CHAPTER 467: Ganging Up?

Like the Church of Light, the Shrine of Ice was one of the more prominent religious organisations on the Profound Continent. The Shrine of Ice worshipped the Goddess of Ice. Although its influence wasn't as widespread as that of the Church of Light, it was not to be underestimated.

The Shrine of Ice was the state religion of the Kasi Empire, and its headquarters were located at the top of the coldest mountain in the Kasi Empire. Unexpectedly, Tiana was not only the protector of the Kasi Empire, but also came from the Shrine of Ice and was even their Snow Celestial.

Han Shuo learned secrets from Corey that even Candide of the Dark Mantle knew nothing about. It seemed that this Ice Shrine was quite mysterious.

Finally, Han Shuo understood why Tiana was plotting against him. It was because the Church of Light and the Ice Shrine had always worked closely together. As the Celestial Snow for the Ice Shrine, it was only natural that Tiana would trap him for the Church of Light.

The group from the Ice Shrine, led by Corey the Ice Celestial, were all on high alert as they looked at Han Shuo. Among them, Corey was the strongest, with a strength roughly equal to Han Shuo's. As for the other five, based on the icy aura they radiated, they possessed the strength of a Sacred expert.

However, the strength of this group was not to be underestimated. No matter what nation they belonged to, they were a force that no one dared to ignore. To be so bold as to enter the second layer of the underworld and massacre the dark dragons in their own territory, one would have to possess a certain amount of power to succeed.

At that moment, Han Shuo also began to understand why Lawrence was so happy to find out that Han Shuo possessed demigod strength. The Oden Empire had the Church of Light. The Kasi Empire had the Ice Shrine. Such religious organisations would usually have terrifying experts. Perhaps the reason why the Lancelot Empire had not dared to go to war for so many years was because they were afraid of these existences.

Soon after, another question arose in Han Shuo's heart. The strength that the Kasi Empire had shown had completely crushed that of the Lancelot Empire. But why hadn't the Kasi Empire invaded the Lancelot Empire for so many years? By relying on their Ice Celestial and Snow Celestial, before Han Shuo became a demigod, who in the Lancelot Empire could stop them?

Besides, the Brut Merchant Alliance and the Angel Empire were both supported by powerful experts. Even the Seven Grand Duchies had the old monster Stratholme, another demigod existence. How was it that the Lancelot Empire remained safe and sound for so many years?

"What are you doing?" the Ice Celestial shouted again as Han Shuo lost himself in thought. He had a bone-chilling longsword in his hand!

Han Shuo came to his senses immediately and turned his head to look at the dark dragon Gilbert. All he saw was Gilbert being showered with curses by a small, tearful old man trapped in Corey's cage. The old man seemed to be Gilbert's grandfather, the Patriarch of the Dark Dragons - Gilges. Though he spoke in an angry, disgruntled tone, his worried expression showed that he was concerned.

Gilbert turned a deaf ear to his grandfather's verbal abuse, but stared at Corey the Ice Celestial with eyes filled with pure hatred. Even without practising the God-Slaying Devil Path, the killing intent emanating from his body was still incredibly dense. It was a bloodthirsty desire to destroy everything, regardless of the consequences.

"Nothing really!" Han Shuo groaned coldly. He opened his hand. Five dark rays shot out from his fingertips straight towards the pure white cage that held the entire clan of dark dragons.

Contrary to Han Shuo's expectations, Corey, who was standing right next to the cage, did not intercept the attack, but sneered as he looked at Han Shuo with contempt. The other five wore the same expression. The look in their eyes irritated Han Shuo.

However, Han Shuo soon found out why these people had such contemptuous faces. Without any interference from Corey or the other five, the five beams landed directly on the pristine white cage, making a few "dong dong" sounds but remaining unharmed under Han Shuo's bombardment.

Han Shuo was stunned. He had realised just how terrifying the striking power of those five beams was. Even iron and stone, no matter how hard they were, would be pulverised by those forces. Yet, after being hit directly by Han Shuo, the cage still managed to come out unscathed. This was obviously beyond Han Shuo's expectations.

"This cage has been blessed by the Goddess of Ice. If you could damage it, we would have turned around and fled!" Ice Celestial Corey sneered incessantly at Han Shuo. Then he turned the ice-cold longsword in his hand to point at Han Shuo and said, "An enemy, it seems!"

As Corey said these words, the other five of his party all left the cage at the same time, seemingly unconcerned about the cage breaking. One by one, they dispersed with cold, distant expressions, presumably preparing to leave both Han Shuo and the Dark Dragon Gilbert behind.

