Who are you?
Those three simple words had scared Han Shuo to death. He had never expected that the Holy Grail in the Pope's hand could actually speak.
"Who are you?" after recovering from the shock, Han Shuo immediately sent a message. It was the same question the Holy Grail had asked him.
"You are not the master of the Grail. I can see that. In that case, are you a friend or an enemy of the Grail Master?" the consciousness within the soul remained silent for a brief moment before answering with a question instead of revealing its identity.
"An enemy!" Han Shuo hesitated for a moment before answering succinctly.
Han Shuo had no reason to lie. No matter who was inside the Holy Grail, no matter how powerful they were, Han Shuo was fully aware that he would escape unscathed. Since this consciousness was inside the Holy Grail, it was most likely imprisoned there using special methods. Therefore, Han Shuo was open in his response.
"Very good!" the consciousness within the Holy Grail bluntly exclaimed. Then, as Han Shuo listened intently, he hurriedly reported, "Just as you expected, I'm imprisoned inside this Holy Grail. Although it wasn't the current Grail Master who put me here, he was able to activate some of my abilities using the unique seal of this Grail. The space-time rifts that are currently deployed around him have been released by my energy. Right, since you are not the Master of the Grail, I must inform you that the Master of the Grail is still borrowing my energy. In about two minutes, time will be suspended in this region. If you stay, you will not be able to move and the Grail Master will be able to capture or kill you as he wishes. There will be no escape."
Han Shuo was shocked. He knew that gods who cultivated in the Edict of Space did indeed have the miraculous ability to temporarily suspend time. The more powerful their divine energy, the greater the range and the longer the duration.
In a duel, especially a battle between gods, one second of laziness could often mean the end of the battle. A god with this ability could easily dodge attacks from inches away by freezing time and then maiming or slaughtering his enemy before they even knew what had happened. It was truly terrifying.
Han Shuo's heart sank when he heard these words from the person inside the Holy Grail. From the person's hasty speech, Han Shuo could tell that this person definitely wasn't joking. He immediately asked, "How far does the effect reach?"
"A fifty kilometre radius."
Han Shuo heaved a sigh of relief. "If you have a way to reverse it, then hurry up and tell me. Otherwise I will leave this place immediately."
"I I don't know how your soul was able to pass through the space-time barrier, but since your soul was able to get in here, you should be able to see the space-time rifts all around you. You'll need to strike as hard as you can at a specific point of vulnerability on the rift; the space-time barrier will break and you can go to the Master of the Grail unhindered. I'll walk you through it. Since the Master has used the Grail to deal with you, he is certainly not your opponent without the power of the Grail. This means that if you can get in here, he will be an easy target."
Han Shuo remained silent for a while and suddenly transmitted, "Why should I trust you?"
"It doesn't matter if you trust me or not. If you are not here when the time is frozen, the Grail Master will use my energy to make a short hyperspace jump and make an easy retreat."
Another short time had unknowingly passed while the two were talking. Han Shuo quickly considered his options. He knew that he had to make a decision immediately to escape or try to break through the spatial barrier. Otherwise, when the time ran out, he would be frozen there and easily finished off by the Light Pope.
Han Shuo hesitated for a moment before making up his mind. "Fine, show me the location of that space-time rift!"
"The rift you need to find has rare, characteristic jade-green stripes. They rotate in a circle. Strike the centre of the circle and the space barrier will be wide open for you!" The voice was urgent.
Having made up his mind, Han Shuo did not hesitate one bit. Immediately, he released another strand of his consciousness and began to move through the space-time rifts as instructed.
The consciousness was disembodied but very real. Following the instructions of the voice within the Holy Grail, Han Shuo did not waste a single second before finding the space-time fissure.
Directly in front of Han Shuo's consciousness was a dark hole emanating a beautiful, bright, multi-coloured light. The soft and gentle rays looked no different to the spinning, vast ocean of stars. It was enigmatic.
On an inconspicuous spot of the rift, streamer-like jade-green stripes were spinning in a circular arc.
Han Shuo's consciousness paused there for a moment. After verifying that this was indeed what he was looking for, with his main body standing still and tall, the consciousness in his mind suddenly unfolded. It transformed into a point of energy that shot straight into the centre of the circle surrounded by those jade-green stripes.
Rrrip! A very faint and strange sound from that point shattered the silence. The destruction of the fulcrum spread throughout the entire space barrier. A violent wave of ripples travelled across the barrier formed by the Edict of Space covering the Light Pope and the Divine Magus.
