The kingdom of Lavosh: Attack Of The Kingdom

Alice's POV

5 minutes until the attack-

Sigh. "Princess, it's about time to sleep don't you think? It's night already."

We were in the library. It was located in the inner castle on the 3rd floor, the library was filled with books that are just so interesting to read. Marcella didn't mind the books as much, but however I do.

"No, no, no i'm almost done reading this last book. This book about the Han continent is so fascinating"

Marcella was disappointed. Who wanted to get ready for bed? Marcella fumbled around the place until she noticed a type of light.

"What.. Is that..? Wait! It's a type of spellcasting! Princess we have to—"

"Oh it's probably just people training, don't worry about it."

Suddenly the castle shook from all the fighting going on. Marcella looked at me with a serious concern that said what about now?

"O-okay maybe you were right..."

We began running out of the library and suddenly, my head started to hurt which slowed down my pace.

"Princess, are you alright? Your pace is slowing down.."

"Y-yea I'm alright it's just—"

I began to see flashes of white light. My consciousness began to fade, I began to see memories of people I hadn't seen before, and people I have met before, the info was so intense that my brain couldn't keep up. Finally all the memories faded and I saw a woman of black skin.

"So, he isn't here yet, huh?", the woman asked. She had striking purple dreadlocked hair coming down to her waist.

"Uhm, who isn't here yet?" I asked.

"You'll find out here shortly, but anyways. I have something I need to discuss with just you"

"Something you… Need to discuss? Who are you anyway?"

The Woman, with a snap of her fingers changed the scenery to many different types of things, but the scenery she decided on was of a log cabin house. When she created the house, she spawned a table with tea on it.

"This should do it. I get tired of being in that stuffy white space, don't you agree?"

"I uh- I guess?

"I see, not much of a talker, huh? Well come, sit down."

I nodded my head saying nothing in silence. I gazed all over the place, but eventually sat down at the table. Staring at the tea I grabbed the handle of the tea cup and sipped some of it. It tasted like nothing, however it quenched my body of thirst as if it was water, but somehow it was not? Very strange.

"It's like water in a way," I said.

"Yes, since I'm using your consciousness you can't really taste anything, Anyways. About your question from earlier, I am Maiya, the time sorceress, the only one in the world, I'm kind of a big shot so you should praise me haha."

I just sat there not saying anything. It grew quiet all of a sudden, until the woman spoke out.

"Uhm, ahem. So I'm like a deity, but you can just call me godmother for now. So it's about time for me to tell you about your white eye."

"You can tell me about my eye?! Please tell me anything you know!"

"Okay, okay settle down kiddo. Your eye is something no one should see. The reason for that is because your eye is pure. From now on try to wear an eye patch wherever you go"

A pure eye… there are many questions I have, however I wonder why no one should see it? There's already so many people that have seen it already, is that a problem?

"Yes, a pure eye is a gift that only very few have every few centuries or so. That eye could be the key to change the world in either a good way, or bad way."

"B-but I can barely even use a sword, how can I be any of those things?"

The woman put her fingers against her chin.

"Oh… I didn't know that."

"Are you sure you're a time sorceress?"

"Hey! I'm sure I'm a time sorceress!"

I sighed and sipped some of the water-like tea. After some silence she kept looking at me with glee. I tried to not make eye contact with her, but eventually I asked a question.

"S-so why can't anybody see it? Alot of people have already seen my eye."

"Well, it's more like don't let people who know about the eye see it," the woman said seriously, but she still seemed calm.

"Oh, I understand. I guess I'll have to wear an eye patch from now on huh?" I thought outloud.

"Haha, it seems so."

After that my Brother showed up. My consciousness started to fade and went back to my body once the talk with Youm was over.

"Princess! Princess! Are you okay? Can you hear me?"

My eyes awoke and I sat up from the floor. I felt a sudden headache coming toward my head, I put my hand against it.

"Yea, I can hear you. How long was I knocked out for?"

