In the Abyss Realm, might was right. When Crosius sensed the aura of basegod strength that Han Shuo was displaying, any feelings of annoyance at Han Shuo for his tardiness were completely sucked away. His immediate expression had amply proven that Crosius' place as the master of War Demon Valley was not just a result of his outstanding strength!
Even after Crosius uttered his last words, the meeting hall remained deadly silent. Every look from the six Rakshas and five visiting advisors was filled with horror. Of these, Brakyah's eyes were the clearest in their sense of powerlessness. He silently sighed in disappointment at the thought that he might not even have the opportunity to exact his revenge on Han Shuo.
Meanwhile, Jasper the beauty suddenly stopped her rapid scribbling and looked at Han Shuo with gleaming eyes. She was pleasantly surprised.
In the realm of the Abyss, as long as one possessed great strength, it was not difficult to gain the respect of anyone, not even an enemy!
Han Shuo had long since understood this law of the Abyss Realm, so he decided to try a little experiment on this chief of the visiting advisors. Who would have thought that Crosius' attitude towards Han Shuo would have changed so suddenly and completely?
With a calm, unruffled smile on his face, Han Shuo calmly claimed his place on the Chief of Visiting Advisors' seat. Just as he was about to open his mouth to say a few words, the hermaphrodite creature sitting across from Han Shuo, her female side glaring at Han Shuo bitterly, said in a tone as if she had been wronged, "Happy now? You can have the chief advisor's seat from me... Hehehe, a powerful man like you is very attractive to me..."
Goosebumps exploded like land mines on every inch of Han Shuo's skin. Before he could answer, he seemed to remember something and immediately stood up.
Crosius thought Han Shuo was upset and hastily asked, "Mister Han Shuo, is there something about the War Demon Valley not to your satisfaction? Do not worry, after the meeting is over, I will provide you with a spacious and secluded place for your residence, in addition to providing you with beauties of all races. I can guarantee your complete satisfaction."
Han Shuo was stunned but soon replied with a smile, "In that case, many thanks to Your Lordship," He then lowered his head and looked at the chair the hermaphrodite had been sitting in, revealing a look of antipathy, and said, "Um, please replace this chair with another one."
"Mister Han Shuo, you, you are such an unpleasant person. I hate you. Hmph..." the two-faced being denounced Han Shuo in humiliation and anger.
When Crosius saw the unsightly look on Han Shuo's face and found it somewhat laughable, he tried to hold back a cough before saying, "All right, all right, Brayshaw, stop provoking Mister Han Shuo!"
Brayshaw, the hermaphrodite, once again showed a bitter expression as he silently glared at Han Shuo. It seemed to be using its disgusting eyes to take revenge for Han Shuo's threatening display of power.
"Nambrough, come in and get Mr Han Shuo a new chair!" Nambrough ran into the hall as fast as he could and replaced the chair in no time. However, he was noticeably startled when he saw where Han Shuo was standing.
Nambrough stared blankly for a moment before he snapped out of it at Crosius' hasty glance. Afterwards, as he respectfully withdrew himself, Crosius suddenly said in a calm voice, "Nambrough, I will no longer investigate the matter of the Shero Regiment from three days ago.
Nambrough was stunned for a moment. Soon after, he hastily turned and kowtowed. With his head touching the ground, he said, "Thank you, Lord Crosius!"
As he raised his head, he glanced at Crosius before flashing a pair of grateful eyes at Han Shuo. Then he respectfully backed out of the meeting hall. He understood in his heart that the reason Crosius decided not to investigate the incident was surely because of Han Shuo.
Han Shuo wasn't quite clear about the rules in this War Demon Valley. Therefore, he found it rather strange when Nambrough looked at him so gratefully after he had sat down. But he did not dwell on it. Just as he was about to ask Crosius what they had been discussing, he saw that disgusting look again from the bitter Brayshaw sitting across from him. Immediately, Han Shuo shouted as he glared at Brayshaw, "Look at me like that again and I will finish you right now!"
Brayshaw was startled, her 'adorable' expression suddenly changing and her eyes immediately turned to Crosius. She no longer dared to look at Han Shuo for fear that Han Shuo might suddenly attack and get rid of her right there in the meeting hall. Brayshaw had been in the War Demon Valley for a long time, and he knew how much Crosius valued a powerful expert. An expert in Demon Strength was definitely incomparable to an expert in the realm of Raksha like herself.
In the event of a conflict with Han Shuo, Crosius would not think twice about siding with Han Shuo and sacrificing Brayshaw. Such a strategic move could not be less trivial in the Abyss Realm. If one wanted to live a little longer, it was best not to provoke characters one could not afford to provoke. This word to the wise had long been understood by Brayshaw.
