Before the Great War broke out, War Demon Valley was shrouded in a suffocating atmosphere. Virtually every citizen was called upon to fight and defend War Demon Valley.
The Abyss was truly a place where everyone was a soldier. Through constant battle, any high-ranking Abyssal being would surely be a fighter who had experienced military campaigns. Even though the offensive that Venomfang Castle brought this time wasn't quite the same as before, and everyone in the valley was afraid of how things had developed, not a single one of them was cowering.
Indeed, as Han Shuo had predicted, after half a day, more and more oddly shaped abyssal creatures appeared in front of the stone forest that Han Shuo had placed outside the War Demon Valley. The forces of Venomfang Castle numbered in the tens of thousands, with the majority being massive but low-intelligence abyssal creatures.
These mighty abyssal creatures with humanoid forms made up only a tenth of the army. Their leaders were the Triops race that Han Shuo had encountered earlier. Under their leadership, more and more abyssal creatures were gathering outside the highest city wall of War Demon Valley.
The defences of War Demon Valley were still rather primitive. The best they had were fences covered with sharp knives, a few giant bows and arrows on the city wall, and boulders scattered throughout the Abyss realm.
A Triops, clad in pitch-black armour that covered his rather enormous body, held a two-metre trident in his hand, mounted on a warhawk with five python-like tails, hovering majestically in the sky outside the War Demon Valley. His eyes were cold and merciless. His body had an imposing appearance.
Behind him was a group of Triops mounted on warhawks, wearing the same pitch-black armour. These Triops were the true assets of Venomfang Castle. Each of them had at least the strength of a level three Destroyer.
Beneath them were densely packed abyssal experts with inhuman bodies. Han Shuo could easily sense the source of the six to seven Raksha grade aura that was being unleashed.
"Lord Yeki, why is there a stone forest covering the front of the War Demon Valley? In our previous rounds of attacks, this stone forest didn't exist. Will it be a problem?" asked an abyssal creature with a wrinkled face, resembling a bulldog, looking down at Yeki.
At his words, the invaders turned their attention to the land between the two opposing forces. Hundreds of thousands of stelae had been erected, scattered haphazardly across the centre of the battlefield. There were also large, multi-coloured banners depicting some sort of monster making threatening gestures. Lush green and deep blue miasma hung softly around the rock forest, giving it an air of mystery...
"What on earth is that? There is an intense element of death in it, and it seems to contain the aura of destruction. What kind of nasty tricks is War Demon Valley up to?" a Triops said quizzically, one of his eyes shining a strange light as bright as a torch onto the stone forest ahead.
"Second Brother, with General Zajya here, no matter what tricks War Demon Valley has up their sleeves, they won't be able to escape their final fate. We have nothing to fear. All we have to do is act in concert with Lord Zajya and destroy War Demon Valley once and for all," Yeki said with a cold smile after looking at the Triops beside him.
"Sure..." The Triops nodded his head, showing a confident smile as well. He conveniently turned to look at the legendary general of the Shadow Warriors, a level three demon - Zajya.
This man was over four metres tall. He had enchanting purple skin and scars from head to toe. His eyes were of the same purple colour, and he had the feverish gaze of a madman. A kind of intense aura of destruction emanated from his body.
Some of the abyssal creatures beside him deliberately kept their distance. Even though they were all on the same side, they seemed most reluctant to approach him, instinctively fearing him.
"Only when we have completely destroyed the War Demon Valley and crushed Crosius to dust can we return to meet Lord Golander!" Looking at the wide, towering walls of War Demon Valley, Zajya said slowly in a deafening voice, "Yeki, you better take this opportunity to finish off Crosius once and for all. After destroying War Demon Valley, your Venomfang Castle can be called Venomfang City. It is only so that the Lord can place you in an important position."
"Lord General, I can assure you that after today, Venomfang Castle will be known as Venomfang City. I have run Venomfang Castle for many years, and now it is time to take it to a higher level!" Yeki licked the corner of her lips.
"Hmph! This is not the time to be overly cheerful. You have not sufficiently resolved the matter of the interplanar portal within the territory of your Venomfang Castle. His Lordship will not be so eager to let you off the hook. The destruction of War Demon Valley can only be seen as making up for your mistakes. Don't even think about escaping the Lord's punishment," Zajya said after shooting a deadly look at Yeki.
Yeki's face suddenly stiffened. Showing a trace of fear and a humble expression, he said, "Would Lord General please put in a good word for me before the Demon Lord?
