CHAPTER 745: Seventeen Fangs

Han Shuo was still worried even after the Cauldron sank into the lake. He soon received a message from the Cauldron Spirit, "Don't worry, Master. I'm fine!"

Han Shuo finally felt at ease after hearing this reassurance from Cauldron Spirit.

Through the connection he had with Cauldron Spirit, Han Shuo was able to get a clear view of the situation underneath the dangerous pool. It took the Cauldron a moment to sink straight to the bottom of the lake.

They discovered a dozen or more speckles shimmering with soft and dark radiance at the bottom of the lake. After manoeuvring around the bottom of the lake for a moment, the Cauldron Spirit came to the nearest dark speck.

It was a long, pointed and shiny dark object, over a metre long, sitting still on the bottom of the lake. It had a very sharp tip and appeared to be the fang of a huge magical beast. As the Cauldron Spirit approached the fang, it transmitted to Han Shuo, "Master, it seems that this fang is the reason for the intense corrosive power of the lake water. The water around the fang is much more corrosive!"

"Collect it!" ordered Han Shuo.

The Cauldron Spirit immediately began to carry out Han Shuo's command. The Cauldron swam over and sat upside down on the fang. Then a bright flash of light came from inside the Cauldron and the fang, which was over a metre long, disappeared. After that, the Cauldron swam quickly to other places glowing with faint and dark radiance, collecting more fangs.

After travelling around the bottom of the lake, there were no more dark radiances to be found. The water of the lake also seemed to have become somewhat cleaner.

"I've collected them all!" the Cauldron Spirit announced.

"Good, come back to the surface," Han Shuo instructed.

With a total of seventeen fangs, Cauldron Spirit slowly rose to the surface. The Cauldron had grown in size. It was at least ten times larger than before it had travelled down the lake.

Clang, clang...

The Cauldron turned upside down and poured out the seventeen fangs. They made crisp metallic sounds as they clanged together.

Seventeen sharp fangs appeared in front of Han Shuo. The shortest was one metre while the longest was 1.7 metres. Han Shuo drew a normal long sword and slashed at one of the fangs. Ting! The longsword immediately shattered. However, the strike did not even leave a scratch on the fang's surface!

"Wow!" Han Shuo exclaimed in surprise. He discovered that not only were the fangs extremely sharp, but they also emitted an intense cold aura. One would feel as if they were in an arctic atmosphere while standing next to these fangs.

For Han Shuo, who was insanely good at adapting to the environment, the feeling of being submerged in ice meant that these fangs must be freezing cold!

"The Seventeen Fangs are icy cold and carry a terrifying corrosive power. They can be refined into a demonic weapon!" after placing the items in front of Han Shuo and returning to his body, the Cauldron Spirit transmitted to him.

Han Shuo nodded. He had a wide, bright smile on his face as he said, "Hehe, my luck is indeed quite good. I believe many people have been interested in the peculiarity of the lake, but no one has ever dared to explore it. Besides, the divine weapons in this universe cannot usually be remotely controlled. Even if they knew that there were treasures under the lake, they could not do anything!"

"The lake is changing!" said the Cauldron Spirit.

Han Shuo placed all seventeen fangs into his space ring before turning his attention to the lake in front of him.

After the loss of the seventeen fangs, the lake was no longer filled with the cold aura. The dark and murky water also became much clearer. It seemed that those fangs were indeed the cause of the abnormality of the lake water. Han Shuo was surprised by the rapid transformation.

After a close encounter with death, Han Shuo's Avatar of Destruction had managed to break through and reached Midgodhood. In addition, his practice of the Invincible Omen Body had finally reached the second level. On top of that, he had obtained seventeen miraculous fangs that could be refined into a demonic weapon. Han Shuo could not have been better rewarded.

Han Shuo once again used his demon generals to scour the valley. He still couldn't find any Godhunters or divine guards from the three cities. Seeing that there was nothing left to do in this godhunter's valley, Han Shuo decided to return to Skyorchid Fort in the City of Shadows.

Three days after Han Shuo left, the special compounds in the cold lake that had lost its seventeen fangs began to disintegrate when exposed to the fierce sunlight. They turned into light smoke and dissipated. A few days later, the water of the lake contained no trace of the Cold Aura. It had turned into seemingly ordinary lake water. The water even seemed clean.