"Not long, Princess, about a minute or so."

"Ugh.. My head doesn't feel right."

Maybe going there gives some kind of side effect. 'A pure eye' huh.

While I was in deep thought. Marcella came to help me up "can you stand, Princess?" she asked in a worried manner.

I stood up slowly by using her hand to help me up. "Y-yea I can, let's go to my brother."

Boumen's POV-

3 minutes after the attack

was in my office. The candle next to my desk had almost melted. The feather pen was all I could hear, it was very, very silent, but then, I heard an explosion. I sat up from my seat and looked out the window. Rubert bursted out from the door with a panicked expression as if he had seen a ghost.

"S-s-Sir! WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!"

With a calm but worrisome manner I asked "is it about the explosion I just heard?"

"Y-yes Your Majesty, uhm we're being attacked by unknown mercenaries. They somehow opened the gate, I'm guessing they had spies from the inside. They then launched fire magèia and now the lower town closest to the gate is on fire."

I was shocked by the news Rubert had told me. I gritted my teeth and seriously said "Rubert, tell the men to evacuate the people. Also what was the color of the flag?"

"On it sir. It was black with a dragon symbol, why? Is it important.", Rubert said

"Damn, it's him… Rubert, hurry, evacuate!"

"Y-yes as you command!" Rubert scurried off.

I sat down with the palm of my hand covering my face. I took a deep sigh and began looking out the window. All I could see was destruction. My once beautiful thriving kingdom was now becoming ash in the matter of just a few minutes. "Taichou... Why...?"

Youm's POV-

I had regained consciousness from that long meeting with Alice and that woman... Was it a dream…? No, that can't be the case, it was much too real to be one... At least, that's what I believe. So, what is this Focus Of Endings she gave me? God, it wouldn't have been so hard to figure it out if she just told me.

"Oh Prince Youm, are you okay?!"

A Demon?! Oh, no it's just Flare. I've never seen her so panicked before… hehe that gives me an idea.

"Oh? You're worried about me? I thought you only cared about teasing me?"

"Oh please. I was just worried that my income would be lost if you died on me."

Was she actually blushing? That's surprising, I just thought I'd tease her some.

Suddenly there was an explosion that sounded like it was near the castle. That couldn't possibly be… Are we in the midst of a battle? But we've never been attacked before. We have good ties to fellow nations so-

"Flare, do you know what's going on outside?"

"I heard some soldiers talking about mercenaries attacking- but it could be another kingdom as well but-"

Mercenaries? Mere mercenaries? Don't get me wrong, I think mercenaries have their own strength but… I don't think they could do this much damage. I at least haven't heard of a mercenary gang that can rival our own kingdom.

"Flare, we have to go to Dad's office. I need to find out what's going on."

His office was on the 4th floor, we were on the 3rd floor so if we needed to go to him then now would be the best bet before the enemy stormed the place. Judging by where the fire was they'd probably arrive here in due time.

"C'mon, let's go.", I said.

Flare nodded her head and followed me as we ran to where the stairs were.

A minute or two passed. Explosions from outside could be heard even from inside the castle. Just what is going on down there? I could hear swords clashing in the distance. Were my ears always this sensitive? It wasn't like this before I was running. I wondered how Flare thought about this… What about Alice, and Marcella? I hoped they were okay.

"The stairs aren't too far from here, Prince Youm." Flare said, hastily.

I nodded. Finally we arrived at the stairs, we ran up them then ran straight to the left of the hall. At the end was his office, we were almost there now. We arrived at the door, and in a rush opened it. There stood my Dad looking out the window.

"Dad, who are the people that are attacking us right now?"

"Hmm...", He turned around with a calm expression.

I haven't seen him like this since Mom died… I guess I'll just be honest

"What's wrong? Something is off with you." I said

"It's nothing my son… The mercenaries have attacked this beautiful kingdom."

"You and me both know mere mercenaries can't do this kind of damage. Who are they dad?"

