"You... who are you?! Don't hurt us, we'll give you anything you want!" Kekaru pleaded with Han Shuo, trying to ignore the excruciating pain in his left hand.
"Hehehe, no. You don't have the means to give me what I want!" Han Shuo replied casually, his hand forcing Kesega to the ground. Kesega was in so much pain that he had long forgotten his delusional fantasies with Helen. When he saw Han Shuo's hand pressing down on him, he felt a great force pressing down on him, making it impossible for him to move a single step.
"Don't... Don't kill me!" Kesega was paralysed and could only beg for forgiveness.
Pfft! Han Shuo's hand brushed across Kesega's head. Magical Yuan emanating from his hand burrowed into Kesega's head, turning it into paste. His body collapsed to the ground, now just a boneless mass of flesh.
Han Shuo went to Kekaru's side. Ignoring his screams, he smiled, "Except for you, your entire clan is dead. You're lucky, though. I won't kill you."
"Fiend! You fiend, what grudge do you have against me? Why are you doing this to me?" Kekaru blanched when he heard about the death of his clan member. Ignoring the pain in his left hand, he ripped it from the wall and charged at Han Shuo. He was consumed by the urge to at least land a few blows on Han Shuo.
Han Shuo focused his mental strength and cast Soul Tremor spell. A stabbing pain exploded in Kekaru's head before he could do more than take a few steps in Han Shuo's direction. Dizzy from the pain, he stumbled forward a few steps before succumbing to the agony and passing out.
The Demonslayer's blade, still lodged in Kekaru's left hand, flew of its own accord into Han Shuo's hand. He scooped up the unconscious Kekaru and dived back into the gaping hole in the ground, plunging back into the depths of the earth.
If someone were to excavate the ground right now, they'd discover numerous tunnels meeting and splitting all over the city. Each of the tunnels opened up next to the various relatives of Marquis Kekaru who lived in the castle. No relative was spared.
This intricate network of tunnels extended several metres into the ground. Even with several hundred people working on it, it would still take about 10 days to complete. The castle housed many of Kekaru's personal guards, as well as a number of mages. Under normal circumstances, the tunnels would be discovered as soon as anyone heard suspicious noises coming from underground. Obviously, some of these things could not be explained by common sense. As Han Shuo made his way through the tunnels, the tunnels collapsed under the pressure of the earth. When Han Shuo left, there was no trace in the ground beneath the castle that a tunnel had ever existed, let alone this intricate network.
The dark night was lit by the moonlight that streamed down like mercury. Under the light caress of the evening breeze, Han Shuo slipped easily into Helen's mansion. As he did so, he unleashed a dark mist spell, enveloping himself in a black cloak. Even the moonlight was completely obscured.
Helen was alone in the residence and did not know why she was starting to worry about Han Shuo. This kind of feeling bothered Helen. She had never worried about a man's safety before, especially a man who should have been the target of her hatred. However, she had no way of controlling her inner feelings. Knowing what Han Shuo was up to, she became more and more agitated with every minute and second that Han Shuo was gone, fearing that Han Shuo wouldn't be able to return safely.
"Please don't get into trouble!" Helen muttered with a furrowed brow and a worried expression on her face. The lights in the room had long since gone out. Helen stood by the window and stared in the direction Han Shuo had left. The moonlight played on Helen's white skin, making it look cold and bleak. It was a moving sight, and brought pity to the hearts of all who watched.
As the black mist magic approached the mansion, Helen felt the moonlight disappear for the first time. Looking around, the corners of Helen's lips lifted. With a small laugh of joy, she opened the window wider and took a few steps back. As Helen opened the window, the breeze blew in a cloud of grey dust. The window closed silently and a grey figure gradually materialised.
"Are you all right?" Helen didn't ask Han Shuo if Kekaru had been killed, but inquired about Han Shuo's condition first. It seemed that in the depths of Helen's heart, Han Shuo's safety was more important than whether Kekaru lived or died.
When he heard these words, Han Shuo noticed the change in her attitude towards him. Unconsciously warming his heart, he smiled and said gently, "Thank you for your concern. I'm fine."
The upper part of his left hand that held Kekaru was already frozen by the cold air currents. Not a single drop of blood had been spilled, nor would the smell of blood permeate the room. Not even a hair of evidence would be left behind.
