CHAPTER 515: Collapsing Space-time

The abyssal demons, numerous as ever, obviously had no intention of letting Han Shuo go. Even with the interplanar tunnel sealed, they could not shake the desire to tear to pieces the man who had slaughtered so many of their comrades, especially since Han Shuo was soaked in sweet, sweet blood.

Despite their ugly appearance, the demons were no fools. On the contrary, these seemingly primitive, violent creatures were frighteningly cunning!

The creatures knew a thing or two about maiming another being, and Han Shuo was certainly injured, though they weren't quite sure what creature had inflicted such damage on this butcher. Nevertheless, they were determined to reduce Han Shuo to a pile of ashes.

Still howling with laughter, Han Shuo was not the least bit afraid of the numerous abyssal creatures surrounding him. His protective shield had shattered instantly from the Primordial Dragon's blow, leaving his body exposed.

As the abyssal creatures began to spray their poisonous cocktails, Han Shuo finally came to his senses and put aside his unproductive anger. Using the Demonic Yuan in his body, he once again erected a shining dark shield.

And once again, the shower of poisonous fluids was kept away from Han Shuo like an umbrella. Numerous abyssal creatures that had dared to rush over under the demonic blades in Han Shuo's two hands were ripped into slices of flesh before falling into the unknown space below.

Where there is life, there is hope. Han Shuo used the time to inspect his body for injuries. He discovered that he had indeed suffered unimaginable damage from the Primordial Dragon's blow. However, Han Shuo was pleased to find that his demon infant was unharmed.

For a demonic arts practitioner, consciousness was of the utmost importance. Second to that was the demon infant, the source of energy in the body. As long as these two were in good shape, no matter how much damage one's body suffered, the damage would not be fatal. Therefore, when Han Shuo discovered that his demon infant had finally suffered no damage, he heaved a sigh of relief.

His body tissues had been largely destroyed, with almost all of his internal organs shattered. Even some of his meridians and bones were damaged. Despite the severity of his injuries, he could rest assured that he would not die. In time, Han Shuo would fully recover and his body would be as good as new.

As long as Han Shuo lived, there would always be an opportunity for revenge. Thinking fondly of his lovers in the Profound Continent, and with his deep-rooted hatred for the Primordial Dragon and the Church of Light in mind, Han Shuo did not hesitate to attack. He tore into pieces any Abyssal Demons that dared approach him.

With the interplanar portal sealed behind him, Han Shuo did not have to worry about the possibility of attackers coming from behind. He used his tenacious demonic martial arts skills to withstand the onslaught of the abyssal demons, turning the hatred in his heart into ferocious attacks. Those abyssal demons were dismembered one by one by Han Shuo's demonic blades.

What seemed like an eternity passed, and Han Shuo began to feel a little tired. It wasn't a lack of Demonic Yuan that he was experiencing, but rather the severe trauma to his body that was taking its toll. Many of his meridians and bones had been damaged, preventing Han Shuo from skilfully using his demonic arts. Even the formidable power of the Demonic Blades was gradually diminishing.

Most demonic skills depended on the unimpeded circulation of the meridians. It was only with robust and healthy meridians and skeletal structure that Han Shuo could unleash demonic arts with certainty and without hindrance. Han Shuo had no choice but to find another way to escape, for he knew that there was no wisdom in remaining at the mercy of the endless stream of abyssal creatures for much longer.

Han Shuo had no idea how many more of these abyssal creatures there were and he had no idea how much longer he could hold out.

It seems that in order to cut a bloody path out of the battlefield, I must first reverse the situation and stop playing the passive role, Han Shuo thought.

As he continued to attack the abyssal creatures that dared to approach him, Han Shuo surveyed the situation around him. His gaze finally fixed on the world behind the abyssal creatures, thinking that this was where he should make his breakthrough.

It was then that he noticed his surroundings change. This grey abyss suddenly produced an extremely violent space-time fluctuation, sending lightning bolts across the sky. In the blink of an eye, spacetime shook.

Han Shuo stared blankly for half a moment before realising what was happening. Although he had never experienced such an event before, he had heard about it. This phenomenon occurred when spacetime could not support the pressure of too much chaotic energy, causing it to buckle or even collapse.

Uh-oh, you better get out of here as soon as possible. Otherwise, when space-time collapses, no one will be able to escape. Even in the best case scenario, if I don't die horribly after being crushed, I'll have to live the rest of my life in the even more uncertain space-time rift. There will be no return to the Profound Continent from there.

Han Shuo turned pale with fear. He had decided to escape from this place no matter what. But before he could do so, he noticed that the abyssal creatures that had been charging at him with such brazen abandon had retreated like tidal waves, their necks bent in terror, no longer paying any attention to Han Shuo.

Dong... Dong... An unearthly thud echoed through the ground behind them, like a signal to retreat.

Hmm, these abyssal creatures do have some intelligence after all, Han Shuo thought as his pupils followed the retreating abyssal creatures. Following the creatures, Han Shuo also quickly left this space as it was on the verge of collapsing.

If these abyssal creatures knew how to get to this area, then they must know where to retreat. As long as I stay on their trail, there's no reason for me to fail. Han Shuo headed in the direction of the creatures, gradually overtaking them.

The creatures were clearly aware that the threat of a collapsing space-time was more important than even their greatest enemy. Even though Han Shuo was right next to them, they did not continue to attack him, instead turning a blind eye to his presence. Under orders to retreat, they returned to the path they had come from.

Rumbling...

A most terrifying sound came from behind Han Shuo. Without even turning around to look, just with his consciousness, he sensed that the space-time behind him could no longer withstand the strain of all sorts of chaotic energies and was beginning to form rifts that could swallow all things.

Hiss...

The strange call of the abyssal creatures sounded incessantly from behind him. Although Han Shuo couldn't understand what exactly they were trying to communicate, he guessed from the frightened tone that their frightened tones were meant to hurry the others.

According to lore, these space-time rifts were completely devoid of any element, not even air, which meant that any being that depended on food or air would die of suffocation or starvation if they fell in.

However, an unnatural being like Han Shuo, who did not need food or air to survive, would not die immediately after falling into a space-time rift. However, he would have to endure an infinite loneliness, a thought that seemed more terrifying to him than death.

More and more strange noises were coming from the abyssal demons behind him, those hurried cries turning into screams of desperation. Han Shuo realised that some of the abyssal demons must have been pulled into the crevices.

Han Shuo's heart was pounding. He had no choice but to risk his body and suffer further damage. Ignoring everything else, Han Shuo cranked up his Demonic Ninth Heaven Art to the max and fled the area as fast as he could.

Pfff... Han Shuo spat out a mouthful of fresh hot blood. Three more meridians in his body burst.

The demonic blades in his two hands acted like his invincible Demonslayer Edge, slicing through the larger abyssal demons in his path. At that moment, Han Shuo did not care at all about the stench of those abyssal demons, and passed right through their bodies.

In matters of life and death, Han Shuo's heart was resolute and cold. All ethics could easily be put aside to ensure survival, let alone those filthy demon carcasses.

It was precisely because of Han Shuo's determination that he had no qualms about boring through the bodies of the abyssal demons in his path, and was able to escape the rapidly expanding space-time rift.

The rumbling grew louder and louder, as loud as a volcanic eruption. Suddenly, a whole new scene appeared in front of Han Shuo. There were ominous looking plants, mountains and rivers.

Eventually, Han Shuo escaped the area after flying at the fastest speed he had ever run in his life.

A terrifyingly chaotic energy erupted from behind Han Shuo. It was safe to assume that the abyssal demons behind him had been completely destroyed in the collapsed space-time.
