Chapter 96: Important Talks

Chapter 96: Important Talks

~Silva K. POV~

[September 23, X784]

*Shiii*

Focus…

Focus…

And…

*Pop*

I lost it…

Listening to the popping sounds of attempting my Mana Zone I frowned seeing no luck with Mavis having a chess board ready, "Hey Silva it's Chess Day! I want to see if you improved making your own tactics?"

Sighing at this if it was any other free time of the day, I would enjoy a good challenge of the minds with Mavis.

After all, she's one of the greatest tactical minds in this world and by playing chess with her helps improve my own planning.

It's frustrating I keep losing to this loli granny but it certainly helps keep me ahead against other players in the future.

But declining for the moment of the morning I replied to Mavis in a tired tone of postponing chess day to night for today, "Sorry Mavis but how about we postpone it till later at night? I have some guesses coming soon to talk about some heavy stuff. You want to observe?"

She shook her head as she sighed replying the usual of what she was planning to do as she phased through Lucy's room, "Sigh… nope. It would be rude to do so but, in the meantime, I'll go ahead and see Lucy's room searching for her underwear. It baffles me how much kinky underwear or her novel. I'll be back for chess night later. Bye for now Silva. Boooo~"

I couldn't help but lightly chuckle as Mavis acts like a ghost leaving me alone till my guest arrives.

"AHH!!"

"WHY IS MY UNDERWEAR FLYING?!!"

"NO WAIT GIVE THAT BACK!!!"

"DAMN YOU APARTMENT GHOST!!"

Ahh…

One of the perks that Mavis is amusingly enjoying of haunting Lucy as I shake my head helplessly at Mavis-Sensei's antics.

She would kick it off well with Mira in pranks.

But that's beside the point though.

Returning my attention, I need to discuss a few things with Gray today I expect him to come with Juvia taking the time to sightsee around Magnolia Town with Levy getting to know each other.

Hopefully, both will play nice with each other without any worries. Now then about the rewards I got…

Holding in my free hand is the Water Lacrima Juvia's character item and leaning to the wall is Trisula which bears resemblance to either the Chinese Guandao or the Japanese Naginata.

<Observe >.

----

Item: Trisula

Rarity Item: C

Type: Naginata

Description: The Naginata Trisula, like all other Shingu, was created four hundred years before the start of the series by the Emperor of that time in an attempt to create weapons that could surpass the Teigu. Its most prominent feature is its ability to extend its shaft, which allows for surprise attacks and long-range combat.

Item: Water Lacrima

Rarity Item: D

Type: Lacrima

Description: Raises STR and AGI by 15. When Silva is on the team, 5% damage increase and a 5% damage reduction.

----

Raising an eyebrow at the Water Lacrima I can guess it should've said Gray but with how I intervened it changed into my name instead of Gray's. Guess that works out in my favor better.

I'll hand this to my Saber to have a better chance in future fights and increasing AGI isn't bad either.

With them taking their time it's best, that I get ready for when Gray appears. Out of all the members I read, he says he has a better relationship with Cana since I need her to help get Juvia eased in with the other members.

Hopefully, by being around her it would be easier for other guild members to see her as a friend than fear around her.

*Knock*

*Knock*

Hearing the knocks over the door canceling my concentration heading towards the door I opened it to reveal Gray and Ur.

Blinking a bit surprised I let the two ice wizards inside greeting them in a friendly manner, "Oh? Ur didn't expect to see you here. Welcome inside."

She thanked me, but she had an unsettled expression on her face letting the two sit on the couch with me taking a sit with Gray starting things up, "Sorry to barge in with this. I know you wanted to ask me something, but I also wanted to discuss what you found out about Ultear when you found out what happened to Jellal. We both know you held back on Erza and her friend's account."

Ah…

Understanding what Gray meant I sighed since he knows me well enough to withhold information causing me to respond, "Sigh… figured I couldn't that much from your old pal. But yeah, I did withhold some info since it was a bit much for the time. So… how much would you like to know."