Having finished speaking, Han Shuo fully reformed and carried Kekaru. Helen immediately saw the unconscious Kekaru. Helen's eyes, so warm when she looked at Han Shuo, gradually filled with an unfathomable hatred when she looked at Kekaru. She said, "I've finally got you, you old dog!"
Giving Helen a meaningful look, Han Shuo carried Kekaru to a room further inside the mansion. Casually throwing him into the room, Han Shuo cast a soundproof spell on the area. After casting the spell, he said to the murderously cold Helen, "Alright, you can wake him up now. Kill him slowly, I'll stand guard outside."
Perhaps it was because Helen had suppressed her hatred for so long, having waited several years, that she didn't say a word to Han Shuo with her nemesis at her fingertips. With an icy expression on her face, Helen entered the room that had once served as a storeroom. As the door slammed shut, Han Shuo wasted no energy eavesdropping. He casually walked over to where Helen had been sitting and took out another cup of wine. Pouring himself a full glass, he sipped the fine wine while he pulled out a thick tomb necromancy book and immersed himself in study.
With the exception of the Plague spell, Han Shuo had already mastered all the spells an Archmage needed to know. His mental strength was already at the level of a Grand Magus, and he spent all his time studying the art of summoning creatures from the underworld.
Old fey zombies, mummy lords and bone demons. These three creatures could all be controlled by Grand Magus, although their more advanced summoning techniques differed slightly. When Han Shuo summoned, he would often make contact with them immediately after the summoning. As a result, Han Shuo could easily summon them into this world.
When they were summoned, such low-level creatures didn't have the ability to resist, and they would come at Han Shuo's whim, not knowing whether to go or not. Starting with the evil knights, the summoning techniques were completely different. Even if Han Shuo could sense the presence of the evil knights, he would have to expend a great deal of energy to crush their resistance. Only then would he be able to control their actions and use the power of a contract to summon them to this world.
Summoned creatures at the level of Grand Magus all had their own consciousness. Their power was far greater than creatures at other levels. Even in the underworld, creatures at this level acted as ambitious overlords. At the very least, they would be loners that most inferior creatures would not dare to disturb.
Not only did these creatures have a mind of their own, but they were also haughty and arrogant. A simple treaty couldn't bind them. For this very reason, the summoning techniques for them were much more complicated and mysterious, including deep spiritual probes to understand the temperament of the underworld creatures.
In addition, when a necromancer and an undead creature made a contract, the necromancer needed enough power to make the creature swear allegiance to him, otherwise he would have to deal with the creature's resistance.
During the process of resistance, the summoner had to use their energy to suppress the summoned creature and maintain the accuracy of the summoning ritual. Any mispronounced syllable or hand gesture was unacceptable. The interconnected energy patterns would fail and the backlash of the failed summoning would affect the summoner. It was highly likely that the summoned creature would then be trapped between two planes, unable to return forever.
Han Shuo studied the details of each of the high-ranking undead creatures. The claws and teeth of the Old Fey Zombie were razor-sharp, and its movements were nimble. Their body structure was similar to that of the silver monkeys, although they were obviously smaller. However the old fey zombies had the sharp claws and teeth of the silver apes, and were just as fast.
The mummy lords were as strong as the hardest rock. Lying in a coffin all day, their speed was poor, but they were strong. They were also corrosive, capable of mixing an aura of death with streamers in their bodies. As such, they were also difficult to fight.
Bone Demons were made entirely of large bones held together. Of the three undead creatures, bone demons were the most unique. Since their entire bodies were made of bones, if the bones that made them up were strong and filled with death energy, the power of the bone demon would be even more terrifying. In addition, they had excellent defensive properties against both physical and magical attacks.
If necessary, the Bone Demon could also fire the bones on its body. The power of these bone projectiles was terrifying; a single projectile was enough to deal a fatal blow. After firing the projectiles, the bone demon could reattach them to its body. However, if the bones that made up the Bone Demon's body didn't contain a large amount of death energy, the Bone Demon would be both slow and weak, and would be severely injured by both physical and magical attacks. Bone demons could be large and strong, or small and weak. As such, bone demons were the most variable of the three magical creatures.
However, Han Shuo knew that the bone demon that had been modified with wings by the little skeleton would certainly be strong. It had been rebuilt by the little skeleton with the bones of the high-ranking creature in the forbidden land, and it contained a portion of the high-ranking creature's energy. Forged from these bones, the Bone Demon would absorb death energy at a faster rate in the other dimension. The creature could fly, which meant it had enough intelligence to control gravity. Otherwise, that piece of rotting flesh on its bones wouldn't have allowed it to fly with such agility.