"They are a mere ragtag group of mercenaries… but what really makes them deadly is their leader, Taichou."

"Taichou? Is he really that deadly? Surely you can't mean to tell me one person is able to get across our walls and invade the kingdom in just a few minutes?"

"It's exactly what it looks like. That's what great leadership can do in this world. Whether it be 1000 to 3000. If you know what you're doing then you can get victory… Or maybe this kingdom, this city, was too weak that he had to use minimum tactics against us. Either way you look at it he just may win if we're not careful from this point onwards."

Is that really how leadership works?

"Then why are they here? Do you know anything sir king? Or do you have any idea at all as to why?", Flare said

"There could be one possibility."

"Really did? If so then go on and say it"

"I've been providing slaves to the black market... "

"Huh? Really? Slaves? Why slaves?"

"Slaves help doing the heavy lifting. Surely you understand. To do so we can make lot's of things given the right species."

"That's absurd father! You're taking away their freedom! Is that why you never let me or Alice away from the castle and into the city? To hide the slaves?'

"Sadly that is indeed why."

"I see father… well, c'mon Flare."

Flare replied with "W-where are we going Prince?"

"To find our sisters and get out of here."

Honestly I wanna ask him more questions, but I'm holding up his time, we're basically in the middle of a 'war' right now so it'd be best to just leave it at that. Hopefully I'll see him again and ask him everything.

We walked out of the room, before that however I took one More look at father before running to the stairs.

"was it alright for you to just say goodbye to your father like that?" Flare asked

"I'm sure, he can do everything just fine. We just need to think about escaping from here"

I feel relaxed somehow. Is that normal? However you look at it my heart should be pumping, but even after getting mad I slowly became calm after leaving the room. Perhaps it's because of that power she granted me, I'll have to think about that later. For now I should find Alice, hopefully Marcella is with her.

Alice's POV-

On the 2nd floor

I could hear explosions from all around outside the castle. It feels as if the battle is reaching closer and closer in proximity to us. Just what is going on out there?

'Who are these attackers?'

They must've gone through great lengths to get here, but I am curious on one thing. Why didn't we receive word sooner. Perhaps our information has been messed with, but that's impossible right?

Even though it bugs me to no end, I can't worry about it while I'm trying to survive. I need to find brother and Flare. Maybe we could use the tunnel, King Boumen told us to go to just in case something like this were to happen. I believe it's on the first floor, but I could be mistaken, atleast it's somewhere we can go to escape.

"Marci, remember the tunnel that's on the first floor? we'll wait for brother there."

"I was thinking the same, princess."

Nodding her head in agreement, Marci went ahead of me to keep me to probably keep me safe.

We had jogged in haste for some time. One thing I have noticed is that the battle is steadily increasing by the minute. I wonder what's going on out there? The more lower we go the closer I hear the noise of fighting approaching.

Sometimes I wonder if I should've said nicer things to Boumen. From the looks of it this Palace could very well be destroyed if the chaos continued, I don't want that. I love this place, even though it's brought me much pain with the bullying of the other maid's. But thinking back to it, it wasn't too terrible. This place has brought me many fond memories with the sister maids, and Brother Youm. Whoever these intruders I just hope they go away…

"Princess, please stay focused."

I got lost in my thoughts there for a minute. She's right, I have to stay focused, we have to escape from this crisis.

We stepped down from the concrete stairs, from there could be heard some sounds of people swinging their swords. The swords made sounds like *clang* and *clash!!*. There was so many sounds from the fighting It was making me dizzy.

"They've made it this far already? This isn't good, Princess, just follow my lead."

I nodded to what she said, Marci lended me her hand. I held it close so I wouldn't fall behind. I went and followed her as we went around the skirmish of the enemy soldiers and allied one's. The 2 forces were too busy with fighting eachother to notice our presence. We hastely while crouched went toward the hallway, but right as soon as we were almost there I felt something cling to my leg. When I looked below me there was a half dead corpse behind me. It glared at my eyes. it's eyes were very desperate like nothing I've seen before, it really didn't wanna die. It then said to me with a shaky quiet voice.