In an instant, all the consciousness that Han Shuo had let out returned to his body.
Han Shuo showed not the slightest hesitation when he realised that the Space Edict barrier had vanished. He fiercely shot at the Light Pope and struck him down with a cloud of icy spellfire in his palm. The Light Pope instantly went stiff. His body was still frozen in the running position, but he couldn't move.
The Divine Light Magus, with the cross still in his hand, just like the Divine Knight, was an enemy that Han Shuo wanted to get rid of. After restraining the Pope of Light, Han Shuo's large hand gave the demigod magus a light slap.
Unlike the Light Pope, who had quickly realised that something was wrong, the demigod magus was still chanting as usual. He had absolutely no idea that Han Shuo's fatal blow was about to land on him.
Splat! The Demigod Magus' skull was shattered like a watermelon catapulted against a brick wall. Brain matter and flowing blood splattered everywhere before his body collapsed softly, maintaining the same posture.
Unlike that Divine Knight, this Divine Light Magus had reached a certain level in soul cultivation. After his skull was shattered, just like the old shaman, his soul did not dissipate, but tried to fight free at all costs.
Han Shuo had always liked guys whose souls didn't crumble after their physical bodies died. Such a powerful soul was very useful to him. Not only could he refine some demonic weapons with them, but he could also turn them into puppets with wonderful uses, such as a mystical demon.
There were four levels of demon generals, ranked from the weakest to the strongest - Original Demon, Yin Demon, Mystical Demon and Spirit Demon. After the death of Han Shuo's twelve mystical demons, Han Shuo did not refine any new Demon Generals because he wanted to refine the Demon General of the highest grade - Spirit Demon. However, since this class of demon general had an infinite potential to evolve, it had very high refining requirements.
The most basic ingredient required was a powerful soul. Even with tens of millions of low-level wraiths, it was impossible to refine a spirit demon. A 'mighty soul' was a soul that didn't disintegrate after the death of its physical body.
Han Shuo was excited to collect the soul of this old shaman. Unexpectedly, learning that this demigod magus also possessed a mighty soul had added to his delight. He smiled darkly and flicked his finger. A dark radiance shot out from his fingertip, firmly attaching itself to this demigod magus' soul before pulling it into his Soul Depository Ring.
"You want to escape? Sorry, but I won't let you do it that easily!" Han Shuo chuckled heartily and put his ring away. He was in a very good mood.
After sorting him out, all that remained was the Pope of Light in front of him, bound by the Mystical Glacial Spellfire. Han Shuo glanced at the Pope, whose eyebrows and hair were covered in frost, and snatched the Holy Grail from his hands without hesitation.
With a pulsation of his consciousness, Han Shuo regained contact with the consciousness within the Holy Grail. He transmitted, "With your help, I have now brought down the Master of the Grail. I don't know who you are or where you came from, but you have been a great help. I say we try to be honest with each other. Who knows what unexpected rewards we might gain from each other. What do you say?"
Simply by harnessing the power within the Holy Grail, the Pope of Light had created space-time rifts around him and was about to temporarily suspend time. From these clues, Han Shuo deduced that the consciousness within the Holy Grail must be very powerful. Even though he had helped Han Shuo, there was no way that Han Shuo would just let him out until he fully understood the situation. In the event that this person had malicious intentions, Han Shuo had no certainty of escaping his attacks if he were released.
"Where is this place?" the consciousness within the Holy Grail did not answer Han Shuo's question, but took the initiative to ask about the current situation.
"Ossen City of the Lancelot Empire," Han Shuo was startled for a moment before answering.
The person within the Holy Grail remained silent for a moment before asking in a confused voice, "I ask, what material plane is this place on?"
"Profound Continent!" Han Shuo replied clearly.
"Never heard of it!" the voice replied succinctly. After that, they both fell silent.
After quickly turning around in his mind, Han Shuo tried to ask, "Where do you come from?"
"People who cultivate in the power of space usually do not have a fixed place of residence. We are usually interplanetary travellers."
Han Shuo was speechless. After another round of silence, he asked helplessly, "Then how did you get trapped inside the Holy Grail?"
"I was sealed here by the Gyál, one of the three Keepers of Light."
"Keepers of Light? Guardians directly under the God of Light?" Han Shuo was shocked.
"That's right. Gyál is one of the Keepers of Light, the most powerful subordinates of the god of light. He possesses the power of a late stage Highgod!" the consciousness within the Holy Grail replied fiercely. It seemed that it bore an immense grudge against this Gyál.
