3. Awakening (2)

Darcio felt a burning sensation next to where his heart was. The prana he had absorbed from the surroundings had concentrated and formed a prana heart that everyone who awakens owns. This prana heart would varey from person as prana capacity, attributes, prana purity and prana density.

Once he opened his eyes and looked around one by one everyone else had completed the absorption of prana into the body completing only half of the ceremony.

A woman pushing a mechanical apparatus entered into the auditorium and placed it in the middle and walked out.

"Now it's the last step that will make or break your future dreams!" Shouted the old man. "All you need to do is place your hand over this orb and it will deduce your initial talent and finally announce what your class is!"

Students were called one by one and then "Rex!" The name of the school's number one bully was called up and a red haired boy with a slight muscular build stood up and walked down the stairs from where he had sat.

"Tch! Look at Mr high and mighty walking like the world belongs to him." Darcio spat.

Rex placed his hand on top of the shiny crystal ball and then it started to change colours gradually from black, to grey, to white, to silver, to gold, to platinum and then finally it was a mix of diamond and platinum.

"Oh so we got a rare one an A+ awakening." Someone said.

"Hah! I expected it since it was him."

"As always the bad people have the best luck!"

People commented left and right from frustration to elated comments.

"Welp now I know if I'm not an S rank then imma die any day soon." Darcio muttered.

"B-but I'll protect you." Stammered Liliana.

"Hmmm! What was that?"

"N-nothing."

"Awakened ability, fire storm!" Shouted the old man as he had a bright smile plastered onto his face.

"Liliana!"

She descended the flight of stairs and did the same as everyone else. Putting her hand on the crystal ball and waiting. This time it was a little fast as it stopped on diamond with a tinge of red to it.

"Awakened rank, S+. Awakened ability queen of ice."

"Eeeeh the cold queen actually awakened an ice ability." Said on if the students.

As she walked back to her place everyone's gaze was fixed onto her.

"Phwwwwhht!" Darcio whisled. "And off the bat miss royalty shocks the crowd with her bitter cold heart once again!"

"Can you not!" She said back. "Your making me blush!"

"Oh so the heart's not that cold!? I think today is doomsday since the ice princess is blushing."

"Hmph"

Liliana hurramphed and looked to the side.

Afew more announcements later and finally.

"Darcio Ajal!" The old man shouted and gave off a sigh. 'Oh lord if you truly exist then please spare us from this monster of a human.' He inwardly though as deep furrows could be seen forming on his head.

Darcio stood up with a toothy grin. He matched down the stairs braggantly until he reached the apparatus. "I know I'm basking in glory!" He said to the old man.

'If only this imbecile knew the hatred he has gathered in this life. I'm sure he must be the reincarnation of a devil'

Darcio placed his hand onto the ball and after some time it lit up and then the unimaginable happened. The ball turned black and no further changes occured.

"Darcio -F rank. Ability soul storage!"

"Eh! Eh! Ehhhh!" Darcio was buffled with his jaw hanging from his socket as he gawked. "No this has to be impossible!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.

Darcio turned around and walked away back to his seat muttering to himself. All around him he could hear muffled voices not making out what they were as he felt all blood drain from his body.

He sat back down next to Liliana. "I told you that I will protect you in any circumstance." She said while looking at him with a concerned gaze.

She opened her mouth to say some words of encouragement but they stuck in her throat and she just looked at the destroyer boy.