The two gulped as Ur with a helpless expression began to start the conversation with desperation in her tone, "Please… I know you may not know this but I once thought my own daughter to have died by the information of the Bureau of Magical Development –"

Deciding to act surprised I couldn't help but voice out a fact that caught her by surprise with my tone laced with uncertainty, "The Bureau of Magical Development… by chance did you receive word of a man called Brain at the time?"

She blinked confused as Gray took a thinking position before his expression changed to an uncomfortable expression speaking, "Wait… you mean what happened to Bureau expulsion of that guy and destruction…?"

Ah, so he does know but hasn't connected the dots.

Nodding confirming his suspicions in a surprised tone admitting what happened but also curious about how he knew, "Yup. The very same one that mysteriously disappeared with all the staff killed and the facility destroyed. Although I'm curious how you knew?"

Gray replied in a calm tone taking a deep breath surprising me with his own investigation into Ultear much to Ur surprise, "I did my own investigation on the matter. When I heard the name Ultear Milkovich and knew you withhold information… I decided to look for the name of Ur's daughter even if it was a wild goose chase or the chances were not possible I looked till I found out about the Bureau of Magical Development that master mentioned one time…"

It seems like I underestimated Gray's resourcefulness with a nod of understanding explaining the possibility with Ur shaking in disbelief, "Right the same one. At the time a man named Brain was the head of the Bureau and some disturbing rumors about the place trying to increase a human Magic Power through human experimentation."

Ur eyes widen at the implications panting heavily listening as her heartbeat increasing eyes dilating at our conversation with Gray holding her hand to reassure her.

Taking a few minutes Ur finally responded in a heartbroken tone as she spoke, "Why? If my Ultear survived, then why hasn't she come home…"

Taking this moment to speak out to Ur causing her eyes to tear up at the truth of a possibility that happened but is difficult for them to believe, "Maybe… maybe she did return years later but perhaps from afar when she noticed you with Gray and Lyon as kids… I can't imagine how a child would see if her mother was smiling happily with other kids her age unaware her daughter is alive and replaced –"

Ur looked at me defiantly at my claims standing as she began to cry, "No!! I would never replace my daughter like that!!"

Taking the moment to let Ur calm down I replied in a calm tone sighing heavily at the news of what happened, "Sigh… Understanding that but would Ultear in her damaged child mind would be able to understand that fact?"

Ur paused taking a seat down crying silently with Gray to comfort her unsure as he gazed at me because what I said could be true.

Letting Ur release herself crying about wanting her daughter back as she then sleeps with Gray talking to me with uncertainty in his voice, "Damn… I didn't think Master's daughter would be treated like that… I never even knew she was alive all this time and yet…"

I placed a hand over Gray's shoulder causing me to sigh at the situation developing as I responded to him in a serious tone, "Things like this can happen Gray. Fate certainly has a sick twisted sense of humor in showing these kinds of life. But Ultear wasn't the only survivor the man Brain is still on the run from what I recall reading Brain's article in the news with my Eye Magic."

Gray eyes harden giving them both someone to vent their frustration and vengeance for what happened as he took a deep breath and exhaled, "Whew… thanks for being honest with us man. I know both of us needed to hear this. And where to find this Brain bastard for what's he done to Master."

Taking the moment to readjust himself he blinked before reminding me of a topic I was meaning to return towards, "Oh right! I forgot you wanted to ask something before getting derailed by Ur's request."

Ah right.

Clasping my hands together I nodded as I wanted to ask if Cana could come and help Juvia settle in surprising him, "I read over the Sorcerer Weekly you have a good relationship with Cana. I was wondering if you could ask her to help Juvia settle in with the guild since some members still fear her for her prior connection to Phantom Lord. Just by hanging around Cana who seems to be an older sister figure to the members might change their minds."

Gray looked at me surprised by asking him to go ask Cana to help Juvia smiling then a curt nod appreciating the lengths to help Juvia out, "Sure man. It's the least I can do for you to help me. Must admit though you sure go all out helping Juvia fit in but then again that seems to be a good trait you have. I'll ask when Cana's around she should be back by tomorrow."

Thanking Gray for the help I couldn't but be glad and just when I thought things would get better.