"I will," Zajya replied indifferently before continuing, "Considering that those ladies with tender bodies you prepared were absolutely delicious to eat, prepare me another thirty!"
Yeki gave a painful look, but nodded submissively. He promised: "Don't worry, Lord General, you will have all thirty of them.
Zajya nodded in satisfaction and said no more. He grabbed a soft, white arm, still warm to the touch, and began to munch away as if no one were watching.
"Apart from the experts Venomfang Castle originally had, there were demons who were supposed to be the shadow warriors you mentioned earlier. The one who leads them is called Zajya. He seemed to have a very literal taste for women. Truly a disgusting thing," Han Shuo slowly explained from the top of the city wall with a face full of loathing and disgust.
"What?! Zajya? Why does it have to be him?!" Brakyah cried, unable to contain his shock. He wore an unconcealable fear on his face.
Brakyah was not alone in his concern. The six Rakshas and five key visiting advisors all wore similarly frightened expressions. Among them, even some of the more beautiful ladies began to turn pale with icy despair in their eyes.
Even the Master of War Demon Valley, Crosius, couldn't hide the shock in his pair of deep eyes. He sighed, shook his head helplessly and said, "General Zajya, the head of the Shadow Warriors! Who would have thought that this crazy demon, who is known to like to eat women, would come? I really don't know if we can resist them until the reinforcement army arrives..." He sighed.
Crosius suddenly turned to Jasper as if he had just had a startling memory. With a pain in his heart he bellowed, "If War Demon Valley is breached, destroy your body and commit suicide. Zajya the madman likes to eat beauties alive. The victim does not die immediately, but suffers unimaginable pain. It is a cruel and unbearable way to die".
"Un... understood..." A shiver ran down Jasper's spine. She couldn't even think about that scalp-clenching, horrifying scene.
"Here, take this. If he dares to approach you, throw this at him. However, you must be aware that this thing has an enormous range. You must throw it at least fifty metres away from you. Otherwise, you will suffer the same fate as your oppressors," Han Shuo explained after handing her a Pearl of Annihilation when he noticed that she was frightened to the point of hyperventilating.
Jasper held on to the Pearl of Annihilation as if her life depended on it. She said determinedly, "I know what I have to do now.
"But you have nothing to worry about. With me here, he would have no chance of getting anywhere near you," Han Shuo winked.
After Han Shuo uttered Zajya's name, the expressions of all the experts of War Demon Valley around him changed. It was as if a huge disembodied mountain was pressing down on everyone's chest. The atmosphere was suffocating.
Han Shuo's calm demeanour did not make anyone feel better. They all assumed that since Han Shuo was a foreigner, he had no idea how terrifying General Zajya was and would therefore be so at ease.
Han Shuo's eyes gave off a barely perceptible feeling of contempt as he looked at the people around him. Zajya, an expert with the strength of a level three demon, could be considered to be at the late stage of the basegod realm at best. Han Shuo could easily take care of him with just his Lowgod of Destruction Avatar. It was Zajya who should be afraid, not the other way around.
However, this Zajya could not sense Han Shuo's mighty presence. Only in battle would he truly understand how terrifying this enemy of his was.
"All of you on the front lines, destroy this valley!" under the oppressive atmosphere, the master of Venomfang Castle, Yeki, suddenly raised his head and shouted in a voice as sharp as a banshee.
Abyssal creatures covering almost every inch of ground, driven by high-level experts, bravely marched forward and charged into the War Demon Valley.
The densely packed stone forest seemed to fill with these abyssal creatures in a split second. However, this so-called 'Magical Matrix', which Han Shuo had claimed to be extremely powerful, did not erupt with any shocking killing power. All it did was to obstruct the footsteps of those invaders.
"Mister Han Shuo, so this is the awesome power of the magical matrix that you have spent enormous resources and several days developing?" Brakyah said with an ashen expression. His speech was a little incoherent, perhaps due to his fear of Zajya or something else.
Crosius' face grew equally grim. Although he did not utter a word or move a muscle as he looked at Han Shuo, his eyes had clearly expressed his discontent. As the one whose resources had been greatly depleted, the fact that he had not immediately burst into rage was ample proof that his self-cultivation was of the highest order.
"I have yet to activate it. Why are you in such a hurry? Wait a little longer. When more of their people have entered, I'll activate it," Han Shuo remained calm and unperturbed, ignoring everyone's bludgeoning stares.
