crowd performing many tricks in the air as he his beautiful gold and blue flames of life danced in the air around the city.

Off to the side, Laxus watched as his former guildmates entertained the crowd. Having seen enough Laxus turned to leave, however before he could he turned around to see all the members of fairy tail still on the floats all raise their hands to the sky.

As the city watched this moment Marco flew in overhead.

" PHOENIX ROAR!" Marco yelled as golden flames erupted from his mouth blanketing the sky in a beautiful golden light. Among those in the crowd were friends and former enemies of fairy tail. Lyon and his group, Kageyama of eisenwald, Bora, Eneru, Ur, Sho and the rest of erzas friends, and philia and celia with their parents.

All of them gathered to watch the amazing. FAIRY TAIL!
