SUSPICIOUS

Beep Beep.

I heard the alarm. I'm still at the same place. I guess I must have dozed off after reading for a long while. My mind was brought back to the information Annika gave me. I didn't know. The author didn't talk much about Africa in his novel as he was focused on only the MC and his comrades.

The base of monsters huh,I thought. I need to awaken fast.

Then I remember what the professor said. I ought to have asked her name for identification. One in a million huh. Well then, let the search officially begin. Annika and Kofi must be wondering what my answer will be. Ha,gave them a scare yesterday. It had been three days since I came here. No trouble! That's good I'm in the clear. Oh,there was an event that happened during the mock examinations in the novel. Not my problem, infact I should think about myself and how I will survive here. The MC has both mana and system while I have none. Unless if fate permit, we are on different paths.

I quickly checked the class schedule for today. My classes for combat major held from Monday to Wednesday while Thursday and Friday were minor classes or training. I headed to the bathroom and washed my self. Wearing my watching,I clicked into the friends section and saw many text from Kofi

I don't feel good about this. I left my dorm room and headed out of the dorm but I was stopped by two hefty men. I guess they are instructors.

"You are being called to the principal office",I heard one say. "Follow me".

"Oh okay", I replied looking at both of them. I don't think I can withstand a punch from anyone of them. Tch I need mana.

I follow them and we passed by many building. Ok this is taking a while. We keep on moving and I noticed many people looking at me. Hope I'm not in trouble, am I?. Come-on , I just celebrate my time of no trouble. Why me?. The principal office came into view and we entered. We made way to his office and I knocked.

"Come in",I heard a voice say. It wasn't deep or thin. Maybe between. I looked at the two besides me , swallowing my saliva I entered and moved politely.

'You asked of me sir",I said with a polite voice

"Yes, please seat",the principal said directing his hand to the chair in front of me.

I kept quiet, waiting for the principal to talk. I caught his name. Professor Wole. That name's familiar. Ha in the library, one of the S ranked figure in Africa.

'Where were you last night?", The principal ask me watching my every move.

I shuddered

"My dorm"

"You sure?'

"Yes sir,I didn't leave my dorm"

"Hmm, then what can you say about this"

He showed me a security footage where I left my dorm dressed in black.

Huh? Who is this? I thought

"Sir this is not me. I don't even like black. Who is this person. Is this a prank?"

"That's what I would like to know",Principal Wole said removing the footage from my eyes. "Last night , three D class students were found dead beside the lake. Worst off ,they were striped off of their mana and skills before dying a gruesome dead. So I would really like to know where you were last night."

"Th..is ..is.s new to me sir",I said starmmering." I didn't do this. I have never killed a human before. Someone is impersonating me sir. This is the truth sir. That's not me."

"Well,we could confirm your word", principal Wole said resting his back.

"Enter"

The two figures that escorted me entered the room.

"Take him to the Vice principal and report back".

"Understood sir"

I stood up and followed them but before I left I ask

"Sir, who died yesterday?"

"Ibe,kwame and Emeka".

Ibe,how? I was looking forward to our next match with mana. So how?

I left the room and ended to the Vice principal office with the two men.

I knocked as I got there.

"Come in"

I entered and saw a woman seated with much papers on her desk.She was light skinned with a ponytailed hair. Nice, most people I saw around were either the chocolate type or dark skinned type. She was holding a phone, apparently she was in a call.

"Tell the press we will release an official statement and tell the hero organization that we have this under control".

Okay, with that she ended the call.

"Oh if it isn't the suspected killer"

"I didn't do it",I said raising both my hand." I'm innocent."

"Have a seat".

I sat down on a chair in front of her a office table separating us.

"So where were you last night?"

"My dorm room"

"Doing what?"

"I read for some hours before sleeping"

"Oh the study type", she said with a smark. "As expected"

"Did you go out between the hours of 9pm to 4am"

"No,I was in my room."

"Touch the orb in front of you"

"Okay",I said I touched the orb. "It glowed as it showed white."

"What is the orb for", I asked in curiosity.

"It's a truth detector. It's for confirming your words. The colour you see in front of you shows that you are saying the truth. If you lie, there won't be a reaction from the orb. Okay you are allowed to leave but we will be watching your every move".

I left the office and the men allowed me to leave the building. I went to my class straight as I was late. The moment I entered the class, everybody looked at my direction. Mostly with hate, some with astonishment. Then I heard the air move and felt a great pain in my stomach. I moved backwards and fell .

Looking up I saw a fist in my face. I saw that girl ,I remember her name, Ife. She's fast I didn't see her

"Stop Ife or I will remove your assessment points",I heard the professor say. Thus time ,the professor was a male. Handsome with black hair and blue eyes. I wondered why they were blue. Maybe it's related to his skill

"But professor,he killed Ibe"

"I did no such thing. I'm innocent fool "

"What did you call me?"

"Yeah you heard what I said"

"30 assessment points deducted from both of you".

Huh, my heart fell. 30 point! I had 100 points before. That means I had 70 left. No,this is bad. It's not good for my mock.

Assessment points were points used to grade our examinations and determine our ranking. We could also use the points to buy skills books or potions or read advanced books in the library.

"Humph", Ife snorted moving back to her seat

"As you know, he's only suspected and not the killer,he said and turned to me. You can go back to your seat"

I stood up and went to the bank as usual and sat in front of Kofi. The professor continued his lecture. He was talking about different monster Physique and their weakness. As I was listening,I felt a paper move from the my back to my desk. There were words there. I looked backwards and saw Kofi wink. It was awkward.