Of this delegation of six, Ice Celestial Corey was the most powerful. From the presence emanating from him, he appeared to be a mage swordsman. The longsword in his hand contained an enormous icy aura, mixed with pure, cold divine energy, which bore a striking resemblance to the holy energy of the Templar Knights of the Church of Light.

All so-called religions were like this. They could always trade their devotion to their respective gods for some divine energy. Even a small amount of divine energy was more than enough for them to transcend their own limitations and gain powers unimaginable to ordinary humans.

When he noticed the six guys from the Ice Shrine slowly trying to surround him, Han Shuo couldn't help but furrow his brow. If it had only been Ice Celestial Corey, Han Shuo would not have been afraid at all, after all, Han Shuo was extremely confident in himself. However, when those five Sacred Rank experts were brought into the picture, Han Shuo would have felt a bit annoyed to have to deal with them all at once.

Especially since two of the five were Water Sacred Magus. At that moment, they had already begun to chant their spells. Suddenly, the entire second layer of the underground world seemed to have turned into a world of ice and snow. An icy chill filled the entire region.

"Friend, no matter who you are, don't even think about leaving here today!" Corey walked towards Han Shuo, step by step, as incantations from his subordinates hummed through the air. The longsword in his hand was gradually covered with a layer of frost that glittered like diamonds and contained an incomparable frosty aura.

"Ganging up? Hahaha, being ganged up on is the last thing I'm afraid of!" Han Shuo was suddenly no longer afraid. Laughing mischievously, he pulled the skeleton staff from his space ring and followed it up with necromancy spells. Undead creatures appeared around Han Shuo one by one.

Before Corey could get close to Han Shuo, every single empty space around Han Shuo had begun to close until there were none left, all occupied by numerous densely packed undead creatures.

From the lowest level skeletal warriors and ghouls to evil knights, a bone demon and a mummy lord, a whole range of undead had been summoned. Most importantly, there was a bunch of utterly sinister zombies, all clad in strange-looking armour. Among them were the Metal Elite Zombie, who wielded a golden cudgel glittering with golden rays, and the Fire Elite Zombie, who held a pulsating fire lotus.

Amongst all the undead creatures, the elite zombies seemed somehow out of place!

"You, you really are a damn necromancer!" Corey was shocked, somewhat shaken by the countless undead creatures Han Shuo summoned.

"Hehehe. So what if you are a necromancer? We even have the entire tribe of dark dragons in our hands. With just a ragtag team of lowly undead creatures, what exactly do you think you can do to us?" Corey was very conceited, obviously not seeing these living undead as a threat.

"Lowly?" Han Shuo sneered. Soon after, he inwardly gave the five elite zombies an order: Find an opportunity to form the Penta-elemental Undead Formation.

As the little skeleton was busy fusing his soul with the Origin Crystal of Pure Death Element, he did not appear this time. But with the five elite zombies in addition to the three evil knights and the mummy lord, Han Shuo was still sure that they could stand up to the six from the Ice Shrine.

However, as a surefire guarantee, Han Shuo still had the elite zombies prepare to deploy the Penta-elemental Undead Formation. Even though the five elite zombies had yet to fully fuse their energies, based on Little Skeleton's previous statement, Han Shuo had determined that even the currently half-completed Penta-elemental Undead Formation could still unleash formidable firepower.

"Master, I want revenge, I want to kill them!" the dark dragon Gilbert roared in anger.

"With what? Just the two of you?" Corey sneered in the most derogatory tone possible. Then, with disgust in his eyes, he roared, "Cleanse these filthy necromancy creatures for me!"

At Ice Celestial Corey's words, the chanting behind him abruptly stopped. Moments later, the entire region was transformed into a world of ice and snow. Freezing gusts of air engulfed the entire valley. Huge icicles and hailstones the size of querns rained down from the sky, aimed at the undead that crowded the canyon.

The magic unleashed by a Sacred Magus was indeed terrifying, and even more so when unleashed by two Sacred Magi at the same time!

The entire canyon was transformed into a horrific scene of icicles and hail shooting in every direction. Of the vast number of undead creatures Han Shuo had summoned, the low-ranking skeleton warriors were being slain one by one.

In the blink of an eye, several thousand undead creatures were reduced to minced meat by icicles and hailstones. But for undead creatures at the level of Hate Warriors and above, their tough bodies were able to withstand the attack. Naturally, the Bone Demon and the Mummy Lord, undead at such a high level, were unharmed.

The bone-chilling aura covered the entire Great Canyon, causing even the dark dragons imprisoned in the cage to tremble and creak. But as far as the undead were concerned, low temperatures would never be a threat to them. Under the shower of icicles and hail, the remaining undead lined up to attack Corey and his party.