A group of people arrived secretly at the edge of the lake. One of them kept whistling like a bird, as if trying to call for something.

This man, who had been making high-pitched noises all day, remarked in a puzzled manner, "Where are those Godhunters? How come no one answered?"

"Yes, what a strange day. We were not intercepted by any Godhunters at all, and we just walked in here.

This is so different from the usual times!" another person remarked quietly.

"Ugh, never mind. Let's just get the stuff," another person took out a huge barrel and walked towards the lake.

"Ah!" the person screamed. He seemed extremely surprised.

"What's going on?" his teammates were startled and asked hastily.

"The water, how did the water turn into this?" the man replied, pointing to the pond in front of him. His face was filled with horror.

His companions walked towards the lake to have a look. They saw that the previously dark and cold lake water had become clean and clear. The lake added a tranquil atmosphere to the remote valley.

However, these people obviously did not enjoy the peaceful scenery at all.

They took out a small magical animal resembling a squirrel, tied it to the end of a pike and put the squirrel-like creature in contact with the water. The little creature splashed around, but showed no sign of dissolving.

"How come?!" the people were shocked. "This is bad! How will we explain this to the Master?"

"Something has happened to the Godhunters. None of them are inside!" one of their team members reported solemnly after returning from the caves.

"We can't stay here any longer. Let's get out of here before we get into trouble!" the man casually released the small creature from its spear and headed for the exit.

His companions, knowing that this Godhunter's base had been exposed, rushed to leave the area before they were discovered.

***Hushveil City. Inside one of the secret chambers of the Godswamp Pharmacy.

Hassling wore a sombre expression as he listened to a person's account in his magic mirror. After a long moment of silence, he asked, "Not a single Godhunter?"

"Yes, not even one, Master!" replied the person in the mirror.

He was one of those who had gone to draw water from the lake.

Hassling furrowed his brow and rubbed his temple with a worried hand. "But even if all the godhunters were killed, what in the world could make the lake water clear?"

"I don't know, sir. It was like that when we were there."

After a moment's silence, Hassling raised his head and ordered solemnly: "From this moment on, you are to make no contact with the Godhunters and cut off all communication with them. Erase all evidence that we have been in contact with them!"

"Understood, Master!"

After ending the video call, Hassling got up, left his pharmacy and went straight to Eugene's residence.

"I'm sorry, Mr Hassling, but His Lordship has yet to return to Hushveil City," the divine guard stationed at the front door said politely when he recognised Hassling.

"Please tell Eugene that I'll be looking for him when he returns," Hassling said to the divine guards with a smile and left.

What the hell happened? How could anything happen to this valley with the terrifying power of the Godhunter Alliance? Hassling racked his brain, but he couldn't imagine what could have happened in the valley.

He also had no idea that Han Shuo knew about his relationship with the Godhunters.

***Skyorchid Fort.

As soon as Han Shuo arrived at Skyorchid Fort, he asked the divine guard at the gate, "Are Lord Aobashi and Lord Erebus inside the fort?" Recognising Han Shuo, the divine guard shook his head and replied, "Their Lordships have not yet returned. Why aren't you with them?"

Han Shuo immediately asked, "How much time has passed since we left the fort?"

"Almost two months," the divine guard replied. He was rather puzzled as to why Han Shuo would ask such a question.

It had taken Han Shuo about a month to return to Skyorchid Fort. It had taken them twelve days to get to the valley and two to three days to scout the valley before the attack. This meant that Han Shuo had spent around fifteen days resisting and assimilating the invading energy.

Han Shuo knew from experience that as long as he had a breakthrough in his cultivation, be it demonic arts or fundamental forces, he would lose track of the passing of time. Han Shuo thought for a moment after hearing the divine guard's answer. He thought it was quite likely that Aobashi and the others were still hunting the escaped Godhunters at this very moment.

"Have their lordships sent any messages back here?" asked Han Shuo.

The divine guard shook his head.

Han Shuo sighed in his mind and entered the fort dejectedly. He went to the interim person in charge of the fort and asked to be informed of any news about Aobashi and Erebus as soon as possible. He then rest in the room Erebus had assigned him.

***Standing in front of a vast ocean, Aobashi, Erebus, Blightsoar and Eugene gazed into the distance.

Aobashi shook her head and lamented, "Even though we killed a ton of Godhunters along the way, the Three managed to escape. Can this operation even be considered a success?"