"I... I don't wanna die... P-Please save me..."

I almost screamed, but I convered my mouth so I didn't. 'This is too much for me. Any minute now and I might just hurl' Marcella tuckered my dress pulling it to get my attention.

"Focus, Princess.", she whispered.

She's right. I need to get over this gruesome sight, I'm a princess after all…

The corpse died finally and let go of my leg from it's grasp. Now that we were farther away, we ran in the hallway.

"Over here princess!"

We made a turn to a spacious room. Marci moved a bookshelf after she gathered some Exotere in her hands 'I guess it can be used in that way as well'. A big tunnel to the outside was finally in our grasp.

"You go first, Princess."

"Yea, okay…"

We were able to finally escape this castle. After I was deep enough in the tunnel Marci was able to put the bookshelf back in it's place from inside like shutting a door.

It was very dark, but Marci was able to extract some light using a ball of light Exotere.

After awhile we were able to see the end of the tunnel. We walked until we were on the outskirts of the castle, making it outside.

End of Alice's POV

It was a massacre for the soldiers of Lavosh, they hadn't ever faced skills like this. The commanders and leader marched to the castle whilst looking around at the mostly destroyed kingdom.

Though the soldiers had numbers, they still couldn't handle the mercenaries group. They were more skillful than the Lavosh kingdom.

The numbers were 100:250 with the mercenaries having 100 people to attack the kingdom, while the Lavosh allies had 250 trained soldiers and 500 civilians. However, the soldier's of Lavosh went from 250 to a mere 50 soldiers. Not only that but they also had to take care of getting the citizens out of the kingdom. It already seemed like a losing battle from the getgo.

In the streets of Lavosh there could be seen the 4 generals, and Taichou walking down the streets. The streets were tattered with multiple sightings of corpses. The houses were burned down due to the fire attack leaving only the castle the only building not burning down.

"Such a disappointing sight…" Taichou muttered to himself as he got off his horse.

"Wow, they're done already?", said the girl with short hair.

"I know right, so much for the great kingdom of Lavosh... Hey, Boss are you sure we're at the right place?"

"Don't play koi with me Koko, you know just as well as I do that this is the place."

The two female mercenaries talked ill toward the Kingdom not impressed by how the battle went about however, Taichou didn't do that, he almost looked saddened by how it turned out, but his fellow mercs didn't notice that.

"Well then, let's go you four!", their leader with his loud shout motivated the mercenary generals. They followed their captain in haste toward the castle where a showdown will commence.

[All four in sync] "Right!"

In the upper part of the castle was Boumen, he looked out of the window from inside his department, there he stared at the mercenaries that were heading toward the castle.

"So, it has to be like this Taichou…" the lonesome Boumen seemed in distraught. He looked out of the window in order to confirm if his suspicions were correct, and they were.

Taichou could sense Boumen's gaze. He locked eyes with Boumen, They both could tell what the other was thinking, but shortly after, Taichou fired from his finger tips what seemed to be a beam of concentrated exoteric energy, because he was farther away, Boumen was able to react faster allowing him to dodge, but just barely. It blew through the window and pierced through the ceiling making Boumen prospire as he dodged the condensed energy.

"Such accuracy… I might've died if i had been hit by that. Taichou... Do you really plan on killing me?"

Using the wall as cover he tried to stare back at taichou through the window. Taichou stared back elusively. Though they were far away from eachother, somehow they were able to sense eachothers intentions and feelings with just a glare.

Taichou went back to walking forward with his allies, they looked confused as to why he did that, but they payed no mind to his intentions.

Boumen turned away from the window and grabbed his fur coat with the symbol of an eagle on the back of his cape. His signature axe 'Aelsborne' had a modified handle suitable for Boumen himself and a sharp edge that could cut in half an elephants foot. He walked out of the office in pursuit of Taichou
