Chapter 15 - Terrible Discovery

Riven pov's on

I lay on Syndra's bed while she did her morning hygiene, I stared at the ceiling as misplaced thoughts filled my head. I needed to have a little serious conversation with my friend.

Syndra came out of her bathroom wearing an outfit that I had given her as a gift when I went back to Piltover, there was a wide variety of clothes, many nations sold this kind of merchandise there, and at an incredible price! Piltover was the center of progress, The Great City of Progress! The beautiful iron city was the center of great research and technological advances in the hextech area, thus producing a large mass of electrical and steam products that made life easier for everyone. And of course, with a little help fence from Zaun they managed all of this, even if they didn't publicly admit

Syndra had only her armor, a few party kimonos for special occasions, and a few dresses, mostly white. I had bought her the gardener's clothes, as every time, she almost died to wash her dirty clothes from work in the garden. On this particular day, she was wearing beige shorts and a black tank top, it wasn't overdone, but it was a very comfortable outfit.

She walked slowly to a chest she used to drop her dirty clothes and threw them inside.

I sat cross-legged on the bed as I lifted my arms up to stretch.

-Tell me what's going on Riven, you look pretty restless this morning. -She said in a calm tone, she was certainly smiling while she was moving some things from her dressing table.

I was more and more surprised by her sharp perception, even more towards me, it was as if she knew everything I thought.

-Did you notice then? -I was embarrassed and scratched my head to hide it.

-You can ask Riven. I know you want to ask something. -She gave a light laugh as she turned to me.

-You like... um... Zed, right? -I asked her suspiciously.

-If it's in the friendly sense, yes, I like it. And if it's in the love sense, maybe! - She made a calm and serene face, which made me feel more comfortable.

-Do you know what it's like to fall in love? Like, really. And well, can you tell me how it is?-I looked curious.

-Well, I don't really know how to explain what it's like to fall in love... -She sat on the edge of the bed. -If it was about being in love with a loved one, I would say that I've always been in love with my master, since she took care of me and taught me everything I know, from speaking properly and handling my skills better. But if it's about sexual love, I say that I may be learning to fall in love.

My eyes lit up when she told me that.

-You asked me that because you are having feelings for the swordsman, right? -She looked at me with a sincere smile.

I was kind of embarrassed to hear that question.

-Let's say yes. I stared at my hands as I wiggled my fingers. -You know Syn, I never really fell in love or at least I don't remember falling in love. I ended up living most of my childhood on the street together with Talon, stealing things in order to survive in that misery that was the periphery and the only love I have for Talon is fraternal, as if he were my little brother. -I smiled as I remembered the pranks we used to do on the street. -Despite the difficulties, we had a lot of fun there, and after all, when we joined the army and he was adopted by the Du Couteau, I focused only on training, training and training, I wanted to be the best one, you know... - I sighed. - And I even participated in that suicide squad they created. That damn Elite Crimson! But apart from that, I hit the jackpot by winning a squad of my own, which by the way were the best years of the Noxus army. -I smiled when I remembered that bunch of crazy people. -But in all that time, I've never been able to fall in love. -I made a funny face because Syndra laughed. -Sure, I've tried going to bed with some guys and everything, but nothing else! And I really want to find out what it's like to fall in love, and I really wanted it to be Yasuo that I discovered those feelings!

-You look like a child talking like that Riven! Syndra smiled. -Who knew you would be like that one day!

I didn't hold back the smile.

-I think I'll finally get over my losses Syn! -I gave a sincere smile. -I think I'm ready to mature for real. - I looked to the side and took a deep breath. -As much as I like to fight, bugger, be childish, quarrelsome and much more, I really want to build a life outside the battlefield. No, I don't say that because I dreamed of Yasuo or something! I shook my hands and Syndra laughed at that. - I just started thinking about this possibility during the trips, you know... Imagine what a wonderful thing! If you are in a war and it ends up with you coming out victorious, or even coming back from a trip, then you will arrive at your house and be welcomed by whatever, your husband, children, or even your dog! You will come home knowing that you have a life that has been missing you and that you are extremely happy to see you. -I had a slight smile on my face. -As much as I love to fight, I think it's time to think a little about my future, you know, ignore the battles of the present and think a little ahead. Because I don't want to be alone until I die. I want whatever, a love to share everything.

