Chapter 10:Meeting Natsu and Happy

As Lucy stepped outside the tavern, she heard the townsfolk whispering among themselves. The snippets of their conversation caught her attention.

"Have you heard? There's a dragon seen at the town of Greythorn."

"Really? I heard it was the Dark Vortex's doing. Apparently, there's a mage who can summon dragons and control them."

Lucy paused, her curiosity piqued. "Excuse me," she said, approaching one of the whispering townsfolk. "Can you tell me more about this dragon?"

Before the person could respond, a man with spiky pink hair and a blue cat by his side walked up. "Hey ma'am, about this dragon...?" he asked the person Lucy was speaking to.

Lucy looked at the newcomer, taking in his unique appearance. 'He's cute,' she thought, quickly shaking off the thought.

The townsfolk looked between Lucy and the man, then nodded. "They say a dragon's been seen in Greythorn. They think it's a Sun Demon Dragon and an Ice Demon Dragon."

The man with the pink hair's eyes lit up with interest. "Could you tell me more? Is that the one who disappeared on July 7, Year 777? Have you heard of a fire dragon called Igneel?"

"No, I haven't heard of him," the townsfolk replied. "But the dragon in Greythorn is said to be dangerous."

The man nodded, thanking the townsfolk. He turned to Lucy, extending a hand. "I'm Natsu, and this blue cat here is Happy. We're from Fairy Tail."

Lucy shook his hand, introducing herself. "Lucy. It's nice to meet you. Are you on a quest from the guild?"

Natsu shook his head. "No, it's not a quest. I got permission from the Master to look for a dragon. You see, on July 7, Year 777, the dragon who trained me disappeared. I'm a Dragon Slayer. Igneel was like my dad."

Lucy's eyes widened in surprise. "A Dragon Slayer? That's incredible. I'm on a mission of my own. I'm looking for the Dark Vortex."

Natsu's expression grew serious. "Dark Vortex? They're bad news. What do you want with them?"

"It's personal," Lucy replied, her voice steady. "I need to find their leader."

Natsu nodded, understanding the determination in her eyes. "Well, if you're heading to Greythorn, maybe we can help each other out. I'm looking for dragons, and it sounds like the Dark Vortex might be involved."

Lucy smiled, feeling a sense of camaraderie. "That sounds like a plan. Let's go together."

As they walked towards their next destination, Lucy couldn't help but steal glances at Natsu. 'Damn, he's really my type. Calm down, Lucy. You haven't taken revenge yet. You can't fall in love.'

Happy, the blue cat, floated alongside them, his wings fluttering. "Aye! This is going to be fun!"

"So, you're from Fairy Tail?" Lucy asked, trying to make conversation. "I've heard a lot about your guild. You guys are pretty famous."

Natsu grinned. "Yeah, we're pretty awesome. We get into a lot of trouble, but we always get the job done. What about you? Are you from a guild?"

Lucy shook her head. "No, I'm working alone right now. My parents...they were killed by the Dark Vortex. I'm trying to find them and make them pay."

Natsu's expression softened. "I'm sorry to hear that. If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know."

"Thanks," Lucy said, appreciating his offer. "I'll need all the help I can get."

As they continued walking, the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the landscape. They decided to set up camp for the night, finding a small clearing near a stream.

Natsu gathered firewood while Lucy set up her tent. Happy busied himself catching fish from the stream, proudly presenting his catch to Natsu and Lucy.

"Nice job, Happy," Natsu said, patting the cat on the head. "We'll have a feast tonight!"

Happy beamed, his wings fluttering with excitement. "Aye! I love fish!"

As they sat around the campfire, enjoying their meal, Lucy found herself relaxing for the first time in a while. The warmth of the fire and the company of new friends eased the tension in her shoulders.

"So, tell me more about this Igneel," Lucy said, curious about Natsu's story.

Natsu's eyes softened as he looked into the fire. "Igneel was a fire dragon. He found me when I was just a kid and raised me like his own. He taught me everything I know about Dragon Slayer magic. Then, one day, he just disappeared. I've been looking for him ever since."

Lucy listened intently, feeling a connection to Natsu's story. "It must be hard, not knowing what happened to him."

Natsu nodded. "Yeah, it is. But I can't give up. I know he's out there somewhere."

"We'll find him," Lucy said confidently.

Natsu smiled. "Yeah, thank you."

Lucy saw Natsu smiling. 'He's really cute when he smiles,' she thought and blushed. Natsu noticed Lucy turning red and leaned closer, touching her forehead. "Lucy, are you okay? Are you sick or something?"

Lucy quickly shook her head, trying to hide her embarrassment. "No, no, I'm fine. Just...a little tired from all the traveling."

Natsu tilted his head, still concerned. "Are you sure? You look kinda flushed."

"I'm sure," Lucy insisted, giving him a reassuring smile. "Thank you for worrying about me."

Natsu nodded, still keeping an eye on her. "Alright, but if you start feeling worse, let me know, okay?"

"I will," Lucy promised, grateful for his concern.

As the night went on, they continued sharing stories, the bond between them growing stronger with each passing moment. Lucy felt a glimmer of hope for the first time in a long while. With Natsu and Happy by her side, she knew she could face whatever challenges lay ahead.

"Tomorrow, we head for Greythorn," Natsu said, determination in his voice. "We'll find those dragons and deal with whatever Dark Vortex is up to."

Lucy nodded, her resolve matching his. "Together."

The fire crackled softly as they settled in for the night, the stars twinkling above them. For the first time in a long while, Lucy felt a sense of peace. She had allies, friends, and a purpose. The journey ahead would be tough, but she was ready for it.

As sleep began to claim her, Lucy couldn't help but glance at Natsu one last time. 'Maybe, just maybe, I can have both revenge and love,' she thought, a small smile playing on her lips as she drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

well for lucy i don't think so she's super op rn and giving her a dragon slaying magic would be too much even without it she can literally kill a dragon thats all thank you