"I think we can call it a success. We have never killed such a large number of Godhunters before. We also managed to flatten their lair," Blightsoar said after taking a moment to think.

"I wonder how Bryan is. Sigh, if I had known earlier, I would have let the energy kill me," Erebus said. He looked pale and obviously not as strong as Aobashi, Blightsoar and Eugene. It seemed he needed some rest to regain his full strength.

Aobashi turned to look at Andrina, who was being carried a few steps away by a female divine guard, before she sighed, "Andrina is still in a coma, while Bryan, we don't know if he'll make it. This is not a success at all!"

"The Brovst trio escaped into the sea. It is absolutely impossible for us to find them in this region. I think now is the time for us to call it a day and go home," Eugene of Hushveil City turned to look deeply at Andrina, hesitated for a moment and said, "From your reports, it seems that the Godhunter leader recognises Andrina. She will be the key to identifying the person. If she wakes up and provides relevant information, please inform our Hushveil City."

"We shall see!" From the day Erebus learned that it was Han Shuo who had saved his life, he began to hate Eugene, who had been prejudiced against Han Shuo. Even his words had become rather rude.

Eugene, however, did not argue about it. He nodded and said in a deep voice, "Well then, farewell!"

Aobashi waved her hand and said in a lazy voice, "Farewell. Have a safe journey. "

At that moment, an intense energy fluctuation came from the sky above their heads. A blurred figure gradually appeared in the air.

It appeared to be a graceful, elegant woman. Her body was covered in a pure white robe. Her face remained blurred to the group.

The bizarre energy fluctuation enveloped the entire region in an instant. All living things within a radius of hundreds of kilometres could sense the energy and knew that they could not resist it.

Aobashi and the others were startled. They all raised their heads and looked at the figure that was appearing in the sky. Suddenly, they discovered that they had no desire to resist. They still possessed divine energy and could use it, but they did not want to. There was no thought of resistance in their hearts, and they would willingly obey any command, as if they were willing to kill themselves if the woman said so!

This feeling made them feel powerless and incredibly frightened. Their eyes were wide open as they stared at the woman with a blurred face. None of them could utter a word.

"I'm Andrina's mother. Let me take her home," a clear and melodious voice gently filled their ears. Andrina's petite form slowly floated upwards. The female Divine Guardian carrying Andrina did nothing but stare foolishly. She watched as Andrina floated higher and higher, but thought nothing of stopping her.

Under the pull of the bizarre energy, Andrina flew higher and higher. As her small body began to blur, the woman high in the sky said in a soft voice, "Please tell Bryan thank you for taking good care of Andrina.

Just as she said these words, a strange light flashed in the sky. Andrina and the woman suddenly vanished without a trace.

In an instant, the energy that had enveloped them vanished. Each of them regained their senses.

"Who is she? My divine energy was unfettered and yet I couldn't even think of using it!" exclaimed Eugene. He had never expected to be so powerless against a figure that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Aobashi grimaced and said, "Somehow I feel that woman is more terrifying than the Godhunter leader. Even though I knew I had no chance against the GodHunter's leader, I could fight him to the death. However, I couldn't even put up a fight against this woman. It felt as if I would kill myself without the slightest hesitation if she asked me to. How terrifying!"

"She said she's Andrina's mother, so I think Andrina will be fine. It's just that we'd have a hard time explaining that to Bryan," Erebus remarked.

"He's a dead man already. What is there to explain?" muttered Eugene quietly.

"Shut up!" Erebus glared at Eugene. Even Aobashi and Blightsoar looked at him with unfriendly, cold eyes. It was as if the three of them would join forces to beat him up if he said another word they didn't like. The atmosphere suddenly became cold and stale. Some of the divine guards even put a hand on their divine weapons.

Well, I must be off. Goodbye!" Eugene, knowing that his presence was unwelcome, hastily left the party. He raised his head to look at the sky and wondered, "Who is that woman in white? How is she so terrifying?

Soon after Eugene left, Blightsoar said to the two Highgods, "I have seen such queer things in this journey. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for me to return to my Mirage City," Blightsoar had seen too many things beyond his knowledge or expectation. He racked his brain to find a way to explain everything to the City Lord of Mirage City!

"See you again! And if you're in the City of Shadows, I'll buy you a drink," Erebus said with a smile. He had a good impression of Blightsoar.

