23. Dragon Seed

After Ben returned to the guild from his job, he starts to read the books that he has bought in the town. He scans all the spell books first before reading through the books about Gods, Demons, & Curse.

"Hmm, 'Gods are the most powerful beings, even more than dragons.' Of course, they are. What a useless description."-Ben grumbles.

Ben read through the book and finds out that God here isn't the one that he thinks of. These Gods are super strong magical creatures, different from the God concept that he thought of. These Gods have varying power & strength and can be summoned with the correct method.

"Are they Gods or Pokémon? Hmm, maybe Gods & Dragons are legendary Pokémons in disguise."-Ben thinks of a useless thing.

Ben concludes that basically, these Gods are just the strongest creatures on Earthland. They're not the creator of the world or even life & death. Maybe they take care of it, but surely they're not the same Gods as what he thought of.

'That means the Gods who sent me to this world are most likely the real Gods, not just super strong magical creatures. They rule over many world & universes after all, because they can send people's soul to many worlds.'-Ben

Similar to Gods, Demons are also magical creatures. They have intelligent like humans and live together with their group. Furthermore, they're similar to humans in nature. So there are bad & good demons. However, some certain types of demons are confirmed to be bad.

"Etherious? Demons from the 'Book of Zeref'? Damn, this Zeref guy must be very powerful to be able to create demons."-Ben

These Etherious are dangerous demons, and they are known for using 'Curse' instead of magic. There have been a lot of battles with Etherious, and they have varying power scales.

Etherious is being made purely from Ethernano, hence the name. No one knew how Zeref did it, but everyone knew the danger of Etherious.

Ben likes to learn about these creatures, but he is more intrigued by the Curse's power. Different from magic, curses use negative emotions instead of magic power. It still uses Ethernano as fuel, but the demons can change its nature by using negative emotions.

"So it's a different way to use Ethernano besides magic. But it uses negative emotions, which is its strong & weak point."-Ben

Emotions are unstable, so they can be strong sometimes and get weak so suddenly. But these Etheriouses are made of negative emotions themselves. So it's not a problem for them, but it will be a problem for humans.

"Hmm, even if curses have such weakness if used by humans, but it's still an interesting power. I'll try to find a way to learn it in the future and maybe use the concept to improve my magic."-Ben

Too bad that the knowledge about the curses is limited. Maybe only Etherious know the way to utilize the curses. If Ben encounters an Etherious in the future, he will try to extract that knowledge about the curses.

Ben continues to read the book and find another interesting info. He finds out about God Slayer and Devil Slayer. Both magics have a similar trait to his Dragon Slayer magic like they can eat elements.

But of course, their magic types have different traits. They're considered as Lost Spells, meaning their training method had been lost. It will be difficult to find it, and one can only find it by luck.

"Hmm, can these 3 slayer magic be combined and used by one person? Even if it's possible, the burden must be high. Still, I want to research it, maybe it will help with my situation."-Ben

Ben talks about his Dragon Seed. He knew from A. I Chip that dragon slayer like him have dragon seed. If he doesn't stop it, he will turn into a real dragon sooner or later.

A.I. Chip has told him that his dragon seed is still just a seed, it hasn't budded yet. The condition for the dragon seed to bud vary for every dragon slayer. Sun Dragon Slayer like him, have high requirement. Ben has a feeling that it will start to bud once he passes the 100 marks in his stats when he becomes S-Class.

Ben knows his fast growth will hasten his dragon seed's growth. However, he needs to do it, because he can only find the cure after it has started to grow. So he can understand its nature.

A.I. Chip has told Ben a method, that is to have a dragon residing in his body. A. I Chip also realize that Wendy has a dragon in her body. Ben assumes that it's her dragon foster parent, Grandeeney.

The problem is, Ben, get his power from a dead dragon, so he doesn't have any dragon in his body. The dragon has extinct too, so he can't ask or capture one to reside in his body.

The other method to stop the organization is to separate the Dragon Slayer Magic from him through Separation Enchantment. But that's just temporary, and Enchantment isn't easy to learn.

That's why Ben hopes that by having the other 2 slayer magics, he can stop the dragon seed from growing. But he's also worried that these 2 magics will have their own seeds too. If that's the case, then it will just create a new problem for him.

'Sigh, I can only try to find anything useful as I explore the world. A. I Chip have calculated, that I won't have any problem for 6 or 7 years with my current growth rate. After that, I will start to transform slowly, so I still have time to find the cure.'-Ben

Ben has pondered about why the Gods who sent him here gave him this trouble. He has concluded that this is a trial, and they want to observe how he approaches it. There's no way they'll give him such an easy life without any trial, after all.

Will he let himself turn into a dragon, or will he try to stay being a human? The answer is clear, he wants to stay being a human. He knew Dragons are powerful, but he loves his life as a human. Besides, he can't imagine himself mating with a female dragon.

'Ugh, what an unpleasant imagination. I like human girls, so I won't be a dragon. Just imagining of touching those scales in intimate intercourse is just.....'-Ben shiver and have a cringed expression.

Ben removes that thought and focuses more on his problem. His current target is to find the Magic Library, but he doesn't know its location. Roubaul also didn't know it, so he needs to search for it himself.

Magic Library is said to have all kinds of magic that are ever known in history. It is an exaggeration, but that place should have a lot of magic. If Ben can find it, he might find a method to stop his dragon seed from growing.

'I hope that library is on Fiore because it will be hard to find if it's in another country.'-Ben

Ben will explore the world, starting from this Kingdom. He will get all the magic knowledge that he can find on his journey. These God Slayer Magic, Devil Slayer Magic, and Curse are other possibilities for him. He needs to search for more options that can help him to solve this problem.

He doesn't know if they'll work, but he will try to not make himself turn into a dragon. With A.I. Chip, he will have an easier time finding the answer. He knows that the Gods won't give him a trial that he can't solve, or they won't bother to give it to him. It's just that solving the trial won't be easy at all.

"Even if it's hard, I will try to solve it. Giving up before trying isn't my style at all. If after I try very hard, and I fail, then so be it, at least I've tried. Life is not a straight path, anything can happen"-Ben