"Mister Han Shuo, I have to say that I did not expect you to hide your true strength all this time. Hehehe, had I known earlier that Mister Han Shuo was so powerful, I would have given you the very best treatment from the start!" Crosius openly acknowledged Han Shuo's snobbish behaviour days before. Then, looking at Brayshaw and company, he continued, "You have all witnessed Mr Han Shuo's strength. I believe none of you will have any objection to his appointment to the position of Chief of Visiting Advisors?"
"Absolutely not," "Agreed, agreed," the few visiting advisors replied in unison. Even Brayshaw, the former Chief of Visitors, coyly stated, "Rules are rules. It is only natural that the strongest should be in charge. I have no objection to that."
"Very well then," Crosius turned to look at Jasper standing far, far away, and instructed, "Let the records show that from this day forward, Mister Han Shuo will be the Chief of Visiting Advisors to War Demon Valley. He shall receive the best of all treatments. The seven hundred metre manor in the south will be assigned to Mister Han Shuo as his new residence. In addition, one young and beautiful lady from each race in War Demon Valley will be selected and sent to the manor. It is their honour to be given the opportunity to serve Mr. Han Shuo."
"Yes, Father," Jasper replied, glancing at Han Shuo before hastily lowering her head to continue her note-taking.
"This time, War Demon Valley is in a major crisis. Experts from Venomfang Castle are on their way here as we speak. Some of our defences in the surrounding area have been removed by experts from Venomfang Castle. They may mobilise and launch a Full scale attack on War Demon Valley in a matter of days. Not only is the size of the invading enemy the largest we have ever faced, but there are at least two Shadow Warriors among them. That's what worries me the most. The strength of the Demon Rank. In addition to the master of Venomfang Castle, Yeki, there will be at least three demons. That won't be easy for our War Demon Valley to handle..."
Crosius explained the situation to Han Shuo. He revealed a rather awkward friendly smile and said, "Fortunately, we have Mr Han Shuo on our side now. With Mr Han Shuo here, our chances have increased. As long as we can hold out until the reinforcements arrive, our War Demon Valley will be able to teach Venomfang Castle a good lesson."
"Lord Crosius, what level of demon is Yeki? And the other two known shadow warriors, what level of demon are they?" Han Shuo asked with slightly knitted brows.
"Yeki's is the same as mine, we are both level one demons. As for the two Shadow Warriors, their strengths are undetermined," Crosius replied.
As he nodded his head, Han Shuo thought that given his current strength, he would be able to keep all three demons under control with just his Destruction Lowgod Avatar. The crisis didn't seem particularly difficult to handle.
""These are only the known forces of Venomfang Castle. We have no idea whether they might have more fighters. Besides, after the news of the interplanar portal explosion spread, some other experts from smaller forces had secretly crossed over. Some of them were from the other three Demon Kings, and some were experts with little influence. They left no clue as to what their intentions were and if they would join the battle," Crosius said in a deep voice as he remembered these unknown and possible threats.
"I see..." Han Shuo thought for a moment before suddenly putting on a straight face and telling Crosius, "I know of a magical matrix. As long as it is used outside the War Demon Valley, it will surely inflict enormous casualties on the enemy. However, this formation requires a lot of unique materials. I don't know if War Demon Valley can gather them."
Han Shuo was particularly tempted by a certain material unique to the Abyss Realm. However, since he did not possess a single cent of this world's currency, it was not very feasible for him to obtain large quantities of these materials. However, with such a reason, he could easily justify harvesting a large amount of these substances.
"Magical Matrix? What is a magical matrix?" Crosius didn't understand the term Han Shuo was referring to.
"Um, just like this," Han Shuo didn't quite know how to put it into words, so he casually pulled out some magic crystal ores and arranged a hexagram necromancy matrix on the ground. Under the effects of Han Shuo's mental power, the intense aura of death in the surroundings gathered towards the centre of the star. Finally, with a single thought, the magic crystal ores all exploded. The Aura of Death that had accumulated in the centre instantly erupted in several folds, sending rays of death through the room.
After absorbing the memories of Haley the Basegod, Han Shuo knew how to use some necromancy magic formations. The one he demonstrated was just the most basic Death Radiance. He used a few magic crystal ores to condense the element of death several times in a fraction of a second, causing it to explode and unleash intense death rays.
Han Shuo had deliberately arranged it so that none of the experts in the Grand Hall would be injured. The stones that made up the hall were as hard as steel, but at the end of it, they were left with holes large and small after the flash of light.
As the stunned Crosius continued to stare at Han Shuo, he put on a smile and said, "This is just a simple magical matrix. With enough materials, the finest of course, its power can be further optimised to do hundreds or thousands of times more damage!"
Crosius had shock written all over his face. He was dazed as he looked at the holes all over the great hall. After a long time, he suddenly turned to Jasper and solemnly instructed, " "Take Mister Han Shuo to the weapons material warehouse. Let Mister Han Shuo choose and collect any goods or materials he needs. If it is not enough, I will find a way to get more!"