I place the paper on my book and wrote on it

•No ,it wasn't me. I don't know why I'm framed. Maybe it's because of the fight we had•

As I wrote the last sentence,the words disappeared. I was surprised. Is this magic?.

• it's a D rank invisible paper. It's a special paper that uses our DNA to establish a connection . I got it from my parent. It can be used to send information secretly as only you and I can see the paper.

I remember. This paper was what one of the MC male comrades used to alert his father of the invasion. That's for another time

After a while,the class ended and everyone left. Apparently for training. I left the class also and went to the lake. Yes,the lake where Ibe got killed. Nothing unusual,no footprints and no blood. This place was cleaned after the bodies were found. I guess the authorities wanted to prevent panic from happening in the school. As I was about to leave, my cells cried alerting me of danger. Instinctively,I move the the other side tilting my head. Almost immediately,a dagger passed my head and struck the tree besides me. I looked to the direction it came from and saw two figures coming out

"You have a good danger sense",the figure said revealing herself. "As expected of the killer."

"Ife",I replied quietly clicking my teeth. I admit that I'm sensitive to my environment especially danger. Every since that day when I receive those skills from that box,I felt my senses increasing especially to danger. I react swiftly if I'm in danger. This was the reason why I lasted that long against Ibe.

"Hey I'm talking to you, don't ignore me",I heard ife say. I guess she was angry.

"If you will excuse me,I have to go"

"What? Hey we have a score to settle. Hey wait.."

Wait for who? I'm in trouble already and you want to add more to my back

I hurried along the path to the training center. She didn't follow me as the other guy beside her held her down till I left.

I entered the training center and went to the section for first years. I met a lot of students there from all classes practicing. I also didn't want to be left out so I went to the weapons section. I didn't pick a sword because I have plans for it later. I went to pick a gun and entered the shooting hall. Well I could count the students there. We were just about 10. People don't like guns these days huh. Maybe because bullets failed them in the war? Anyways, I put all this feeling aside and wore the eye and ear protection sets. I stood at the 10 meter mark and directed my gun to the target.

Bam Bam Bam

Three bullets went out of the bullet. All went off mark. I wasn't disappointed besides I didn't use guns or any weapons in my former world so this is just a start.

"You won't be about to hit anything with that gun",I heard someone say. I look to my right and saw an instructor. He was quite familiar. Oh he was the one that watched over my duel.

"Afternoon sir",greeted. "Yeah I know. I'm just trying to get used to the recoil. But it would be great if you can point a few pointers".

The instructor kept quiet for a while before moving closer to me.

"It would take a chunk of your time."

"I would gladly give it."

"Okay."

He proceeded to teach the method on how to fire accurately. He talked about the aim of my gun,the breathing control,the stance i needed. Also he taught me movement control and trigger control. Later he gave some books on the art of shooting. He said it contains all that he said. Now that I think about it, using one hand to shoot during the duel as a beginner was foolish of me. Well,I ended up practicing for the rest of the day. My enhanced senses did help a lot and I could hit the bullseye before I left the shooting hall.

I was hungry so I went to the cafeteria to satiate myself as it was dark. I ended up spending more time that usual. I had a help today. I forget to ask his name. I should ask next time. I was about to leave when Kofi came to my side and deliver a shocking news. Ife and Bayo were also attacked and had serious injuries. All hands points to me. Instead of me being scared, the feeling I felt was intriguing. For Kofi's safety, I told him to stay away from me for while. I left the cafeteria and entered my door room. Ohh, you must have noticed that I'm the only one inside the room. Well the school had a special room for the last rankers. Thankfully it was one per room. Kofi side was a stone throw from my side but he hadn't come and visit in a while. I guess he's still awaiting my decision.

I sat on the bed and replayed all that had happened.

Well then,time to strategize.

Meanwhile at the principal office

"All these happened today after we interrogated him"

"Yes Principal", a voice was heard. Clearly,the principal was on a call

"I see, send word to VP*. Tell her that she's needed here."

"Okay sir",

The call ended

"Why Femi why him"

"You called me?", The VP entered after knocking.

"You came early Gladys."

"Yes, I had to leave the meeting when I got your message. I was briefed on the way"

"Is it him?"

"I have been watching him and I saw nothing out of the usual"

"Then why point incriminating evidence to him"

"Do you think it's because...."

"No, only you and I can sense that from him. There had to be another reason."

"Then,I will continue watching him"

"Good, what about the hero organization?

"They believe we can handle this. Only if it get out of hand will they intervain."

"I see. You can go"

"Ok old man"

"Ah kids nowadays."

I woke up from the bed and headed to wash myself up. Today is going to be a long one. I put on my uniform and watch and headed out.

Today,I had minor classes first was business and the next was in computer science.

I entered the class and stayed at the back as usual. It wasn't surprising when no one sat around me. You don't want to be sitting with a killer,do you? Afternoon came and I sat at a bench near a ice cream stand. I could feel all sort of eyes watching me. But there was one that was unique. I felt the darkness around it.

A dark mage? I thought.

After resting a little bit, I went to the training hall to practice my shooting skills. Evening came and I left to have a nice meal. The eyes watching me double. I had to avoid them. Then I started. Weaving through the crowd of students especially girls,I had different scents of me. Girls and perfumes Huh. Then using my senses I got rid of all my stalkers and not having mana help since they could not trace me. before heading to the lake. Yes the same lake where Ibe died. It took me time but I got there.

Even though I tried to get rid of all, there was still one that followed me . I felt that darkness

"I know you are there"

"Oh, you can sense me. Guess you much explaining to do Femi", a figure came out of the shadows. Removing his hood that covered his face,he moved towards me

"You.. ",I widened my eyes in surprise.