-What you said was beautiful Riven. And I admire that you made such a decision, and I believe you will be very happy from your choice. Syndra approached me and sat across from me. - I want you to know that even if you do not have a husband, children and even a dog, I want to say that I will be happy to know that you returned victorious from a battle or returned safe from a journey. Even if you come back crippled from battle, as long as you're alive, the rest is nothing! -She took my hands. - And if it's up to me, you'll never be alone!

-Thanks for everything Syndra! - I smiled at her and then fired. -Did you notice that lately our conversations don't make any sense? - I stared at her.

Syndra chuckled and said.

-Of course! They don't make any sense as much as our lives! - She winked at me and I laughed. - But to close the matter for now, I just want to say that you will know when you are in love with him, your heart will say that. -Syndra put her finger on my chest when she said that.

-And I sincerely hope you're pretty much in love with Zed, and he's with you. WHY I WANT NEPHEW SYNDRA!- I looked at her and yelled as she grabbed a pillow and started spanking me.

-I HATE YOU RIVEN! -She screamed as she punched the pillow in my face stifling my laughter.

Syndra was a sister to me, along with Talon. And if it were up to me, I would do anything to protect them and keep them close to me.

Yasuo and I were in the kitchen finishing our coffee and talking a few things until I asked him.

-Do you always drink that way or is it just once in a while? I raised an eyebrow when I asked.

"When there's plenty of drinks, I drink even more than that." He spoke as he rested his head on his hand.

-I'll make you something sweet to see if this hangover improves. -I spoke while letting out a heavy sigh. -We have a lot to talk about today, and I don't want you with that ass face talking to me. -I looked at him and got up from the table.

-Give it preference to do something in silence. -He said while squeezing his head with a cloth.

-Would you like anything else, Madame? - I asked in a mocking tone.

-That phrase is my Zed! -He spoke a little louder and already put his hand on his head again.

-I think you'd better be quiet, babe. Or you won't be able to take the pain later. -I spoke as I headed to the counter.

-Cry more Zed! He had three glasses and was already talking about some things, nothing to do.- He gave a slight smile when he said that.

-And you were saying everything perfectly fine. It is not? Stallion.

-We completed each other last night, you beautiful! -Yasuo sent you a kiss.

-For the love... - I turned my back and went to prepare something for him. - I think you better improve this hangover, or we'll have to go back to the old days to resolve.

-Our! How brave you are, Zed!" He twisted one side of his mouth and made a funny face.

-Be quiet there. -I told him.

I went to look for something in the closets. I thought about making him some very sweet tea, to see if it would give him a little improvement. . I went to the stove and put some wood and lit it, put water in the kettle and took a mixture of herbs that I had in a pot. I waited for water to boil and put the tea and plenty of sugar in the container and took it to him.

-Take that. And when you get a little better, meet me in the garden, I'll be waiting for you there. -I handed over the tea and said as I walked to the door.

-Thanks Zed. -He told me in a low tone.

-No need to thank.

I left the kitchen and walked to the garden.

I went downstairs and soon began to observe the flowers and trees scattered around the garden. They made the castle landscape even more beautiful. I looked for the shade of a tree and sat down there. I could feel the light breeze hit my face and the fresh air invade my lungs. This was certainly the ideal place to meditate.

And so I did.

I concentrated and got into a meditation position. I took a deep breath and then sank into the vast inner peace.

Zed pov's of Syndra pov's on

After much talking with Riven, fighting, playing. We both lay on the bed staring at the ceiling until Riven spoke.