"Sure!" Blightsoar replied with a laugh, before his expression quickly turned sour. He said, "If you see Bryan, give him my regards. Also, if any of you come to visit Mirage City, you will receive the warmest of hospitality from me!" Blightsoar then shook his head, sighed softly, and left with his divine guards.

"Shall we return to the valley? Bryan might still be there," Erebus asked Aobashi's opinion after Blightsoar had left.

"If Bryan is alive, he won't stay in the valley," Aobashi shot Erebus a glare and said, "Are you saying that Bryan wouldn't make it?"

Erebus ducked his head in fear and moaned, "This energy is very unusual. There was nothing I could do when it was in my body, destroying everything. Bryan's chances of survival are slim!" Although Erebus would be furious if anyone said that Han Shuo would die, deep in his heart he did not believe that Han Shuo could survive.

"Bryan was very confident when he chased us away. I think he will be fine!" Aobashi said angrily, "Even though you have known him longer than me, I have more faith in him than you do. He will be fine! I don't want him to die before I get my revenge for driving me away with his rude words!

"All right, we will not turn back," Erebus called one of his divine guards and instructed, "You go back and search the valley. If you spot any godhunters, report back immediately!" Erebus winked as he said these words.

The Divine Guardil was Erebus' confidant and easily figured out the real instruction. He nodded and replied, "Yes, my lord, I know what to do!" Find Bryan's body and bring it back? No problem.

"Go on!" Erebus said as he gestured. Then he turned to Aobashi and said, "Shall we go home now?"

"Let's go," Aobashi knew Erebus' intention, but did not expose him. She just sighed in her mind. Even if Erebus did nothing, she herself would order a group of divine guards to watch the valley. If anything happened to Han Shuo, the least they could do was bring his body back to the city.

.,....

"Welcome back, my lords!" the divine guard guarding the gate of Skyorchid Fort saluted respectfully before he grimaced and said, "Lord Bryan has been waiting for your lordships' return for more than a dozen days. Had Your Lordships not returned soon, I believe he would have gone out to look for Your Lordships!"

"Wha- What?!" Erebus exclaimed in surprise. He asked hastily, "What did you say? Say again!"

"I said welcome back, my lords!" the divine guard was startled. He had never seen Erebus behave like that. He felt very uncomfortable and wondered, did I say something wrong?

"No, not that, the next sentence!" Erebus shouted again. There were a few traces of happiness on his face.

"Lord Bryan has been waiting for Your Lordships for more than a dozen days!" the divine guard repeated. He felt nervous.

"Yes, those are the words I want to hear! Hahaha!" Erebus laughed merrily. He did not look like the usual solemn head of the Third Corps. Turning to Aobashi, he said with a broad smile, "See, I told you the boy was a lucky one. What can happen to him?"

Aobashi's mood quickly improved when she heard that Han Shuo was all right. She looked at Erebus and asked, "I wonder who it was that told his men to collect Bryan's body. Huh, did you think I didn't know?"

"Hehe," Erebus grinned. Then he patted the Divine Guard on the shoulder and said smiling, "Well done, well done!"

The Divine Guard was astonished. He stood there foolishly, not knowing what was going on. He thought, "Could it be that Lord Erebus has been noticing my hard work all this time? Ha ha! I'm going to be promoted!

Han Shuo had been waiting anxiously in Skyorchid Fort for more than ten days. Just as he was about to leave the fort to look for them, he received the news that Aobashi had returned.

Han Shuo was overjoyed. He immediately flew out of his room and made his way to the main entrance, shocking a few gods along the way.

After scanning the group, Han Shuo noticed that Andrina was missing. His heart sank immediately and his face turned dark.

Erebus and Aobashi, who were wearing cheerful expressions, met the sombre Han Shuo on their way. They were shocked to see Han Shuo's dark face. Erebus rushed over and asked worriedly, "Bryan, what's wrong? Is it your injuries?"

Han Shuo did not answer Erebus but asked Aobashi in a deep and rather grim voice, "Where is Andrina? Why have the two of you returned without her? Don't you remember what you promised me when I gave you Andrina?"

Aobashi stared blankly for a moment before coming to her senses. She replied in her sweet voice: "Don't worry, I'm sure Andrina is fine. She was picked up by her mother!"
