Chapter 2

I was awakened because of the driver's voice. He told me that we already arrived at the place. I get off of the cab and get my things one by one. After that, the cab already leave. The mansion was really big. I'm so amazed by it's unique structure and even it's already old, I can still see it's splendid appearance.

I press the doorbell but no one comes to open the gate that's why I used the key that Mr. Cha gave me. I brought my things with me and I was about to open the big door of the mansion when my phone rung. This is bad, it's Seo Joon... my bestfriend! I forgot to tell him that I will leave Busan today. I slowly put the phone in my ear.

"Yah! Why didn't you tell me that you will leave today!? Am I really your bestfriend? I didn't have the chance to say goodbye on you." He said irritably. I know it's going to be like this

but I'm happy to have him as my bestfriend.

"Yah... it's not like I'm going abroad. I'm just here in Seoul haha!" I laughed.

"Aishh you crazy... If I can hit you right now, I already did. It's just, take care of yourself there. I will visit you if I have a chance. Ok!?"

"Fine...fine. Ahm Seo Joon I have a favor to ask. Can you look after my Mom? I'm worried about her. It's just, visit her sometimes. Is it okay?" I asked gently.

"Of course! Even you didn't tell me, I would still do that. Don't worry... Auntie Kang is already like my second mother." I was relieved on what he said.

"Thanks Seo Joon. I gotta go. Take care of your self too."

"Mmm...alright...bye."

"Bye." Then he hung up.

After I opened the door, there are different strange auras I feel in the mansion and there is one dominating them but no one is there. It's so strong that it gives me a goosebumps.

If you're asking me if I'm only one here in the mansion, my answer is no. Mr. Cha said that there are a few people guarding this mansion.

I wonder where they are because I can't see them around. Maybe they go out or probably in their rooms? I also have a companion that will help me to take care of the mansion but he will arrive after a few weeks. Mr. Cha said that my companion still have personal matter to take care that's why he will be late.

"Hello? Is there anybody there?" I asked loudly for them to hear and noticed that I arrived.

"Hello?" I repeated. But no one is answering me.

I continued to walk inside the mansion and it's so silent. There's nothing to afraid at because even the mansion is old, it feels lively in the inside. There are different paintings hanging in the wall, different kinds of modern furnitures, and also chandeliers. There are also a long stairs that leads in the second floor. I go upstairs and it takes time until I finally found the room where I'm staying at. I opened the door of my room and I was really amazed by it's bigness. All the furnitures are new and my bed was a king size bed.

I put my things inside the room and decided to arrange it later. I want to look first in the whole mansion so I can get familiar with it easily. I enjoy going around in the mansion. I already know where is the kitchen, dining area, living room, guest rooms, and the room underground. There are so many rooms inside this mansion. I wonder why the other applicants that took this job didn't stay for long. A big picture frame caught my attention that's why I come close on it. I stared on it for a while but I can't get the message of the painting.

"Hi!" I heard a cheerful voice of someone at my back.

I turned around and saw a lady. She's so pretty and... wait...what? A lady? Why there is a lady here? She looks young. I think she's in her twenty-three or twenty-four. Her aura is strong. Is it one of the aura I feel before?

"H-hello?" I replied confusedly.

"Are you the new care taker of this mansion?" She asked. How did she know?

"Ahm yes, I'm Kang Eun Woo and it's my first day here... and you are?"

"I'm Park Lee Mijin... you can call me Mijin. I'm one of the guardians of this mansion and also the cook." She actively introduce herself. She what!? Guardian!? Cook!? But she's so young!

"But you looks young. I thought the guardians of this mansion are in their 40's or 50's. I can't believe that you're one of the guardians here." I said and she suddenly chuckles.

"Ahm I think you wouldn't even believe how old I am now. You can't even imagine it. By the way let's not talk about age. I thought Mr.Cha would pick an older care taker but it seems he trusted you a lot." I was confused by the things that she said.

"What do you mean? Am I not suitable for this job? Don't worry, even I am young, I know all the housework and I am very hard working." I said confidently.

"No... no... that's not what I mean. Forget what I've said. It's just, I'm wondering what Mr. Cha sees on you. It's so interesting. It's looks like you really have no idea on the job you're working." She look at me worriedly and that's make me confused. She suddenly touched me on my arm.

"Ahh!" She shouted in pain and removed it fastly. I was also surprised in her behavior.

"W-why? What's wrong? What happened!?" I asked in panicked. It's like she touched a hot metal when she touched me. She looks surprised.

"N-nothing. I was just surprised how hot you are." Hot? Am I sick? Do I have a fever? But I'm completely fine so... what's wrong?

"But I don't have a fever." She's weird. I don't feel hot at all.

"Ohh... I'm sorry... maybe I was just exaggerating haha. I think I know why Mr.Cha picked you." She laughed forcefully. I just ignored what she said and asked her a question.

"Hey Mijin, where are the other guards of this mansion? Are they on the outside? How many of you are here?" I asked continuously.

"Nope. We are not allowed to leave this mansion and even we want to leave... we can't go out with our own."

"Huh? Is that even possible? I can't understand you." I said with a confused look.

"You will understand it soon if you will stay here for a longer time. I'm sure Mr. Cha mentioned on you that there are no applicants stayed here for a longer time. I do really hope that you can stay here. We need you! Specially him."

"Him? Who?"

"You will know it soon. Come for the dinner later. I will introduce you the other guardians of this mansion." She's really a weird one. From what she said, it makes me curious that I want to know something badly.

"O-okay." That's all I can say. She's about to leave when she suddenly stopped.

"One more thing. Don't go around too much in night. You can be in danger because you don't have yet an owner. If you hear something or saw something, it's better to ignore it." She said seriously.

I was stunned from what I've heard. Why I feel like I was not safe here. I will just take care of this mansion...that's all...right? Then why they keep threatening me. People these days are weird. I went back to my room and started to unpack my belongings. Wait a minute. I suddenly realized that this mansion doesn't have a ghost. I'm glad that I didn't saw or encounter some of them. This means, I can finally have time not to see them for a while.

After I settle my belongings, I lay-down in my bed. It's a long trip after all and my body feels tired. I guess I will take a nap again. I will come down later for the dinner. I'm excited to meet the other people in this house. My chest suddenly ache. Aghh... what's happening to me!? It's feels like my chest is burning. I grip my chest hardly and I can't breathe properly.

I took off my shirt and quickly went to the mirror. My brown birthmark is turning into color red...red as blood. I don't know what's happening but please somebody... somebody help me! My vision became blurry and my body lean against the wall. My door suddenly opens and a figure of man enter on it. Before I can see his face clearly... everything went black.