-Are you going to play in the garden today? -She asked me while looking at the ceiling.

-Yes I will, do you want to go along?- I replied while I also stared at the ceiling.

- I thought I was going to be with Zed today. And by the way, I do want to go! -She spoke cheerfully. -I want to try to be calm for a day. Stirring with clay seems like an interesting proposition for today.

-I'm not staying with Zed for now. I think he and Yasuo have a lot to talk about.- He said calmly

-I agree with it. I hope their conversation goes well. -She said sweet. "You have some of my clothes around here, don't you?" She looked at me.

-I probably have something.- I got up from the bed and went to search the trunk.

I rummaged through some things and threw some clothes on the bed.

-I have some of your stuff here. What do you want?

-Now all makes sense! I had noticed that some things were missing from the bag. -She crawled on the bed to go through the clothes. -Do you have a set there? I want to take a shower later.

-There must be something in the middle. Take your shower after we get back from the garden, or you're going to shower for nothing. -I said as I walked away from the trunk.

-It's ok. -She moved some pieces and then said. -I'll wear this dress. I didn't even remember having him. -She said suspiciously as she took the dress. -Too bad he's white, and I'm going to die rubbing it.

-Truth! But soon we'll take care of it. I'm used to it now. Now go get changed, I'll go to the kitchen and get something to eat. I'll meet you downstairs. -He said as he headed toward the door. -Want something to eat? -I spoke as he put his face in the doorway.

-Not worth! I already had coffee with Zed.

-Did you fall out of bed? For you to have woken up with him, this can only have happened. - I laughed at the face she made.

-I woke up because I wanted to go to the bathroom. Afterwards I couldn't sleep anymore. -She said as she started to remove her clothes.

-Way! You could be pissing yourself all over, but you would never get up this early. -I laughed and she looked at me sullenly. He kicked you out of the room did he?

-Yes... -She said sly.

I laughed out loud.

-Shit huh! -Leave the room laughing.

-GO TO SHIT! -She yelled as I closed the door.

I left the room and bounded down the hall to the kitchen. I quickly went there, as I was starving! I was also looking forward to seeing Zed, I was hoping he was there. I walked into the kitchen door and put my hand over my mouth to stifle my light laughter. I saw Yasuo lying with his face on the table, he looked too tired to sleep like that. Poor thing, he must have slept very badly and woke up with a heavy hangover. I went to the fruit basket I had on the counter and grabbed an apple to eat.

He leaves the kitchen with the apple in his mouth. It didn't take long for Riven to appear in the room.

-Take my hat from that table and let's go to the street. - I motioned with my hands where the hat was.

-Why are you talking low? -She replied softly as she took the hat.

-Yasuo is sleeping in the kitchen.

-Serious? Let me see! -Riven was running to the kitchen and I pulled her with willpower (w) and dragged her to the street, meanwhile she made a pout with her lips.

-Keep silent, okay? - I spoke softly again.

-What it was? Is Zed sleeping on the street too? -She looked at me with half-closed eyes.

I pinched it and said.

- He's meditating Riven.

-Minutes. -She gave a light laugh.-There's your hat! She reached out and handed me the hat.

-Thanks!

We stayed side by side and she and I were transported by spheres to the second island.

-You leave this place full of life Syn! This bed of yours is a real work of art! -Riven always praised the garden, she loved to watch what I did when she came with me to the garden.

-Thanks Riv! -Smile. – This garden is my pride. -I said while looking at my flowers.

Riven walked towards the edge of the island, she loved sitting there. And I went towards the little tool house she had helped me build.

I got some tools and went back to my flower beds.

-Come Riven! -I screamed.

-I'M GOING! – She said as she balanced herself on the edge of the island.

Riven came running towards me with two small bags in his hand.

-LOOK SYN! I FOUND MY MONEY!- She said as she showed me the bags of money.

-What money Riven? -I raised an eyebrow when I said that.

