CHAPTER FIFTY

He heard the sound of the engine yet again. She's back, he thought. He was almost about to call her.

His face was filled with smiles as he thought of having her around. He deliberately strode down the stairs, pretending like he wanted to get water for himself. He wanted to see her angelic face.

When he got downstairs, he saw Desi, seated on the couch, while cuddling a white animal. He paused on his strides, what was this? She was cuddling that animal like it was the love of her life.

He was still in a delusional state when he saw a dog he seemed quite familiar with. He sought for a way to draw Desi's attention to himself. At first he cleared his throat so loudly that anyone would have heard it, but Desi didn't move an inch from the posture she was in.

He saw that it didn't work. He walked to the refrigerator picked up a bottle milk, he rattled with it for a long time before slamming the fridge. He waited to hear Desi's voice from the background, probably asking what was wrong with him but Desi didn't even blink.

He decided to confront her head on. He tried to wear the nicest smile he had ever worn and walked towards her.

"Hey, where did you go off to, and where did you get these from?" He said pointing at dog Daphne and Whitey. Sensing the animosity from Michael, dog Daphne jumped up and gritted it's teeth at Michael. Michael looked at the dog in ridicule. What was the damn dog thinking? That he, Michael Kingston, was scared of it? It must have lost its senses at the asylum it came from. He brushed the dog aside and sat very close to Desi on the couch.

"You didn't tell me you wanted a dog, I'd have gotten one for you." He said but the reaction he got from her shocked him. Desi threw her head on his chest and said.

"I abandoned them, how did I forget?"

Micheal looked at her and saw that she was in regrets, he decided to play the role of the good husband and cuddled her together with Whitey that was already on Desi's body.

Seeing their posture together dog Daphne felt left out and quickly went closer to Desi. He snuggled closer to her.

"We will both give them a morning walk every day." Desi heard Michael say, and out of happiness and surprise, she brought Michael's face closer to her and gave him a steady kiss on the lips. Ten seconds later she got herself and withdrew herself immediately. The atmosphere became awkward because Michael still couldn't believe that Desi kissed him voluntarily. Desi couldn't believe she just kissed Michael. Dog Daphne and Whitey was looking at them as if they were seeing something so foreign. Desi jumped down from the couch, dumped Whitey on Michael's body and ran out of the living room.

Michael chuckled quietly to himself and caressed Whitey's furs.

"I'm beginning to like this owner of yours, he said to the dog"

Daphne drove straight to the Castillo's mansion. She really had to see Limuel. She had a lot to ask him, she had alot to talk to him about. When she got to house the servants greeted her with polite smiles. They knew that she was their future madam and they heard that the young master loved her so much and for that reason none of them wanted to get on her bad side.

Daphne climbed the stairs and walked straight to Limuels room. Not forgetting her manners, she knocked on the door. In her mind, she was busy rehearsing her speech with him when he opened the door.

Daphne was slightly taken a back by the look on his face when he opened the door. His Harry Potter glasses hung on his nose line, his eyes were a little bit red and swollen indicating that he had been studying for quite a long time or he slept off while reading.

After setting his eyes on Daphne's innocent face, his once squeezed face loosened up in a smile.

"Honey! I never knew you were coming"

As soon as Daphne heard this, she began to set her plan into motion.

She stepped inside the room without a smile. Limuel noticed the quick change in her mood and knew that something was wrong. Daphne didn't want to directly tell Limuel to go for a manhood test as that would be an insult to the great Castillo family, who were well known for their pride and their high value for legitimacy.

She thought for a way and then she figured it out.

"Darling, you haven't been escorting me for my body check ups, what if I get injured by a syringe or what if I vomit from the constant nauseating smell from the hospital?" She squeezed her face even further.

"Do you not love me anymore?" she asked with red eyes gazing intently at him.

Moved by this Limuel gave her a very warm and tight hug, "we can go together next time"

As soon as he said this Daphne's face brightened up, at least that was the first step, it wasn't so difficult afterall.