Han Shou had grasped the characteristics of the three creatures, but the power of their souls was different. He was currently concentrating on the Old Fey Zombies. He knew that in order to successfully use the contract to summon the creature, he needed to find the right method to use his mental power to ensure a response from an Old Fey Zombie.
As Han Shuo furrowed his brow and studied the thick tome, he suddenly heard a devastating scream coming from the room. The magic barrier muffled it so the guards couldn't hear it, but Han Shuo picked up every trace of it. He knew it was the last agonising wail that Kekaru had uttered before his death.
This was indeed the case as Helen came out a short time later with her hands covered in blood. She ran towards Han Shuo, sobs shaking her body as she held him tightly before he could get ready.
The sharp stench of blood and Helen's own scent wafted into his nostrils. He didn't mind the smell, but he didn't want the guards outside to detect it. He raised his left hand slightly and closed the open door. A vortex formed in his hand as it carefully sucked up the scent of blood. After a round of crying, Helen finally calmed down and the vortex had gathered the stench of blood into a slowly rolling bloody pearl. It was still vibrating slightly as it sucked in all the scent of Helen's blood, not letting the slightest bit escape.
"I'm all better now. I'm sorry for making you dirty!" Helen slowly pushed Han Shuo away and saw that she'd stained him all over with fresh blood. She apologised, translucent tears still hanging from her eyelashes.
"Don't worry about it. Why isn't Firewind at your side? She should be with you right now!" Han Shuo had just noticed that the usual omnipresent Firewind wasn't there and asked in confusion.
"Sister Firewind doesn't like too many humans around her. Unless there's something special going on, she won't appear if there are too many people around. She's camped in the woods of the valley. I usually just call her telepathically when I need her. Since you're with me, there's no danger to my being, so I didn't call her. Helen explained.
"I see!" Han Shuo replied, then said, "I also have a super rank magical pet, but it's a dark dragon. This guy seems to like hanging out in crowds all day. Anyway, the more the merrier! It seems that not all super-ranked magical creatures are the same.
"You even have a dark dragon!" Helen was astonished.
"Mm hmm, he's currently evolving into his second stage, so I put him somewhere safe." Han Shuo replied.
Helen looked at him stunned and wanted to say how amazing he was. She immediately thought of all the magical parts of him and felt that she didn't need to make a big deal out of that part. Suddenly, she saw that his chest was covered in blood, but was quickly distracted by the spinning, bloody pearl in his left hand. "What's that?"
"I don't want the smell of blood to spread beyond this room. I've made it into a drop of blood." Han Shuo explained.
"You're an amazing person!" Helen still couldn't help but sigh in amazement, then pulled him by the hand into the bathroom. Her face reddened for some reason as she said quietly, "Why don't you wash off the blood first? You must feel uncomfortable."
Han Shuo's heart skipped a beat as Helen spoke, and when her smooth, boneless little hand tugged at his wrist, Han Shuo could feel the sensual beauty of her hand. Light began to gleam in his eyes as he looked at Helen with even more anticipation.
Kekaru's guest mansion was extremely opulent. Helen's rooms alone were filled with more than ten rooms of various sizes. The powder room, bathroom, living room, bedroom, storage room and laundry room were all present and lavishly decorated. Han Shuo's Brettel City Castle was like a country farm in comparison.
In the centre of the bathroom was a wide, oval-shaped bathing pool. There was a small magical formation underneath it, with a Fire Stone providing the heat. The water in the pool was kept at a comfortable temperature, and Helen's face grew redder and redder in the mist of water. In fact, she was tenderly helping Han Shuo out of his clothes.
Once Han Shuo's clothes had been removed, his 190 centimetre tall body was the epitome of a perfect male body as it was fully revealed in front of Helen. Every inch of his skin and muscles was filled with explosive power, and even when he was standing still, he seemed to be a balanced, vicious hunting beast. His naked body gave others an overwhelming, dominating ferocity.
Han Shuo's buff body contained a fierce power that was reflected in Helen's eyes. As she removed the clothes from his lower body, she raised her head to gaze at the towering man in worship. She seemed to be sinking into a bottomless, inescapable abyss.
"Is this demon-god-like person going to be my man in the future?" Helen murmured deep in her heart, gazing at Han Shuo with mesmerised eyes as she stared speechlessly at the spectacle before her.