-My money! I got it yesterday at the tournament and ended up forgetting here when we left! -She smiled and hugged the bags of money. -I knew I was forgetting something.

-Who forgets money? – I said incredulously.

-Me? -She replied with arched eyebrows.

We exchanged funny looks and started to laugh.

-Drop your stuff there. Let's get the job done! -I said smiling while rubbing my hands.

-Yes ma'am! -Riven saluted and ran to the little house to drop his money.

I started to teach Riven how to do the work on the land, she seemed to be really enjoying it as she paid a lot of attention to the explanations I gave. After taking care of and moving the land, we remove the weeds and plow a part of a new bed.

I showed her my beds of tea, flowers, vegetables and greens. Everything I needed came from the lands of my islands. And after working hard, we finally decided to gather some fruit from my orchard to make jams and jams in the evening.

-This is a true Syn paradise! -She said while carrying a basket with herbs and teas. -I loved doing this, it's so relaxing and good to move the earth! -She smiled a lot when she said that. -As much as I'm a little tired, this is wonderful!

-Glad you like! I will be extremely happy if you come back here again to help me! -I gave a wide smile when answering. -Now get two more baskets to put the peaches and apples! -I said while pointing to the baskets that were on the floor.

-This is all amazing! Look at this orchard! The fruit smells delicious. I could live down here forever. -She said excited as she brought me the baskets.

I felt certain vibrations coming from the palace island. I concentrated to see what was happening and heard screams and cries.

-WHY DID YOU KILL YASUO? BECAUSE? HE WAS HIS BROTHER! -Zed screamed in the middle of a desperate cry.

My body froze.

What was happening?

My body wobbled from the stairs where I was gathering fruit. In a quick move, Riven dropped the baskets to the ground and came quickly to help me.

-Is everything okay Syn? -She said worried as I went down the stairs.

-I HAD NO CHOICE ZED! IT WAS HIM OR ME! I HAD TO DO IT! -Yasuo responded crying back. Zed looked uncontrollable. You could hear her screams of pure rage along with Yasuo's speeches.

That fight looked really serious. My concern only increased because of that. What was going on with those two?

I took a deep breath and concentrated on answering my friend.

-Everything is fine. -Said as I put my hand under his forehead. -I just had a bad feeling, and I also remembered that I need to get something at the palace. Can you finish picking the fruit for me? -I said, trying not to show my fear and concern.

-Of course. Drink some water and eat something. It's ok? I'll do everything here, don't worry! -She said with a sweet smile.

-I won't be long. Promise! -I spoke while my spheres were already transporting me to the castle.

Upon arriving there, I was horrified by the scene in front of me. Zed was on top of Yasuo, his hand bloodied and his face cut. Yasuo held him by one hand and tried to dodge some of the deadly punches Zed was throwing at him. Yasuo had his face completely cut and bloodied. His hand shook as he tried to grip Zed's mighty fist.

I went as fast as possible to them. I used my spheres to transport myself in front of Zed and used my scatter the weak (e) to hurl the ninja away from Yasuo.

Then I went to Yasuo and called him.

-YASUO! ARE YOU ALRIGHT? ANSWER ME! -I spoke while holding his neck. He was very bad.

Yasuo coughed up some blood and tried to catch his breath. He had several ugly marks on his face, his nose and mouth were bleeding a lot.

-DO NOT HELP SYNDRA! GET AWAY FROM HIM! THAT BUNGER KILLED YONE!-Zed yelled in an angry voice as he wiped the blood that dripped from his mouth.

-SHUT UP ZED! YOU DIDN'T LISTEN ANY HALF OF WHAT I HAD TO SAY!-Yasuo yelled as he tried to lift his head that was resting on my lap.

-I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING MORE FROM YOU! WHAT KIND OF PERSON KILLS HIS OWN BROTHER? -Zed spat on the floor after finishing saying that.

My eyes glazed over at Yasuo after hearing that. Did he kill his own brother?

–YOU ARE A YASUO MONSTER! -Tears ran down the ninja's face.

I've never seen Zed like that.

- SEE IF YOU HEAR ME! YOU FUCKED ASS! -Yasuo tried to get up a little more while shouting those words.

Zed glared at him, then strode toward us.

I lowered my face and created seven spheres that protected me and Yasuo.

-SHUT UP YOUR DAMN MOUTH! I WILL HEAR EACH OF THE BOTH AND I WILL GIVE THE VERDICT! UNTIL THEN ZED WILL GO TO MY ROOM AND I WILL CARE FOR YASUO'S INJURIES!

- DON'T MAKE MISTAKE SYNDRA! I DON'T WANT YOU CLOSE TO THIS TRAITOR! -Zed yelled.

-I SAID SHUT UP ZED! I STAY CLOSE TO WHOM I WELL UNDERSTAND! THAT'S SOMETHING IT DOESN'T TELL YOU ABOUT. -I replied. Dry. -Go now to the bedroom. -I spoke seriously while helping Yasuo to sit.

-YOU DON'T RUN ME, SYNDRA! -He replied incredulously.

-AND YOU ARE ON MY ISLAND, IN MY HOUSE AND WHO RULES HERE IS ME! IF YOU DON'T OBEY ME, THE BALLS WILL DO A BIG DAMAGE TO YOUR FACE. -I yelled angrily.

The spheres I had created were spinning around me and Yasuo, they gave off various electrical discharges, thus showing that my behavior was altered.

Zed turned his face away and stamped his foot inside the palace. I knew everyone was upset, but I didn't know how to react to that. I looked at Yasuo and he had finally managed to sit up.

-O-Thanks Syndra. -Yasuo spoke in a low tone. Trying to normalize your breathing.

-Don't thank me yet. First I want to know what happened. -I scolded with my sovereign tone of voice. -But first let's clean your wounds. Your face is deplorable. -I got up and helped Yasuo up. I put my arm around my neck and held his body around the waist.

I pulled Yasuo out of the palace grass and began carrying him up the entrance stairs. Zed must have spanked him too hard that he couldn't stand up.

I took him to a room that used to be called the infirmary in the castle, there should have been some sashes and other junk used by the monks that could be used for something. I dragged him to the bed with difficulty and after fixing him there, I looked for some cloths and gases to clean his bruises. I searched the large closets in the living room and grabbed a metal basin, went to the sink in the room, and filled it with water.

I took everything I needed and cleaned his wounds carefully, he had several bruises and reddish marks, he had some cuts on his face and his nose was still bleeding a lot. It didn't take me long to clean it, Yasuo was in pain at times, but he didn't say a word of complaint in the meantime.

-Can I see your memories or do you prefer to tell me what happened? -I looked at him seriously. Finally breaking that torturous silence.

-Do what's best. He looked to the side and lowered his head.

-Excuse me. - I sat down beside him and held his face in my hands.

Concentrating and taking a deep breath, I began to see his happy memories from when he was little. I saw the loss of your father and then your memories went into your adolescence. I saw every memory of him, even the ones he shouldn't remember anymore.

Until I saw memories that scared me and I woke up from the trance.

I was breathless and dizzy. I saw things that I didn't think were possible, I didn't know how to react to that.

My eyes started to water.

-Is everything all right, Sovereign? -He said worried.

I put my hand over my head and gave me long blinks until I replied.

-I've seen everything Yasuo... By the gods. -I breathed hard as the tears began to run down my cheeks. -You need to tell Riven about your past. You need to do this, Yasuo. -I held his face and stared at him. -Please, Yasuo. -I said. In tears.

-Tell what? Why?-He looked at me nervously.

-You need to tell her Yasuo! You need. I gripped her scarf tightly, and crumbled into her awkward embrace.

I cried even more as I thought about my friend's pain when she heard about it.

Now that things were working out, Riven.
